Description of Work: Very well-informed professionals (Pascale and Dave). Their thermograms made obvious to us where our energy losses were occurring. Note that while the cost of an audit is $350-$400, we only paid $100 because Pepco picks up the rest.

Description of Work: An energy audit was performed, which included blower test, inspection of attic, crawlspace, appliances, and review of energy bills. She explained the results of the tests and printed out a summary of the results with several photos for us to keep. She indicated that increasing the insulation in the attic was the most important item to address. She also offered to provide an estimate for the recommended work. We asked her to do so, but she did not send the estimate in a timely manner, so we contracted with a different company to reinsulate the attic. She also did not respond to our email asking for confirmation of the appointment time, but apologized for not replying. Overall, we feel that the $200 was well spent, and that the audit was very helpful for us.

Description of Work: The company spent 3 hours conducting an extensive indoor and outdoor audit of my home. The owner, Pascale Maslin, prepared a report which outlined recommendations for increasing the energy efficiency of my home, and reviewed it with me prior to departing. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism and efficiency of Pascale and her other colleague. They arrived on time, worked continuously examining the attic, basement, all appliances, doors and windows, while performing a number of technical tests {e.g. blower door test). Pascale had asked for my electric and gas bills an she was able to provide me with graphs showing how I could reduce my utility bills if I implemented some strategies that she had suggested. I was extremely satisfied with the work performed by the company and the report prepared by the company will be a valuable tool for me as I make improvements to my property to reduce my electric and gas bills.

Description of Work: I decided to take advantage of an AL Big Deal and have a home energy audit performed by Pascale Maslin of Energy Efficiency Experts. I was able to arrange an audit in a very reasonable time. Pascale arrived on time, explained what she needed to do, and proceeded to complete her mission efficiently and professionally. At the end of the audit, she went over her findings immediately, which contained many helpful hints as to how I could improve the energy efficiency of my house. She also gave recommendations of companies that could to the retrofitting of my house. Throughout the entire process, Pascale was professional and efficient. Once I received the entire report by email, Pascale was available to answer questions that arose. She even came back to my house to investigate a question I had concerning a failed blow by test.

Description of Work: Pascale and her assistant jumped into the audit like they've done it a million times. they scoured every inch of the house in three hours handed us a detailed summary with photos, statistics, directions and references. After they left we had a problem with our AC and Pascale came back twice to look at it even though she was sure they did not cause it -- and they did not. She went above and beyond. Everybody should have her audit their house; you can't help but save money!

Description of Work: Pascale arrived promptly, setup her blower door test, walked around the house checking windows, doors, and outlets for air leaks. She also identified other areas of air infiltration. In addition to air leaks, she checked HVAC systems, insulation in the attice, facuets and toilets and walked the perimeter of the house to check for sources of air leaks outside. She was very thorough and explained everything as she walked throughout the house. Her visit was followed by an email version of her report and a hard copy came by mail a few days later. The report offered additional suggestions to improve comfort and save energy/utility costs. The improvements she suggested were categorized by cost and biggest impact to comfort and utility bills. I would recommend her to anyone looking for ways to cut their energy consumption and increase the comfort level of their home.

Description of Work: The contractor, Pascale Maslin arrived to my home at the scheduled appointed time. She began her energy audit by walking with me through out my home examining doors, windows, light fixtures, appliances, fire place, attic access panels, and etc. She was very detail in pointing out to me minor improvements and routine maintenance that I could perform on my own, without the assistance of a contractor, just to make my home more energy efficient. She even made some minor repairs right there on the spot with no extra charge to me. She came prepared with a handy little paint brush to wipe away dust and dirt in my windows and her own test equipment: (1) door fan to pin point drafts (and I had many); and (2) electrical meters to monitor and identify the amount of wattage my freezer, hot water heater, and refrigerator were using. I was very impressed with her “green” knowledge. The entire audit took four hours in which Ms. Pascale got on her hands and knees examining door stops, seals around my windows, refrigerator, and freezer to isolate problem areas that have been causing me to pay large sums of money to the gas and electric companies. I received a very detail Energy Audit Report that documented all of my problem areas, suggestions for improvements, and internet sites where I can obtain energy efficient supplies and techniques to assist me in making my home more energy efficient and lowering my gas and electric bills. Copies of my gas and electric bills were also provided so Ms. Pascale so she could analyze gas and electric usage for the entire year.. One other thing that impressed me about my experience with Ms. Pascale is she never tried to sell me anything. She recommended some major improvements that were big dollar repair items. Her advice to me was to go back to Angie’s List, obtain certified contractors and at least three estimates for the recommendations mentioned. I could appreciate that information because it told me that her energy audit stood on its own merit with no favors owed to anyone. I’ve begun to implement many of Ms. Pascale’s energy recommendations and improvements techniques and I look forward to paying out less money in energy costs in the future.

Description of Work: Pascale Maslin will assess your house or apartment for energy efficiency and give you a comprehensive written report of all the actions that you can take to save energy and money. She will help you assess what actions will give you the best bang for your buck. She will perform the work which is huge for people like me who can't do it ourselves and don't know who to ask. She can do plumbing, simple electrical work, weather stripping and window insulation. She has stimulated me to do work that I knew should be done and never gotten around to like a leaky bathtub faucet. She insulated the eastern windows of the house to cut down on the direct sun. She repaired a whole-house fan that had been broken for several years. She replaced bulbs in high fixtures with compact fluorescents which almost never need to be changed. She recommended replacing an energy gobbling refrigerator, but I declined to do it at this time because of the expense of buying a new refrigerator.
