From start to finish (free estimate to work complete), an absolutely flawless experience. Gentle Giant cost a bit more than I was expecting to pay (which is why Price is a "B") but the added cost really was worth every penny for the smooth experience. Movers were punctual, worked quickly and efficiently, courteous, and really did ensure that all items were handled carefully. Particularly of note, they requested that I show the HDTV working prior to them wrapping it up, and then wanted to verify that it worked when they unwrapped it at the new location; I interpreted this as a sign of their business ethic and professionalism. I would recommend them for anyone contemplating a move.

Very satisfied with results. Very professional and hard working crew. Packed up and unpacked all furniture in 3,000 sq ft home in about 8 hours. I've moved dozens of times and this was the first time I've moved with no damage. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

This firm was recommended to me by someone who moved across country. It was the best moving experience I have had, and I have moved about seven times. The sales person was fine, the manager of the move was fine, and the moving crew was outstanding. In my experience the moving crew is what really matters. They were all wonderful, friendly, cheerful, nothing was a problem, and they really hustled. They treated every single thing with great care, even if it was clearly something of no importance. There was a slight communication problem in the days before the move in getting more boxes delivered; and they did damage an extremely cheap press-board bookcase. But I consider those to be minor incidences.

The move was fantastic. They confirmed the appointment in advance, showed up on time, and worked incredibly hard to do the move as fast as possible without damaging any of my property. The movers were personable, respectful and hardworking. They were flexible and willing to add on a trip for more items after working a 9 hour day without a break. I hired them on recommendation of a friend and was glad I did. Also they offered substantial insurance, at a reasonable price. I did not end up needing it, as they didn't damage anything, but I was glad to have it.

We used Gentle Giant for a move from the District to the suburbs. They were able to provide an estimate over the phone (we had a simple move and not a lot of stuff). The actual cost came in below the estimate. The day of the move they showed up exactly on time and were very professional - this is NOT a company that just hires some dudes and gives them a truck. They took great care in moving our items - nothing was scratched, let alone broken. They took apart some of our furniture at our apartment, packed it well, and re-assembled it at our new house. They were also fast - the total move took 4.5 hours! Highly recommend using them.

The crew called when they were about 15 minutes away and arrived during the agreed upon time frame. We did introductions and a tour of the house so they understood our needs and the crew leader could assign tasks. The cres asked questions until they understood exactly what they needed to do. They quickly got to the task at hand and were much like a well oiled machine. The crew leader Brett was the point of contact and the team was polite, energetic and, although it was hot and the boxes were heavy, smiled, joked and appeared to be having a good time. They made our move less stressful and did a great job. The final cost was almost exactly the amount estimated. I can not think of what they could have done that could have made it go any smoother. I selected Gentle Giant based on a recommendation from a coworker and did not contact any other companies for estimates. If there was a rating higher than Angie's "A", I would give that to my crew from Gentle Giant!

They were college guys but they were very professional and got right to work. They also did a great job of insuring that the furniture was handled carefully and did not damage any of the items.

Gentle Giant exceeded our expectations from the initial meeting with Keiffer to finishing up the paperwork with Brett. We were very impressed by the crew and their work ethic and organization. We went with their packing service and everything was packed very carefully without cutting corners. A team of four guys showed up to pack and they moved quickly and weren't wasting time. While unloading the boxes I was very impressed how each item was packed with the proper padding and all of the furniture was wrapped in padding. On move day, a team of six guys showed up with two trucks and they kept everything extremely organized and did a great job handling some very heavy furniture. All of them had great attitudes and I didn't see them take one break throughout the day except for lunch. They set up the furniture at the new house and put every box in the proper room. The estimate came in with a cost of minimal hours up to a not to exceed price and the final cost was lower than the minimal hours due to the efficiency of the crew. Thanks to Keiffer and the crew - Brett, Gabe, Hunter, Ian, Mihai, and Patrick. I will definitely be recommending Gentle Giant and will use them again.

