Description of Work: I would recommend Lofft Construction. They did a fantastic job of replacing two doors and reinforcing a third one for me. They were really great to deal with, very pro, and their estimate couldn't be beat by the others who I got estimates from.

Description of Work: We hired Lofft Construction to remodel our bathroom based on reviews we read on Angie's List. Unfortunately, this job seemed to be more than they could competently handle. Aside from asking for final payment 3/2/2009, more than 2 years before I stopped hearing from them with all their excuses, they had no skills apparently in identifying and solving problems. The job started sometime in late 2008 or early 2009. The problems began when they installed a radiant floor warmer switch too near a drawer and instead of moving it insisted on moving the entire vanity over so that the drawers on the other side are difficult to open. The installation of the recessed base was incorrect so they went out and bought a piece of wood and rough sanded it and stained it to match (not!). The fact is that when the original vanity was removed, the floor was found to be sloped, so they started piecing pieces of wood together, which looked totally awful. I wasn't told about it until the vanity was installed and was uneven. I would have been willing to pay to have the floor leveled, had I been told. The paint on the door has peeled. When I asked to have these issues resolved, it was one excuse after another. We had already paid Lofft because we had only noticed the peeling paint but not the unprofessionally done vanity base, which has a nail sticking out into the room about an inch. There is also quite a bit of grout stuck on the floor tiles, which I have not been able to remove. My last saved email from Lofft was to let me know we would be hearing from "somebody" regarding the issues. We were away that summer and the summer before so Alex or Luis knew to finish the bathroom before either summer. When I returned each time and called, I was told they couldn't do anything because I was away. In 2011, they had from at least March 18 until June 8 to take care of the problem. And even in the fall, they didn't follow up when I called. I have patiently waited for them to make everything right before filing my review, but I am no longer going to wait. Four years is long enough.

Description of Work: I am still in the process of working with Lofft Construction, but to date, they have been responsive and have provided good suggestions to the renovation of a full master bath. I look forward to the finished product and will update my overall experience with Lofft at that time.

Description of Work: I'm not sure why I bothered to solicit a bid from these guys for 2 separate projects. They failed to return a bid or even an email explaining that they wouldn't be bidding both times (in 2010 and 2012). They sent a guy to the house and that was the last we heard from them until we sent a request for a bid on another project. Follow up emails asking if they would be bidding were ignored. Many people may be happy with these guys, but they failed to follow through with us on 2 separate occasions. Setting up a meeting time to review work for a bid hasnt been worth our time. I cant recommend dealing with them.

Description of Work: Salesman came out to our home to give an estimate for building a front porch. They never got back to us with an estimate. Even after my husband called them and they said they would give us an estimate, they never did.

Description of Work: Lofft construction altered one of my existing closets into a laundry room and overall did an outstanding job! The job included wall demolition, running a new outlet, and adding plumbing into the space. Their price was competitive and they went above and beyond to ensure the job was done correctly even though they could have claimed unforseen site conditions due to my wall construction (block not lathe and plaster as anticipated). I would absolutely work with them again in the future and highly recommend their services.

Description of Work: Loftt gave me an estimate to replace a ceiling drywall. However, they never responded to set an appointment. I sent numerous emails - still no reply.

Description of Work: I got a bid for remodeling my kitchen. The company was very responsive and professional, as was the contractor. I went with a different contractor for a variety of reasons, but LOFFT would have been a good option.

Description of Work: We had three cherry-wood built-ins made for one of the rooms in our condominium -- a desk with bookshelves and cabinets above; a media center; and a wardrobe. Lofft -- whom I found through Angie's List! -- was our contractor and our courteous and attentive project manager, Leon Zajdel, subbed the job to Walmer Enterprises in Alexandria. Really a great job -- the furniture looks beautiful, and Walmer's installer, "Walter," was a real pro, conscientious, communicative, and cooperative. I stayed home during the installation, and I particularly appreciated Walter's calling some design issues to my attention that needed to be addressed; we were then able to correct them "on the fly." (I might add that Walmer's shop, which I visited, is amazing; Judd Horbaly is the very professional company manager and design liaison.)

Description of Work: A guy from Loft came to my house right on time so I thought that was a good sign but after staying for 30 minutes and saying he would get back to us within 4 days, we never heard from him again. I should have listened to the other Angie's List Reviewers that said that they have terrible customer service. After 1 week I received an email from his assistant after I contacted them saying that I still had not received my estimate. The assistant said someone would give me an estimate the next day but I never heard from anyone again. What a waste of time!

Description of Work: I called for an estimate and the representative spent a reasonable time with me and looked at the site. He promised to have results by the end of the week. I called after two weeks and was told that without fail the estimates were late and due to leave that night or next morning. Nothing ever came.

Description of Work: Called to request an estimate for a master bath remodel. Appointment was scheduled for Tuesday, July 15 at 11:30 a.m. I waited until 1 p.m., but no one showed up. Called the office to inquire and the secretary apologized for Mike and offered to reschedule a visit. I declined since I had already wasted a good part of one day waiting for a no-show. This, according to other reports in Angie's List, is not uncommon with this company.

Description of Work: The representative came to the house, and said that he would send an estimate, but never did. I suspect that this is their way of getting rid of work that they would not rather do because of location, complexity, customer attitude or some other factor.

Description of Work: Company came to my house to give an estimate for drywall work and painting of entire interior of house. Quote was promised within 1 week. Despite my calling them after 10 days, I never got a quote. If they didn't want to bid, they could have called to say they were declining to bid.
