Description of Work: They came to check a toilet which appeared to be causing a leak in the ceiling below. Was able to explain to the scheduler my past problems with the toilet which was good as they sent out a plumber with a lot of expertise. They identified the problem and made a repair. | |I also had a problem with a second toilet making wheezing noises which turned out to be nothing but a bit of easily removed grit around the edge of the flapper valve. | |The plumbers who came were very friendly and explained everything to me.

+ -1 moreOne plumber came out and it took him about 20 minutes total. He was right on time, he was courteous and professional. He was all business and they called in advance to let me know they were coming too, so I liked that. He cleaned up before he left and their billing is reasonable. They tend to do the work and then bill later – they do not bill onsite.
Description of Work: They were here this morning. We had issue with a commode. I used them for the in the past for installing a sink and they have done other jobs for us in regards to the home plumbing issues.

+ -1 moreDuring a repair call by Wilcox Electric (also on Angie's List), I pointed out a leak near a light fixture. Steve Wilcox recommended that I call John E. Barry Plumbing. The plumbing company was very efficient and responsive about setting up an appointment the very next morning, although there was some confusion the next day about when they would call to let me know the repair people were on their way. (I was told i would get a call after 8 a.m. Instead, the plumbers were at the door at 8 a.m. The two men doing the repair worked hard to isolate the exact area where the leak originated before proceeding so they did not have to do random cuts throughout the house. They were thorough, polite, friendly and cleaned up when they finished. I was pleased by the way the men worked and delighted by the speed with which Barry Plumbing tried to fit me into their schedule.
Description of Work: Located source of leak that was affecting two floors of the house. The repair involved cutting into a ceiling and replacing old iron pipe in an awkward location. The two repairmen on the job also recaulked a bathtub.

+ -1 moreBill Head arrived the day after I contacted him to take a look at the house to write up an estimate. There are numerous projects we need and he provided estimates for all of them. For now, we just did the radiator pipe removal. Work took about 2 1/2 days. Workmen arrived on time. Bill Head arrived with workmen to explain job and confirm details of work. Good follow-up to make sure we were satisfied with the work.
Description of Work: Removed low hanging, cast iron radiator pipes from basement, replaced with copper lines around perimeter of basement. Move gas line into floor joists. Done in order to finish basement ceiling.
