All three inspections went very well overall. I strongly recommend him to those seeking an honest, independent, expert assessment of a property, as I have described above in the services performed.
Description of Work: I have had Mr. Cox inspect three houses I was interested in buying. I have kept using him because I trust his judgment, his thoroughness and expertise. He saved me from buying a property that would have been a big mistake. He recognized the value of another property that had well-preserved historical features. He has taught me a lot and provided more detailed information above and beyond what was required. His written reports are well done and include useful photographs.

Ken Cox inspected my home on behalf of a Buyer and identified what he termed "numerous electrical safety issues." I agreed to fix the "safety issues" and when an electrician arrived to fix them he stated that the issues identified by Ken Cox were neither safety issues, nor were they electrical code issues. He then commented that the home inspector clearly didn't know what he was talking about nor did he know the electrical code. I also later discovered that Ken Cox told the buyers that this was the most "dangerous" home he had ever been in. His home inspection report also is designed more to cover himself against liability than provide any useful information - for example "shower door is hard to close, posing a flooding risk." The only thing he left out were the fact that there were stairs - thus posing a falling risk.
Description of Work: Conducted Home Inspection.

Mr. Cox is polite and friendly, but does a mediocre job. He seems like he is explaining important things, but he missed important issues with the roof and basement. His inspection report is bare bones and is worded to minimize the damage. He seemed pretty tight with the Realtors, which probably should have been a red flag to me. I've seen worse home inspectors, but I would not recommend him.
Description of Work: Inspected house for potential purchase of house.
