He was great. Very friendly, I explained the desired outcome and he delivered a solution. We need to have more permanent work done and I will definitely use him for that. He took care of our immediate problem and consulted with us on a long-term strategy. We've been quite disappointed with plumbers in the past (included 2 from Angie's List). This guy was great, polite, and most importantly--he solved our problem.

The work went well. The project took a bit longer than Raciel had originally estimated, but the reasons it took longer were completely understandable--I wanted the gas line positioned in a somewhat unconventional way, coming out of a wall instead of the more standard practice of up through the floor. This required additional fittings/parts, which I was not charged for. And because the original estimate was for less paid labor time (1 hour) than was actually necessary (more than 2), they didn't charge me for the full labor cost and, instead charged me only for 1.5 hours. Raciel and his father performed the work exactly as I requested, gave me free parts and didn't charge me for all of the time spent working on our house. So I couldn't be happier with Brookland Plumbing and am now in the process of hiring them to do a more extensive job. I highly recommend Brookland Plumbing.

After a blast of very cold weather, we had a pipe burst in our basement. We were fortunate to shut it down immediately after it burst, but it was very important to have a plumber repair it quickly because we had to shut off the water in the whole house, further risking more frozen pipes in the meantime. Fortunately for us, Brookland Plumbing was willing and able to schedule our repair right away. Raciel Suarez was able to arrive early the next afternoon. He located the exact spot behind the wall where he thought the rupture was and carefully cut a hole to access the pipe, minimizing any further damage. He repaired the broken pipe in less than an hour. After fixing it, he gave me a lot of great advice about how to insulate the area to avoid further problems. One month later (and lots of continued cold weather), we have had absolutely no problems with our pipes. Thank you Brookland Plumbing!!

Great. Brookland always does a great job. You can't beat a father and son team. They replaced a shutoff valve for us and with the remaining time for the hour fixed our sump pump. I won't use anyone else.

Raciel was outstanding. His team followed up with me re: the appointment, including rescheduling when an appointment came open on my preferred day. Raciel was on time, found that my problem was much simpler than what I thought and had been told by others, and fixed the issue in a timely manner. His willingness and ability to explain the issues, answer my questions, and use products that were branded for my system really gave me a comfortable feeling. I highly recommend Brookland Plumbing and will be using them for my plumbing needs going forward!

The plumber arrived on time on both schedule dates. The first visit was for an estimate because we needed a variety of things done. The estimated was $50 but was deducted from final cost of service when we decided to work with him. When he returned to complete the job he was able to do so in less that time than he originally estimated. The plumber was friendly and professional. His secretary/dispatch person worked hard to make sure everything was clear and our expectations were well set.

I called for an appointment and was told there would be approximately a week's wait. I like to support small local businesses, so I didn't take much issue. The owner of the company and an assistant were very friendly, and after repairing the leak, they took a look at a small problem with my shower, as well as providing great advice on water heaters, free of charge. The sink began leaking again a few weeks later, so I called the provider and was told there was nearly a two-week wait for an appointment (I received a call a few days later and was told they would be able to come sooner). I live a 15-min bike ride from my office, so I requested that they call when they were on the way and I would meet them at my home. I was told by the receptionist that they would not do this, so I rode back to my house at noon for the appointment. After waiting over an hour, I called and was told they got held up at the previous job and would be there soon. The crew did not arrive for at least another hour, at which point I had to take off the remainder of my work day. Although both leaks were from the same location on the hot water line, the owner insisted that on their first visit they repaired the cold water line (despite the fact that they installed new parts on the hot water line!). I did not pay for the second visit, and was not asked to, but got the sense from the owner that I should have paid. The same line is leaking again. I would really like to support this business, but I'm afraid I will have to call another company to fix the leak under the sink (for the third time), as well as repair a newly discovered leak in another part of the house.

They made a special trip out to try and save the old shower faucet and when they couldn’t they didn’t charge me for the trip. I have recommended them to others. They were very good. They charge about $134/hour. The plumbers were very good and knowledgeable. They receptionist Silvina, is very knowledgeable and goes into detail to explain everything.

I called Brookland Plumbing after reading the good reviews on Angie's List. They gave me their first appointment which was a little over a week away. I was happily surprised to get a call letting me know they had a cancellation and could see me earlier - a whole 3 days after I initially called. They showed up on time, located the problem quickly and replaced my old iron pipe, which had cracked unbeknownst to me last winter when we had those three days of 20 degree overnight temperatures. They were done within 3 1/2 hours! They were friendly, professional and cleaned up after themselves.

These folks are as honest, competent and professional as the day is long. I cannot recommend them highly enough. My first contact with them was to address a leak in the pipes to my bathtub. The first company that gave me an estimate told me it would cost $425 because the plumber would need to open up the wall further, cut the pipes to install shut-off valves, etc., etc. In contrast, the two men from Brookland Plumbing said it was likely just a worn out washer, noted that there was a very nice shut-off valve system already installed, and finished the job within 30 minutes. The charge would have been about $65, but I asked them to stay and take care of something else for me which filled out the hour. My most recent experience with them was just as good - when I spoke with the plumber and explained what I thought the problem was with my water heater and what I had done to try to relight the pilot, he said that, based on what I was telling him, I probably needed a whole new water heater (which i would need to purchase elsewhere) and he didn't want to charge me for a visit just to tell me that. But I said I'd like to try relighting the pilot again before I came to that conclusion and lost my window for the service call. He asked one key question about what I was doing - specifically, how long I was holding down the gas valve when trying to light the pilot - and that did the trick. He very easily could have come out and charged me for a service call to do the very thing he instructed me to do, but as he said, "it wasn't about the money." When you find folks like that who know their stuff and take pride in their professionalism, they should stay in your contact list forever.

