I would not work with Landis because they contract out to people who 1) do faulty and potentially harmful work and 2) don't stand behind their work and reputation.
Description of Work: Prior to the purchase of our home, Landis Contractors had redone the basement for the previous owners. When we began living in the home, we discovered an undisclosed rat problem. Rats were running freely in the crawlspace and behind the walls in our basement. They were dying there and the flies and odor that subsequently came into the living space of our home were HORRIBLE. We hired all kinds of companies to determine how the rats were getting in. We spent two exhausting years working with pest control companies on a weekly basis. We also had to have builders dig up and completely reinforce all around the exterior of our house and open and close entire walls. We had air quality specialists, chimney sweeps and FINALLY a trapping company who I highly recommend - Adcock's Trapping Service. Through their procedures of smoke channels in our duct work, and their excellent plumber contacts - WF Collins, we finally discovered that Landis was responsible for the problem. Landis had hired a plumber to redo the pipes in the basement. The plumber had left the pipes coming up from the street sewer completely uncapped and OPEN - right into our crawlspace. We had to dig up our basement, redo the floors we had refinished, and redo our bathroom. We spent at least $25,000 to ascertain and fix the problem. Landis met with us and acknowledged that it was they who had brought in the plumber who did the faulty work. They refused to help us cover any of the costs however, citing the statute of limitations because five years had elapsed. We could not follow up with the plumber Landis had hired because the company had gone out of business.
