Fry Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning

The work was completed on a timely basis. Following a visit to the property, I voiced concern over a portion of the job using excessive caulk and sent pictures to Johnny Oliver with whom I had previously spoken. I was quite impressed with Johnny in listening to my concern and immediately making arrangements to correct the problem. In light of me leaving town, Johnny sent pictures to me of the corrected work. At no time were any of their team members defensive or full of excuses. They went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied with the work. I will continue using their services as I know they will go out of their way to make sure the job is done right. Just as important was their level of responsiveness. I always received a response to my inquiries within a short window of time whether by phone or email. Thumbs up!

4/1/16-- Just noticed that my review said that I would not use them again. I will certainly use them again. That was a mistake. Also, the furnace has run beautifully since the motor replacement. No trouble at all. Very pleased.

Tech inspected my central air conditioning unit and said that the unit needed to be replaced. He also said that my furnace looked okay. I don't think this was a good deal. I've used the plumbing services and I was pleased with the work done its just that this was a bit too expensive especially since my unit was not repairable.

They arrived first thing in the morning and drained the hot water heating system. They then disconnected the 11 radiators. The flooring contractor started putting down new floors over the existing one the same day. A week later, after the floors had been installed, sanded and finished with 3 coats of finish, two crews of two came back to move the radiators very carefully and gently back in place and connected all of the radiators, adjusting the pipes to fit each end of the radiators. This is an old, historic building and each radiator had its own problems. They were able to find a solution to every one. They then filled the system, checked for leaks and made a couple of small repairs. It was challenging job and required both patience and expertise. They did a great Job.

Our heat failed right after the blizzard, and when we called to see if someone could come out and repair our boiler he offered to just talk us through it first, since they were understandably a little backed up. He helped us re-set and start the boiler up within minutes.

Mr Fry was on the button with advice and worked through the problem on the phone with me in 5 minutes.

These guys are the best. Prompt service, very honest (told me that the several thousand job dollar job I thought was necessary was actually not necessary), great pricing and just really nice people: I dealt with Michael and Brendan.

I called several plumbers based on reviews on Angies LIst. Fry seemed to be the most reasonable. William was awesome. He called to let me know he was coming and arrived about a half hour later. Right on time. The house was built in the 50's. There was a copper pipe going to the hot water heater that was leaking. He replaced it and in the process noticed several other places that were badly corroded so replaced them as well. He was courteous, thorough and informative. He was there a little over an hour. We received a discount for being on Angies List. I would definitely use them again and would not hesitate to recommend them to others

On 12/17/2015, the sewer started backing up into the house through a basement drain. I called Fry Plumbing and they said they would do their best to get there that day, but more than likely, the next. In the afternoon, I called just to see what their schedule was like, and they said I was next, so was relieved. Their plumber showed up along with an assistant, and after I explained what was happening, and showed that when any water was leaving a sink or toilet, the drain in the basement floor would bubble up more. Because this was an unfinished basement in a 110 year old house, I wasn't worried, so the plumber immediately asked if they could cut into the main pipe leading into the main waste pipe. It was the only way they could run the snake, so I agreed. Immediately, they began running the Rigid K-1500, and with (3) 15' sections or 45', they hit what was blocking the water from the main sewer line. It only took a maximum of an hour to clear out the blockage, and I couldn't have been happier as I was just leaving for vacation the next day. I will say that I called another plumber, and they wanted $695.00 as a flat rate because the backup was occuring in the basement and nowhere else, though I knew enough that they were just trying to shake me down for more money. I will write their review separately. I will say that Fry Plumbing was very professional, and their rate was fair. They told me on the phone that their rate was $180 for the first hour, and then $80 for each 30 minutes thereafter. This was fair and within current rates, whereas the other plumber just wanted money without even considering what the issue might be. Fry Plumber will get my future business!

I purchased the seasonal boiler tune-up for my buyer clients who recently purchased a home in DC. They had used Fry's Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning on previous jobs and had nothing but good things to say about them. I booked the appointment through Shane and everything went smoothly from start to finish. My clients were happy to hear that there wasn't anything wrong with their system and that it was properly tuned up for the winter months.

Called at 7am and someone from Fry was at our place within 2 hrs. Not only very prompt, but reasonably priced and excellent service. Technician who scheduled the call was very nice and the plumber was extremely friendly and offered lots of advice/tips. I would highly recommend them!

