Description of Work: I don't like the idea of a flat rate for each type of repair. They changed the flange on the toilet and there was a take it or leave it price. I paid, but the job took next to no time. The hourly rate was way too high even for plumbing. Would not call them again.

Description of Work: We had a toilet that needed to be snaked. The plumber came out the same day and quickly fixed the problem.

Description of Work: I contacted them to fix a problem with my toilet -- there was an issue with the flapper between the tank and the bowl. About every 1/2 hour enough water would leave the tank so that it would need to refill, thus wasting water. They arrived promptly. When I first Explained the problem, they flushed the toilet and said, "seems to be working fine", as if I were imagining the problem. But they replaced the flapper and left -- job took about a half hour to an hour. However, when I tried flushing the toilet, I found that the flapper would not stay up long enough for to complete the flush. I called them back, and they returned shortly thereafter to look at the problem. They said that's just the way that particular flapper works. I would need to hold the flusher down until the flush was complete. Since they could provide no further help, they left again. The next day I went to Home Depot and purchased a flapper myself which does not require holding the flusher through an entire flush cycle. Since I ultimately had to fix my own problem, I cannot give Fry an outstanding grade. On the other hand, they did provide a temporary solution to my flapper problem, so I also can't say they failed entirely.

Description of Work: They did a service check on our steam boiler and being one of the only servicers of steam boilers in the area the technician was excellent and provided good feedback on potential future service needs.

Description of Work: They came to inspect my airconditioning after a "Groupon" service provider quoted $4000.00 for what they determined was an airconditioner that needed major overall, and duct cleaning (note - I bought the voucher for $40 just to get some vents cleaned). I found Fry on Angies list just to check this. They answered the phone immediately, got me in within 24 hours, and did the full inspection. All that needed replacing was the filter at a cost of $3.00! I was very grateful for their considered second opinion: worth the call out fee, and a lesson in "cheap deals" from others. As I am in the city, there were difficulties with parking, so the booked times had to be adjusted. As they are also city based, I thought they would be more geared for this (one of the reasons I selected them).

Description of Work: Fry installed a new hot water heater. Chase and Johnny were staff my mother and I interacted with. Both were very knowledgeable, honest, and professional in their approach. The technicians facilitating the installation were equally professional, honest, and knowledgeable of the process and the product. I would highly, highly, highly (yes, three times) recommend Fry Plumbing for your in home plumbing needs. By the way, they beat Michael & Son"s pricing significantly for the very same job without knowing the proposed estimate from Michael & Son.
