In-ground Pool demolition: The contractor really pushed the team to meet the deadline and brought in extra equipment to ensure the job was done on time. More bushes and trees were destroyed than I had hoped, but the contractor warned me that might happen. There was also destruction of a cement landing pad that was not supposed to be involved in the work. Construction of the new lawn should have been discussed in more detail. I assumed the grass replanting would be a better quality than it was. Contractor did not use the right topsoil for seeding and (according to a lawn contractor) should not have used straw on top of the seed. I like the contractor, but they are a demolition company, so expect some damage. Be more specific about discussing the finishing work to be done.

Boston Environmental did a test on radon gas in the basement. We got a very quick response and received a phone quote on the cost. The testing device looks very high tech and was placed it on a tripod for 3 days. The result shows reading numbers for each hours during the 72-hour period. Overall, quick services and producing a good report.

Boston came out to my house quickly, provided a reasonable quote, and was able to start the job right away. Great experience.

Boston Environmental was the third company who visited my home to provide an estimate on the removal of what appeared to be asbestos glue on a concrete basement ceiling. He is the only one who tested the materials, though. The test results showed no asbestos! The other two companies provided costly removal estimates - $2,300 in one instance and $3,200 in another. Henry recommended testing first, so I paid him $200 to do one. I am so glad I did.
