I used Angies List to find this Contractor. I called him up let him know how I found him. He was here the next day. I explained to him I was trying to design on a Dime. I have an older home and things are not perfect. He was upfront and honest with me on what he could do at what cost. During the process his partners and himself did an outstanding job. We had some blips along the way no fault of his just my older home caused problems. The job was finished on time. I learned a little about home improvements my Kitchen Looks great and I even have money left over to have some fun buying new curtains and blinds with. I will use this contractor going forward on any home improvements I do. Would like to thank Angies List for helping me find him.

He was fast clean and efficient and cleaned up and finished a job another contractor could not do well.
Description of Work: He replaced 10 custom windows and two doors. He also installed gutters around my home at the same time.
Dave was quick to give us a comprehensive quote. We had several other contractors over for quotes. Some provided us with no quote. Dave, Brian and Jeff were all very professional. They were prompt, attentive to detail and cleaned up after themselves every day. It was a large project. They went above and beyond to do the job. The quality of their work was superb. They worked well as a team. They were very pleasant and a pleasure to have in our home. If we should need work done in the future Dave will be the only one we call. We would strongly recommend Alberts to everyone. Don't call anyone else--Call Alberts FIRST.

The were able to do the work almost a week sooner then originally promised and work was very professional. I would recommend to anyone and will use again for some additional repair work . Regards

This property had been a rental for the last 6 or so years. I decided that it needed a pretty substantial remodel, as I am likely going to live in it for a while. I purchased a full kitchen from Ikea, and had some new construction windows given to me from a family member. Starting in about May, I had a contractor do some work, and the guy disappeared without finishing. He started the kitchen, but lost parts, took too long and did an all around poor job. I originally had him in to install the windows, which we looked at very thoroughly to make sure they'd fit. He swore up and down they would, and he could do it no problem. Needless to say he couldn't, didn't and what he did do, turned into a disaster. Then he disappeared. Fast forward to August, and I called Dave Albert and asked him to come quote out what I needed done. He did so the next day, and gave me what seemed to be fair and reasonable quotes, for a not-so-straightforward job. It was basically finish an 80% kitchen and a full bathroom remodel, for all intents and purposes. Unfortunately, some work issues and bad weather forced me to postpone my remodel project, and I couldn't start until almost a month later. At that point, I had finished up the kitchen, and the scope had changed a bit. Dave came out AGAIN, on his own time and quoted out the project. At this point it was his busy time and we agreed on a project/price that would to finish the bathroom and the windows that I couldn't do myself. In between our agreement and start date, I was able to salvage the shower that I was originally going to replace. I called Dave and he agreed to adjust his time and work on some other things I needed done, instead of replacing the shower. So this is the THIRD curve ball I threw at Dave, and he made adjustments to work in my favor. Dave came out on a Thursday and completed everything he agreed to do and more. He then came out the next day (mind you, I had paid for one day of his time), and completed more work that I would definitely not have been able to do myself (trimming the outside of the windows on the second floor). At the end of the day, there is not enough I can say about Dave Albert. He did did awesome work, for a great price, and dealt with a real pain in the a** customer (me). I'll definitely be calling him again.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced rotted floor boards in bathroom, installed cement board sub floor Tiled bathroom floor removed improperly sized and poorly installed windows in one room prepared and installed properly sized windows in one room trimmed outside of windows on second floor, and one difficult window one first floor

I called Dave on Friday afternoon regarding a problem I was having trying to install a screened chicken run (A-frame) on a not so level area. My attempts were less than satisfactory (others might use stronger terms). Dave answered my call and said that he could be there the next morning. With his invaluable knowledge and guidance he was able to get the project done in about 90 minutes (I supplied some manual labor). The chickens are happy, my wife is happy and I can watch football on Sunday afternoon without feeling guilty. Dave has done work for me previously and this project reinforced my high opinion of his work and my intent to use him in the future (on more complicated jobs).
Description of Work: Install a 105" x 74" 4-section A-frame screened chicken run in an area with a side and downhill slope. The run had to fit snugly against the chicken coop. Because of the response timeframe and the uncertainties involved in the work, we agreed that the price would be determined after the work was done.
Dave replaced a joist under my front porch that had been eaten away by carpenter ants. I had already taken care of the ants, but the joist replacement was well beyond my capabilities. My house is over 90 years old which added some problems for him. Modern lubber is not cut the same as it was in 1920. Back then 2 x 8s were really 2 inches by 8 inches. Dave had to do some custom fitting to maintain the original dimensions. He also strengthened the joist and replaced some of the decking that had been damaged by the ants. In addition, I asked him to replace all four storm doors on this two family duplex as well as the 2 back doors. I supplied the doors, he did the installation. He did a great job. In a house this old, nothing is square, straight, level, or plumb, adding to the challenges. Dave adapted to obsticles as they arouse without a flinch and without adding any cost beyond the original estimate. The last thing I asked him to do was to reframe both front doors. After looking them over he determined that they did not need to be completely reframed. Only the lock side of the framing/ trim need to be replaced with something stronger. Dave custom made those parts on site. Whereas before my dead bolts were secured only by cracked, 1/4" trim, now they secure into solid 2 x 6. Would I hire him again? Yes I would. In a house this old there are always projects to be done. I've already gotten his opinion on a couple of them.
Description of Work: Replace a floor joist under our front porch that had been severely damaged by carpenter ants. Also installed 4 storm doors, 2 entry doors, and strenghtened the front door frame.