What a pleasure to work with this small business. The receptionist was extraordinarily thorough, sent an e-mail outlining everything we talked about on the phone, called back for clarification when there was some confusion because of my error; was gracious, friendly and thorough. When we set up the appointment for pick up at the other location they performed exactly as planned. They arrived at the time they said they would; there were complications with a plugged drain and they unplugged it without additional charge, cleaned up after themselves and explained all the details I needed to know to flush the hot water heater each year, ways to turn it on and off, etc. I couldn't be more pleased.

Their receptionist was very knowledgeable and helpful when I called about our leaky faucets. She advised me to purchase a replacement faucet in advance (and keep the receipt) so that, in case the problem was serious enough to require replacing the faucet, so that the plumber would not have to return a second time and incur a second charge. She also advised me that they didn't have the best equipment to fix one of my problems (a constantly clogging toilet) and gave me the number of a company that would. I always appreciate it when a company gives you advice that doesn't necessarily support their bottom line. She called me the morning of the appointment to advise me of the precise time the plumber would arrive. He arrived promptly on time. He fixed my leaky faucets quickly and also caulked the shower faucet that had separated from my shower wall. He finished everything within the one-hour service window and was very pleasant and helpful. I appreciated their thoughtful, responsive service and would gladly call them again.

First of all, the woman who answers the phone at Brookland plumbing is ridiculously kind and helpful; she worked hard to find a time that worked for us and was very communicative throughout our scheduling process (it took several calls as we have very hectic work schedules.) We had thought that our leak problem was an internal pipe, but Brookland plumbing advised that we probably just need to add caulk around our shower to fix the problem. They didn't even charge us for the visit! (Which they definitely could have - understandably, their policy involves a minimum charge for a home visit). They were highly professional and helpful throughout.

I referred a tenant to Brookland plumbing to fix a broken, non-lighting pilot light on a hot water heater. When the tenant called Brookland, they refused to come out to take a look and instead offered to just replace the whole hot water heater. The tenant felt this was unreasonable and called another plumber who actually came out to diagnose the problem.

Raciel came out to install a new hot water heater. Unfortunately it ended up taking them all day to do to the work because the area where the hot water heater had to be installed was very cramped and difficult to work in. They did a wonderful job, totally cleaned up, and were extremely professional. The staff at the office are also great and provide detailed information and quotes before Raciel and his team come out to do the job. They ended up having to do much more work than was originally planned but gave me a good deal on the price. They also gave my neighbors some advice on their own plumbing issues for free. Truly a wonderful company and I will certainly recommend them to everyone I know and use them again in the future!

Everyone I dealt with at Brookland Plumbing was great - from the person who answers the phone (she obviously has a ton of experience and is very knowledgeable), to the guys who came to install a new water heater after the one I had broke unexpectedly, just a few days before I had to leave town. They were able to fit me in on short notice and made sure ahead of time that they would be bringing the correct replacement water heater. All in all, despite the bad timing of the water heater breaking, the experience turned out to be okay given the helpfulness and professionalism of Brookland Plumbing.

I seldom write reviews, but I am compelled now because of the excellent service I received from Brookland Plumbers. I agonized about a plumber to repair the faucets. They were unique, and matched the bathtub fixtures and I didn?t want to change them. From what I watched, I know this was not easy, but Raciel managed to get them back in working order. He also repaired my toilet that would not stop running. He gave me good advice when I asked about a new more efficient one. Raciel and his father were a great team. Arrived just on time and made sure everything was done right before they left. All, including the receptionist, were so pleasant. I joined Angie?s List just to find the perfect plumbers, and it seems I did.

I had SERIOUS plumbing issues. Brookland Plumbing provided me with white glove service throughout my three week plumbing ordeal. They were professional, kept me informed every step of the way and were extremely fair for the extensive work that had to be done. I will NEVER use another plumber. They are like family to me. You won't be disappointed. Use them :)!

I had another excellent experience with Brookland Plumbing. The shower faucets in my bathroom stopped working. Brookland wasn't available at one point (because of a medical reason) and I asked another plumber for advice on how to fix the faucets. I was told that my faucet stems and handles were too old to be replaced and I'd have to spend $1,500 to put in a different type of stems and faucets and, even worse than the cost, have to remove and replace tiles, pipes and tub faucets to do that. I called Brookland because they are very good at finding practical solutions. Rafael from Brookland told me the stems and new faucet heads were easy to get and where to get them. He offered to help find them as well. I was easily able to replace the needed pieces and fix the problem for minmal cost.

They worked with us and did a really good job following up. They fixed it on the day they came out.

The service was wonderful. Courteous, on time, very clean, job done quickly and the price was great.
