DC Handyman

All went well. The two of them worked very efficiently. When replacing the kitchen sink faucet, he determined that I needed supply lines. While one went to the hardware store, the other continued working, completing two task until he returned from the store.

DC Handyman did a great job. They were thorough and cleaned up. They did a great job. I just booked another job with them.

Team arrived on time and discussed the work needed to be done with homeowner. Worked quietly and efficiently to get the work done in record time and with minimum of fuss.

The Big deal included 3 hours of caulking/grouting. The handyman came to see the work and said that it could be done in 3 hours with the deal and the work was scheduled for a later date. The date of the appointment he showed up on time but came with another person. He stated that because there were two of them they would only stay 1.5 hours. I provided the materials. They re-caulked certain spaces in two showers (not the entire shower). There was no re-grouting of between tiles or anything like that. In the smaller shower they re-caulked the bottom where the walls meet the shower floor and a line outside the glass shower door. On the other shower they re-caulked the bottom, around the window, and between the two shower walls. The work was fine (nothing to rave about) but in one small area of the caulking was cracked right away. I noticed at night after they left. I?m not sure is that?s normal or not. Since he is a handyman and I needed to do other small work we asked for a quote for additional work. He gave us the price and we agreed that he was to perform this work the following week at the same time, for the price he quoted. The day that he was supposed to do this work we waited all morning and he was a no-show. I sent him a text but the handyman never replied nor provided an excuse for not showing up. Not showing up for a job and not calling is very unprofessional. If for whatever reason he could not make it or was no longer interested in doing the work, as a courtesy, he should have informed us before hand or at least should have provided an explanation after he failed to show up. We did not receive either. A customer?s time is very valuable. I made major changes to my Easter weekend plans in order to have this work done but ended up losing my morning and without the work. This was my experience; yours may be different. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company to a friend neither would I use them again if given the opportunity.

One task was cutting and trimming a new rug and rolling out into room. They did say they were not carpet installers. But they did a great job. They cut and trimmed and laid carpeting out perfectly. Other tasks were installing shelving in the kitchen and bath. Again, they did a great job. We discussed placement of shelves, they made a couple helpful suggestions, and then did the job. When they were finished they cleaned up any mess and moved items that had been moved back into place. I will definitely hire them again.

This guy did a great job repairing a whole bunch of cracks in our bathroom caulking. Even took out a soap dish tile that was falling and put it back in perfectly. Job looks great!

We spoke this morning and within the hour he had already showed up to see the project and to get started. Very professional and excellent work. I will definitely use him again.

DC Handyman might do good work, but I will never know. He rescheduled on me 3 times. In general, he was very disrespectful of my time. The first time, I called to arrange a time only to be emailed the night before the appointment with a different time. I was unable to make the new time he presented. So, we rescheduled. The second time, I was sitting at home waiting for his arrival. After calling and texting him, he finally responded 40 minutes after his scheduled arrival time to tell me he was still on a job and asked to reschedule. I rescheduled again. The third and final time I used vacation leave. I called before I left work, no answer. I sent a text, no answer. I called and texted again 15 minutes later. I finally received a return text 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment, telling me he was on a job and would not be able to come. He offered to reschedule, but 3 times is my max. I can't take that much time off of work to wait for the DC Handyman that may or may not arrive.

Setting up the appointment was easy and at a time convenient with myself. Prompt arrival and efficient work. Good attention to keeping things clean. A very reasonable price with a coupon.

These guys were excellent! We would absolutely use them again in the future. But we hope this review doesn't increase their business so much that they can't come to us :-)

He was a little late due to unexpected street closure in the district, but he arrived when he texted his new arrival time. We had corresponded prior to his appointment and I sent pictures of the tile that needed work. I provided the grout that matched the current tile but I purchased the wrong kind. He was very professional, prepared with drop cloths and even placed a cloth at the door of the bathroom to keep the grout dust off of my hardwood flooring in the hall. This was a 3 hour coupon, he was able to do the entire job and go up the street about a mile to Home Depot to purchase the correct grout( I reimbursed him) all within the 3 hours. I would definitely use him again

It went great, the two gentlemen arrived got right to work and did a fantastic job!

Jose was punctual and professional. I expanded the scope of his services and he happened to have a crew available and accommodated me that day. They did all the work and cleaned up that day. The crew did a great job. I will be using them again.

Jose was responsive setting up the time for the service and called when he was running a little late for the appointment. He did a great job assessing our needs and had different colored caulk that matched the different colors and surfaces in our bathrooms. He removed all the cracked caulk and applied new caulk quickly and cleaned up afterwards. He was fast and thorough and I would contact him again about future needs.

Contractor called and scheduled the appointment which I had to change and he was very accommodating, professional, and did a great job. would recommend and use again.

Alex and Geovany were awesome! They arrived early, and did a very professional job. We are very pleased with the quality of their work!

Every thing done high quality of work

Was impressed with the work: they did drywall repair and prep before painting. They redid work that another contractor had poorly done. Also, they demo and installed ceramic tile in bathroom. They took their time and delivered a finish product that was skillfully done and more affordable and two other estimates. Glad I went with Jose and his handyman crew. Will use again.

All jobs were satisfactory until the ceiling fan installation. The light flickered and the fan surged, which would have been ok if he bothered to come back to fix it. After many messages from us via email, text and phone, he finally responded and said he would be coming by the next day to fix the problem. One more message from us to ask the time, and we never heard back from him again. We also realized that we did not get the same Angie's List special as other customers - we received only three hours of work for the same price everyone else received for four hours. Very disappointed, we thought we found our handyman.

Jose was very professional from beginning to end. I purchased the big deal for three hours worth of handy work and I had no trouble calling him and setting up an appointment. He arrived on time and got straight to work. He worked the first two hours, but was not able to complete everything, however, he came back the following week and completed the rest of the drywall work (as well as patching our leak issue) and credited us the hour remaining on our deal. With the additional hours we still felt that we had a great deal. Jose and his assistant were professional, thorough as well as clean. After the work was completed they swept up what remained and left very little behind. We would love to hire him again when we need something done around the home.

Very well. Paid for 3 hours; only took 1 hour. Ran out of things for them to do.

Bought a $139 Big Deal for a 4-hour service - great value! Jose setup the appointment quickly after purchase. We had a slight hiccup with the timing the morning of appointment but he made adjustments and got his associate Marvin to me soon after. The service requested was to repair some drywall damaged from the poor removal of wallpaper. Lots of sanding and patching on the high walls. Marvin worked quickly and did a really nice job getting the wall in shape. It took him a little less than the 4 hours he worked so efficiently. Made an additional appointment for him to come back a few days later to sand the new plaster and, for a great price, additionally had him paint the walls and ceiling for the stairwell and hallway. He did a really nice job! Marvin put up plastic to protect the dust from getting to the rest of the house, swept the floors, and cleaned up beautifully.

Excellent job! Completed all my "Honey Do" items and saved the life of one husband! Very pleased with the professionalism of Jose and highly recommend him.

Overall the service was good. One thing is I purchased the three-hour deal. I was told the day before the service that they would be sending two men which works out to be 1 1/2 actual hours (on-site time) and that there would be a charge of $55 per hour thereafter for the two men. I wish as the were about to past the 1 1/2 hours that they would have brought it to the customer's attention and provided an estimated additional timeframe to complete.