My kitchen ceiling was destroyed because of an ice dam. The kitchen was 60 years old with built in cabinets. I ordered everything online and Albert's came to install everything for me. I was very worried because you always hear horror stories about contractors but Dave and his team made it a pleasure. They were prompt and professional. They explained things to me, were very courteous , always cleaned up after themselves and were reasonably priced. We even noticed a small issue after everything was done and paid for and Dave was right there to make sure we were happy. I will continue to use the family for all of my home projects. Definitely a keeper!

Dave was fantastic. We were unable to find someone to come out to look at what we needed since it was such a small job, but Dave agreed to take it on. He was up-front about his timetable, gave us a quote in a timely manner, and delivered on every promise. He also had insight into the job that we hadn't thought of (i.e. color of siding new vs. faded). Dave was professional, honest, reasonably priced, and a pleasure to work with. I also liked that I was electronically invoiced and could pay him via eCheck, which was very convenient for me. We are extremely pleased with the results and the interaction and won't hesitate to hire Dave Alberts again in the future.

Dave was great. We had minor damage to the roof. He replaced a few shingles. He also replaced some of the vinyl siding. The insurance company had given us enough money to replace the siding on the whole side of the house. Dave was able to find siding that matched exactly so our cost was a lot less. He also installed a new garage door and opener. The door was from when the house was bult in 1952 and very heavy. Dave was very helpful in choosing a well insulated door as the garage is in the basement. He and his assistant were punctual, neat and did a great job. They cleaned up and disposed of the old door and opener. Dave also cleaned the gutters while he was on the roof and sold us the extra siding he didn't use so we could have it for future repairs. I would absolutely use him again, without a doubt.

Response from Alberts Home Repair
I typically do not respond to customers that are 2nd or 3rd party interests do to the structure of my company. These are companies that would like me to join there organization for a fee. They offer me the chance to bid on work in my area. If this is an Individual seeking our services? I am sorry if I did not get back to you. We have no information of an initial contact or any contact information.
First, Albert's Home Repair knocked down an existing wall between my kitchen and dinning room. They created an open floor plan between these two rooms. This also involved moving a light switch and creating a flush threshold between the hardwood in the dinning room and the tile in the kitchen. They created a threshold with some existing wood that I had left over from doing the hardwood floor in the dinning room. It was a creative way to make the threshold match and look so natural. In addition to this, they also laid down porcelain tile in the kitchen, bathroom and foyer. Before laying down the tile they had to stabilize the floor by making some re-enforcements in the basement that the builder of our home had neglected. We previously had ceramic tile that was put in professionally in the kitchen and it kept braking for a year after it was installed. The flooring company "Carpet Excellence" could not rectify the problem so we chose to look for someone that could fix it once and for all. Albert's Home Repair was able to identify that we had some structural problems that were contributing to the floor breaking. They did a great job! We get so many compliments from family and friends. In fact, we were doing this project to help our home sell and it ended up selling two weeks after the completion of the the project. You won't be disappointed if you hire Albert's Home Repair. They were excellent, professional, punctual, clean and creative. I would absolutely hire them again. They did a beautiful job
Description of Work: We hired Albert's Home Repair to lay porcelain tile down in the kitchen, bathroom, foyer. They also knocked a wall down between the kitchen and dinning room. Lastly, they added some structural support in the basement. They were excellent, professional, punctual, clean and creative. I would absolutely hire them again.

I had a very unusual corrugated fiberglass roof on my sunroom that I had found few people had ever dealt with. Dave had experience with this type of roof and was also very knowledgeable about several other problems that I had (problems that other contractors that I asked for estimates did not know how to solve). From the first day that he arrived, I felt that I had made a correct choice. He was very professional, and patient (I changed that materials that he was going to use to something that I liked better and he put the job on hold until the new materials were delivered). After the roof was replaced, there were a few places where it leaked and he came out as soon as I called him to fix it. He fixed a drainage problem and replaced a gutter, which other companies, including a company who replaced gutters, said they did not make any more. He fixed a leak in a chimney, which others said could only be fixed by tearing the whole chimney down. I was so glad that I joined Angies list and found Albert's Home Repair. Even my dogs liked him, while they had growled at others who had come.
Description of Work: Replaced corrugated fiberglass roof, repaired flashing on chimney, replaced exhaust outlets (2) and solved a problem with a leaking downspout.

I had contacted Dave earlier this year regarding these repairs and had not followed up on his earlier proposal (mostly because we were trying to find replacement vintage spindles for the porch railing with little success). When I contacted him again in mid October, he sent me a very slightly revised proposal (some of the materials had increased in price) and said he ould schedule the work within 1 or 2 weeks. In less than a week he called to check to see if he could start even earlier because of dry weather. He arrived on time and was well into the work when I came home at lunch to check on things. At that time I asked him if he could the repair work to the sections of our picket fence. He said he could, at a price that was less than a quarter of the price quoted by the fence company. All work was completed and the area was clean by the time I got home from work. Great job!

Dave is great to work with. His budget was reasonable and met, along with his schedule. He performed excellent work and left one very satisfied customer. He is pleasant, courteous, and professional. He takes pride in his work, and it shows. I would definitely recommend him, and use him again if the need arises.
Description of Work: Dave worked on my shed repairs (shed is from the 1900's). He raised the shed on jacks to replace rotted support beams underneath the shed. He trimmed the areas of the shed that were being obstructed (and knocked over) by a tree, and added some additional support in this area. He added some new clapboard where needed. He also re-built stone and mortar foundation, and re-positioned shed to stand level again.
