Brookland Plumbing

We live in an apartment building and our downstairs neighbor had notified us that water was leaking through his bathroom ceiling. After reading the positive reviews on Angie?s list, we selected Brookland Plumbing to come fix the leak. Everyone I spoke with at Brookland was extremely friendly and professional. They were also very punctual and arrived at the time they had promised. The building handyman had previously looked at our neighbor?s ceiling and told us that the only place the leak could be from was our toilet. The plumber pulled the toilet and confirmed that the wax-ring was shot, so he replaced it. We also had problems with the toilet running, so we asked him to replace the flapper while he was there. Two months later, our downstairs neighbor said that his ceiling was still leaking. At this point he had a lot of the ceiling pulled out, but he didn?t want it fixed until we were sure the leak had stopped. We called Brookland again but when they came back they were unable to find the source of the leak. When the neighbor?s ceiling continued to leak, the building called another plumber who fixed the flange (sits below the wax ring). There have been no leaks since the flange was repaired. Also ? the toilet continued to run after the new flapper was installed. The problem was with the valve, which I fixed myself. All along we found Brookland to be very professional and courteous, but I am not fully satisfied with the quality of the work. The wax ring certainly needed to be replaced during the first visit, but I would have preferred it if they would have identified the bad flange as well. I have another plumbing need and am going to try them again. I do appreciate the professionalism, and I still trust in the high ratings they have received from other Angie's List members.

I called them for help with a broken garbage disposal, and a very nice woman called me back promptly and walked me through fixing it myself, for free! How incredibly kind!

This is a great company to work with. Scheduling was very easy and I was provided accurate information up front about how they charge for their services. The estimated time of service on my scheduled day was very accurately predicted which I think must be difficult to do given traffic in our area but nonetheless, he was at my door and work was started at precisely the scheduled time. I also really appreciate that they value their employees and respect that they have responsibilities outside of work to their families. This was evidenced by the scheduling of service calls in such a way as to make it possible for their employee to provide pick-up and child care after school for his family. It is important to me that in addition to providing me with top notch service, the companies I use are ethical, responsible and good to their employees; this is one such company. When he arrived on the scheduled day, I gave him the run down of the necessary repairs and he started with the kitchen. He was having a difficult time with removing the old kitchen faucet as the pipes had rusted and fused together. He checked in with me to see if I wanted to salvage the old faucet and asked if it would be ok to saw it apart to remove it. He seemed relieved when I told him to saw away - I got the impression that he would have tried hard to salvage the old faucet if that's what I had wanted. He made sure to check in with every decision point which I appreciated as there were some options that I hadn't even considered. He explained everything that he needed to do before he started on each of the repairs and kept me in the loop throughout. From start to finish - initial phone call to end of scheduled repair - Brookland provided great service. I will definitely use them again.

They are excellent and responsive. We have a small 4 unit building, I rent out 3 and live in 1. We've had plumbing problems in the past, but since we found Brookland plumbing we use no one else and will continue to use no one else. They help us resolve those short term problems. If we have ever have the financing to redo the plumbing in the building we will go to them. They are very responsive, reasonable and good.

Work went quickly and smoothly. We were alerted of delay in start time well in advance. The office was extremely helpful, letting us know when the crew ran late [which was noted as a possibility when we booked the co. to do the work], very upfront with pricing. The crew looked at some of our other plumbing issues and offered helpful advice and tips. We would definitely call B.P. again.

He was super friendly. He broke things down and explained things very well to me. He was able to find quick and effective solutions to my problems. We actually made a quick trip to the hardware store to get a new shower head. It was nice of him to go along to make sure I picked out the right one.

I like them and would use them again. They are small, personal, and efficient.

I called at 10am, and the plumber arrived promptly by 2pm. He was friendly and professional, did the work quickly and well, and scrupulously cleaned up afterwords. Probably the best experience I've ever had with a plumber.

Prompt, efficient and very professional service. They were in and out quickly, and the end results were highly satisfactory. They did a great job cleaning up after themselves, as well.

The most recent job was a toilet replacement. I send an email, they called me within 24 hours, the next day they showed up exactly at the time they said, the replacement was done within 90 min and they hauled away all the old stuff, and the room was spotless. VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER!