GGM sent 4 people on Thursday 3/8 to pack the house. They were professional - packing glassware, plates, books, clothes, etc with extreme care. They took apart desks, tables, chairs, beds anything that could be broken down. The GGM team was done in 4 hours. On the following Saturday, a team of 4 people came back to the house and started loading the truck. They unpacked everything just as carefully as they had packed it. This was the easiest move I've ever experienced. Stress free,GGM had a great team!

The response time from my initial contact was great. The company went over the quote and the procedures. The move was scheduled promptly. The movers came on time and the move went very smoothly. It was an incredibly efficient process and everyone I dealt with was professional and helpful.

Gentle Giant was great to work with from the beginning. You can go online, submit your estimated needs (items to be moved and from where to where), and get a reply quickly. they came just a little early, which was perfect, and treated my furniture and me with respect and care. They got done on time, were pleasant and professional, and I had no worries at all about either the furniture or the walls. They are a little pricey, but I think you get what you pay for. I highly recommend them.

I cannot give high enough praise to this moving company!The estimate given was the most reasonable and thorough.The services provided were remarkably good,overcoming some real challenging circumstances.They arrived on time to pack .Keiffer took his crew that he worked very closely with through the entire move,on a tour of the whole house asking very specific questions about various rooms,pieces of furniture and paintings ( many of high value).He assigned different rooms to different individuals according to their experience level ( so it appeared) and throughout the day worked alongside them,assisting and mentoring and constantly checking in with me and my husband to review the process.They ended up packing quite a bit more than expected and did it graciously and without a single complaint.The entire crew was friendly and wonderful to work with.On loading day they arrived at the given time and completed the job earlier than anticipated probably because of their amazing organizational abilities and the superb leadership of Keiffer.And the unloading day was nothing short of "miraculous"! Because of the paving project,they had to revise and improvise their plan.In the end ,as they could not park in the parking lot,they parked the 3 26 foot moving vans on a busy street(and side streets) and came up through a very difficult back way.I honestly do not know how they were able to move the amount of furniture(including a baby grand piano)up several flights of steps and manage to place each box and furniture item in it's proper place( with many changes made by me!)in the course of a day!There was simply no task too difficult ....even the final one ,figuring out how to get the piano in without going through the parking lot.They devised a plan of moving the various pieces on a dolly and pushing them along the side of this busy road into the townhouse enclave via a narrow sidewalk.Amazing!Again,I will say,their professionalism,their great attitudes,their flexibility and adaptability were above and beyond all expectations!They worked beautifully as a team led by a gentle but demanding leader and obviously had great respect for Keiffer.One thing amongst many that stands out is that they never stopped and they literally ran through the day.This is truly unusual in that they are providing a service that actually is paid by the hour,keeping to or below the given estimate.( in our case it did go over because of the difficulty of moving in but was more than reasonable)!It will take us probably several weeks to fully unload at which time we will call and they will pick up the " gently used boxes" free of charge.In addition,Keiffer offered to move a freezer from the basement to the garage( not part of the original plan) when the pavement is dry as well as to complete assembling exercise equipment that they weren't able to finish on moving day due to a couple of missing parts....that WE inadvertently threw away.Not only did Keiffer offer to return and finish the job but to check on the replacement of the parts online!Well,finally,I hope we never move again but we would certainly use Gentle Giant.....and we've already ,in a mere week's time, given their name to several people and will continue to do so.And,we'll look forward to seeing them again,whoever comes,when they pick up the boxes!They've become friends!

Great crew and great job, really couldn't be happier. GG handled my move from Lexington, VA to Leesburg, VA. They charge by the hour, not by tonnage, and personally, I think that's the way to go. GG sent a four man crew but only charged the three man price, and came in within 30 minutes of their estimate. The movers were very careful with my things, and took direction easily. They worked quickly, but not carelessly. On the other end, they were great about getting thing unloaded to limit the time I was paying for. They even allowed me to help unload the truck, which is remarkable when you consider they're being paid by the hour. The guys never mentioned or implied a tip - but I gave them one anyway, it was a great crew, and I highly recommend them.
