Description of Work: Using an Angies' List coupon we called Geeks on Call because our wifi performance was slow and inconsistent. We ha tried several on line services and no one could identify the problem. Sacheel arrived slightly early for the appointed time, checked all the component equipment without finding a problem, then identified the problem as too many competing wifi systems in the area. He searched for uncluttered GHz range, then adjusted our router to take advantage of the open space.

Description of Work: We have big house, and couldn't connect an internet extender.

Description of Work: I called Geeks on Call because my desktop computer would not boot. The technician came promptly at the time promised anddiagnosed the problem as a bad power supply. He explained this was a custom unit and they would have to order a replacement.I was later told that the unit was no longer available even from the manufacturer, and some effort was needed to obtain it. They did so, and he returned to install the power supply on 5/15/12 as promised. The computer now works well.

Description of Work: Requested service to troubleshoot two computer problems: 1. Slow internet 2. Display screen flickering. The tech correctly diagnosed the internet problem as being due to conflict with other programs. He solved the problem by removing several programs that had been loading on startup. The display problem was solved by tightening two connections. (I am ashamed. I should have been able to solve this one myself.)

Description of Work: This company sent a technician to hook up my laptop to my new wireless printer. Charge was $179. I kept having trouble and called them back about 2-1/2 weeks later for help. They were quite unfriendly and said their work was only guaranteed for ten days. That info was not given me by them in advance, but was included on the back of my receipt. To have them return, I would have to pay again. They finally agreed to have the serviceman call me. He never did.

Description of Work: Computer was experiencing a Windows problem which caused it to continually reboot.

Description of Work: My computer was starting to lock up when I had multiple Explorer windows open. It was generating a lot of error messages back to Microsoft. Computer was cleaned up 1 Gig of RAM was added. The new version of Firefox search software was added. Better product than Explorer. Computer is faster and more efficient.

Description of Work: I found Geeksoncall on Angie's list on line. I called Sunday night & they were out on-time on Monday. The technician said that our hard drive was damaged & he'd have to take it off-site to fix it & install WindowsXP. Labor was quoted at $475 and HD at $94 and XP $129. I asked him if it was worth fixing or get a new computer. He would not comment. I have limited computer knowledge & thought I should fix it. He would recover my data & put it in an external hard drive. Later, I realized it would be cheaper to buy a computer new & get an external hard drive. I called Tues. at 9am & sent an email requesting that my computer NOT be rebuilt. I received no response. I called on Wed., and finally reached him by phone & the tech said he'd have to c/b b/c he started the work & denied receiving my messages. I never received a call back. I called on Thurs. am and spoke w/ Jennifer, a supervisor at 757-466-3448. The computer was returned but the bill is not resolved.