Called this morning at 8:20, problem fixed by 1:30 this afternoon. Evidently, there had been a cancellation that alllowed for the quick response. Pipe had burst, so that was fixed as well as another joint that we were concerned about. Very pleased with professionalism of the woman who took the initial call and that of the man who came out.

Arrived on time and explained what was going on, what the options were, and what he was going to do. Very good experience.

The best plumbers I've found. They were professional and punctual. I had my kitchen renovated and they were able to move the gas line so the stove could be on another wall, plumbed the new sink, dishwasher, water line to the ice maker and in between all of this the water heater stopped working. Though they were booked up, they were able to install a new water heater the same day. I plan on using Brookland Plumbing again and have recommended them to my friends.

Great experience! We read the rave reviews for Brookland Plumbing and felt good about using this small business. We're first-time homebuyers so we don't have much to compare the company to, which is why we did not grade for price and quality. (It seems hard to grade on quality so soon after a repair has been completed.) We thought that Luis would have to cut through dry wall to secure a loose tub faucet -- but he found a work-around that saved us money. Fantastic! The "leaking stem pack" described by our home inspector as a very common problem in sinks was actually a little more complicated than he made it sound -- one of the parts had to be completely replaced. Took longer than anticipated, but it seemed like Luis got to the root of the problem that the home inspector had not seen. The toilet fix required Luis to hop out and get a part from a local hardware store -- man was he quick, which was great bec he's on the clock during the to- and fro-. Luis was very personable and professional and we felt really confident with his work. We don't want to have to call a plumber again, but if we do, it'll definitely be Brookland Plumbing.

This is a small, family-owned company, so it took a few days for them to be able to schedule an appointment. They did an excellent job of re-installing the toilet AND because their charge is a one hour minimum, they volunteered to use the remaining time for something else - in my case to fix a leaking faucet.

We had various plumbing issues to include natural gas issues. Brookland Plumbing came in with the best estimate; they did everything that they were supposed to do and more. Three very polite men showed up on time and got right to work. Their sweat soldering is art work!!! We had a lot to do but they would not leave the first evening until they had restored function to our man bathroom; a big plus to be sure! I have been recommending them to all of my family and friends and plan to use them again in the future. Don't hesitate because they book up quickly!!! Cheers, Cliff

This is my third time using Brookland and the experience, as always was amazing. Raciel and his assistant showed up on time Friday (on the DOT at 8:30 am), set up and got to work in less than 15 minutes. I went to work and waited for a call that they were done, came home and voila, repaired sewage pipe. The job was extremely difficult - having to take place on top of a small ledge in the middle of a utility shaft in my 80 year old rowhouse. The other estimate came in at nearly double what Brookland was going to charge, was going to be 12 hours of work and required a LOT more cutting/replacing. Having worked with Brookland I trusted them and chose them which I am glad I did - it was a fantastic, pain-free experience. Really, really, really happy I found Brookland and will be using them forever.

Eileen at Brookland plumbing was very helpful in describing my options over the phone and giving me a flat-rate for the work required. I bought the water heater and expansion tank myself, so the charge was just for the labor required and included the small amount of materials needed for the pipe work. Luiz and Alvaro(sp?) arrived on time and were courteous, thorough, competent, and neat. I was kept informed about what they were doing and everything went smoothly. I was charged exactly was I was quoted minus the Angie's list coupon for $20. Thanks!

They were excellent. They did a good job. They were very personable, very willing to work with me. The price was good. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

It turned out well. The person who they sent out was very nice and competent. He did a good job and left the work site clean. This was my first time using them. It was an excellent experience.

Brookland Plumbing was so responsive and as usual, very courteous. They answered the phone immediately, scheduled my service for the next day, and even discounted my service given that the tenants had just flushed Q-TIPS (I know.., right?) down the toilet! I will only use Brookland Plumbing as my plumbers.

Eileen was very kind and professional on the phone and even called me on the day of my appointment to give me a more accurate time window, since she knew that I had to leave work to get home. The two gentlemen who came to my apartment were courteous, efficient and professional. Throughout he took time to explain to me what was wrong, and show me why he diagnosed things the way he did. I would definitely use them again and the prices were reasonable.

Brookland Plumbing is a small, family operated business. The owner and the employee are very responsive and polite and punctual. The job I had done is a very simple job. But there were punctual and returned calls. Good folks.
