I initially chose Brookland Plumbing because they had good reviews on Angie's List and I liked the idea of using a person in the neighborhood. There were a few mishaps with scheduling (they have sinced fired the secretary that messed up my first appointment), but rescheduled me at my convenience. They showed up on time, were pleasant and courteous, and finished the job in under an hour. To apologize for the scheduling mixup and show their professionalism and commitment to customer service, they only charged me for the parts. I will definitely be returning to Brookland Plumbing for any future plumbing jobs.

Great customer service even though the job did not work out. I called at the last minute with an urgent request and they worked to get me in the schedule within the same day. Unfortunately, one of the preceding jobs became an emergency. They called me promptly, explained the situation, and gave me several options to solve my needs. My project was too time sensitive to wait, so I called another plumber.

Very well -- in and out in an hour.

Two gentlemen arrived and carried out the work with great care and absolutely spotless effects, including making sure all water wiped up. Very knowledgeable and eager to meet expectations. Were here and gone within 20 minutes but never gave the impression they were rushing to complete the work. Careful to remove materials and clean up. They were later than was scheduled but the office called to explain that a person's house had flooded and they were tending to that problem and would be late.

They were very efficient and thorough. They found the big leak but didn't leave until they checked everything else. They found the other three (yikes!) leaks and repaired them as well.

Came out last minute and did a great job. I would hire them again! It's been 2 years and their work has been chugging along solidly. :)

The problem is coming from a part in my dishwasher, so I will need to call someone else. However, Raciele and his father made sure I understood the part causing the problem, which will help me with the next repair person.

Very well. The plumber was on-time and very professional. The work was done well. The price was very fair and less than I expected. Brookland was also very responsive (we had to reschedule several times, no fault of Brookland's, because these were outside hose bibbs and temperatures fell below freezing). All in all, a pleasure to work with. Highly recommended.

Loved their no-nonsense approach. The plumber had two assistants with him. They charged $175/hr flat rate for work, with no mark-up on parts.

They did not do anything to solve my issues. They ripped me off. They are a con company. They can only do small jobs. They are not up for large projects. Be careful of their smiling face. In response to SP: There was no call for appraisal from my feedback. They did not specify that they handled large jobs. For revenge, they went on the internet and destroyed my character, my privacy and interfered with my life. I feel no one needs to deal with a company if they don't do whats right. I don't think I deserved a vengeful response back.

Rasiel, his dad, and his assistant are highly professional experts, transparent about the work and the pricing, and truly a pleasure to have in my home. I had hired a variety of plumbers over the years -- and now I am going to stick with Brookland Plumbing. I hired them to run gas lines from my basement to my living room fireplace, where they had to deal with unusually thick walls. They were thoughtful problem solvers, however, and dealt with the unfolding situation with care and patience. They also cleaned as they went, were considerate of members of the household, and were helpful beyond measure. In addition to performing the work, they also discovered, advised, and fixed an outdoor gas leak, made a minor repair to a toilet, and provided diagnosis and advice on various plumbing related issues. They moved a lot of boxes in my storage area to get to where they needed to work -- and to my surprise, not only replaced them neatly, they replaced them in a way that created a lot more space in my storage area. This last was very thoughtful. I found Brookland Plumbing to behave like an old-fashioned family business -- treat them as family and they will do the same. They are transparent and straightforward on appointments and billing, came right on time after other appointments, stayed past dinnertime not only to finish but to answer our (endless) plumbing questions, and additionally took extra time off the clock to replace the boxes in the storage space in a better way than they found it. Thank you SO much!

Always been pleased with their work, have used them +/- 6 times.

They arrived right on time and made a quick diagnosis of the problem after I showed them the areas where I saw the leak was occurring. After doing some quick measurements in the basement to determine where they'd need to open the wall upstairs to gain access to the pipe, Luis carefully opened up the wall and was able to locate a hairline fracture in the pipe about 4-5 inches long. It didn't take them long at all to cut the section of broken pipe out and replace it with a plastic piece. Now there's no leaking from the pipe anymore and my basement no longer has a puddle of water collecting around the stack. They were very courteous and friendly, they thoroughly explained everything and they walked me through each step, even helping me take photos so I could show my other half (who was at work) the work they were doing. I was prepared for a worse-case scenario, and luckily it only took them 2.5 hours and the cost of the repair was very reasonable and affordable.

I used this company for two issues, one was to fix a simple leak in the kitchen. The house is a rental property and they coorinated their scheudles with the tenent's on short notice to resolve this issue. The second issue was far more complex. There was a significant leak with the pipe coming into the house from the street. Other plumbers refused to fix or even evaluate the issue because they said the DC Government was responsible. Meanwhile, the DC Government stated this issue was the homeowners responsiblity. Brookland was willing to evaluate the situation and ultimately repaired it. There work was completed in timely and clean manner. Brookland is now my plumbers for all future needs.

The team was on time, proficient, polite, and extremely tidy. They first thought they would have to cut a hole in our basement ceiling/kitchen floor to find a good place to put the cap but quickly came up with the idea to take the range apart first to see whether they could avoid cutting a hole. They were quick and efficient, got the cap in place, and cleaned up where they pulled the stove out. They also went above the call and moved the old range to the front porch. Great job.

It went great! Raciel quoted me 3 hours of labor at his fixed labor rate for this job, which seemed reasonable. It only ended up taking 2 hours, so I paid 33% below expected. How often does that happen? I'm quite pleased with the work done by Raciel and his team, and they were also just such nice guys. I will definitely use them again.

They're pretty timely, professional and I was satisfied with the service. They got the job done.

These guys are awesome. They are really friendly, and have always given exceptional service. They have a very transparent hourly rate (I think $135/hr + materials), which is much better than other plumbers I have used. I once had a large job of rerouting some pipes, and Brookland came in at about 1/3 of the cost of my next-lowest estimate. The only complaint is that they are a very small business, so sometimes it takes some time to get an appointment. I suppose by giving this great review that will only make it worse, but so be it.

They were running late and called to let me know, which I appreciated. And, they had no problem disconnecting the pipe under the sink. (I was not able to do it myself.) It was a relief to find the crown intact. My dentist was able to clean it and successfully recap the tooth, saving me a lot of time and money. The second job was disconnecting an old shower massage unit and replacing it with the new one. The original had been in place for nearly 30 years and was difficult for me to remove. They took off the old shower massage and replaced it with the new one. I was impressed with their knowledge, skill, and professionalism and would hire Brookland Plumbing again.