In addition to the hot water heater and furnace servicing, we had several other issues we were interested in having Fry address -- a toilet that runs and needs the flushing mechanism replaced, and a plastic hose leading to our washer that we'd like to replace with a metal hose after an inspector said the plastic tubing is prone to fail. When I explained these items to service technician, he was dismissive and said he didn't have the parts for the toilet and that the tubing wouldn't fail, so we didn't need to replace it. After they installed the hot water heater, the technician indicated that their drill wasn't working and they would need to come back again with a working drill to properly secure the exhaust pipe. While a second technician continued with the furnace servicing, the first spent the whole time on his cell phone speakerphone arguing with his car insurance company and bank. Since the servicing took a while (maybe an hour), it seems that time could have been used by the first technician to get a working drill and/or to get the parts that he could use to do the additional work. As it were, they had to come back the next day with a working drill to finish the exhaust pipe. Despite the need to come back the next day, they did not bring the part for the toilet or follow up about it. The work seems fine but overall the experience was unprofessional and wasted my time by requiring a second visit the following day. UPDATE: Fry Plumbing reached out to me following this review, apologized, and offered me a refund on the furnace cleaning. The gesture was appreciated, and I will consider using them for future work now.

Sean (I think he uses that spelling) couldn't have been nicer when I asked about possible causes of a toilet leak that Fry Plumbers had worked on months earlier. He responded immediately and promised to send someone ASAP. He also took the time to explain why using a plunger might cause problems--the pressure might break the wax seal between the toilet and the drain pipe. The better way to remove a clog is with a hand auger, he said. Within a couple of hours after talking to Sean, Brandon showed up with his tools. He, like Sean, was extremely professional and likeable. He traced all the possible causes and made sure that everything was in good working order. Overall, I cannot speak too highly of Fry Plumbing and its staff. I have used them several times and each time has been well worth my while and cost less than expected. As an example, Brandon's visit and work today were gratis and a part of Fry's policy to warranty its work for 12 months and commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction. My rating for them is A+.

The technician was prompt and when he was finished the problems were solved. However he looked at each problem separately which increased the time and cost of the job. He looked at the first problen, then went to get the parts for that problem. He then looked at the second problem, then got the parts for that problem. Getting the parts for the job required leaving the premises and since this was an hourly rate, it increased the time and cost of the job. It seemed like it would be more effiicent and cost effective to look at both problems, determine what is needed, then go to the hardware store.

Its Been a few months now, and the pipes are still working great! We have had no problems at all. I can't recommend these guys enough.

Diagnosed problem and fixed quickly, only charged for the parts

I've been looking for a good plumber in my area for a while after some other surprises related to 75 year-old plumbing. I'm delighted to have found one. Everything was great - communications, flexibility, expertise, friendliness, and price. I'm happy to support this local business and highly recommend them!

Johnny and his team removed a 50 year old+ boiler and replaced it with a new Weil-McLain boiler. The project was completed on-schedule, they showed up on-time for all scheduled appointments (from getting the estimates-completion/inspection) and the entire team was both professional and pleasant to work with. When installing the new boiler they replaced a number of pipes connecting to the boiler and managed to make it look like a work of art (unlike the mess it was before). We are very pleased with Fry's work and would highly recommend!

Thomas at the company came on time and identified the problem. My niece was impressed at that time. He told that he will order parts about 15 days ago. Since then we have not heard from him and I called the com three times. They ignore me completely.

.They were on time, did a very complete job, clean, gave advice on how to maintain the AC for the future. Called from Florida to find a AC/Heating or Plumber for my daughter and again was very satisfied with Angie's List for excellent service.

Fry Pumbing did an outstanding job. Scheduling was very easy and Shane accommodated my limited schedule options. Mark came to my house , very polite and helpful and explained the procedure. He then went ahead to install a new outside faucet at my house. He mentioned that it might cost a bit more than the voucher if he had to open a bigger hole from the outside. This was luckily not the case . He needed to get a pipe that was bigger than what he brought with him and this time to go to the supplier was not not charged extra. I am highly satisfied with the service provided by Fry Plumbing and recommend them highly.

The service was exceptional, from scheduling to completion. I called with the problem and was hoping for a quick turn around, and Fry did not disappoint. I called at 7:30 a.m. and they were at my house by 8:45, which was a bit earlier than expected and totally welcome. They were able to assess and fix the problem, all within just over an hour. They left no messes, and were very professional and courteous.

It went very well. I was very pleased with the service and end result. Went quickly and the technicians were very helpful and came as soon as they could. I would highly recommend.

They were great. They were able to send someone over within hours, and the service they provided was quick, professional and spot-on. They've got themselves a new regular.

The plumbers showed up on time and took one day to complete the job. The water heater works great and now we never run out of hot water.
