Size: Lippincott Van Lines, since its inception, has expanded annually so as to meet the changing demands of the moving industry. Presently, we have 70 pieces of moving equipment including tractors, trailers, straight trucks, and pack vans. We feel we are at an optimum size to truly embody the time-honored motto, "Large enough to compete, yet small enough to care. Each employee must pass through an extensive training session, including a state-of-the-art computer program, familiarizing them with every aspect of the moving industry. I managed to alert them that I had hired someone else.
Description of Work: I obtained a quote from them for moving and storage. The price was around the quote of the mover I selected, but their rep seemed so inexperienced that I was not comfortable with Lippincott. I therefore never followed up with them, but then the day before my move, they called to confirm that they were coming the next day! Even though I had signed no papers! I managed to alert them that I had hired someone else.

The mover damaged more than $16,000 of household goods, many pieces are new. The mover blamed me because: They say maybe the new furniture was damaged when I bought it, or their warehouse men damaged it, or I did not properly supervise the loading and packing and allowed their employees to improperly handle/pack my property. They did not pack/box several items that were then damaged. They lost parts to a 200 pound marble table and left it upside down in my dining room, said I should submit a written claim to reach resolution on what to do with table. Refused to move it to my storage room. Bill of lading notes indicated damage to every pice of my furniture when picked up, which is a lie. Many pieces were brand new. This is fraudenlaent business to try to protect them when claims are made. They lied to me about the existence of insurance covering me. Lippincott Moving Mgmt. totally non responsive. Complaint Detail Type Category Allegation Moving Company (Household Goods) Shipment Documents Moving company did not provide a written description of their complaint or inquiry process. Moving Company (Household Goods) Shipment Documents Moving company did not inform me of the availability of a neutral arbitration process. Moving Company (Household Goods) Loss and Damage Estimated amount of loss and damage: $ 16,000+ Moving Company (Household Goods) Claim Settlement Moving Company did not offer me a claim settlement. Moving Company (Household Goods) Claim Settlement Moving Company is not responding to a filed complaint or an inquiry. Moving Company (Household Goods) Claim Settlement Moving Company refuses to participate in the arbitration process. Moving Company (Household Goods) Other Commercial Complaints The company attempted to coerce or did coerce me into loading/unloading the shipment They lied about the existence of insurance to cover me, then 3 weeks later reported it to they insurance company, awaiting settlement.

Description of Work: Great move. Very professional and honest. Very fair pricing with great comminucation. We've moved 8 times filling an 18 wheeler the last 4 moves and by far this was the most efficient company. They made the move go very smooth and we trusted them all the way.

Showed up right on time. Very professional - extremely hard working. It was a hot and humid day and the move required navigating the 2nd and 3rd floors of an early 1900's home to get everything out. Entire move was completed in one day, within budget and our property was well taken care of.
Description of Work: Moved all of our furniture and household goods (minus major appliances) from a 2nd & 3rd floor apartment to our new home across town.

We used Lippincott Moving Co. out of Winsted, CT. The crew we had was exceptional. They were very professional, reliable, hard working and very personable as well. They were extremely careful with all our furniture, antiques, and all the many boxes marked "Fragile"... They helped us out alot, with alot of extra items we had as well. I have recommended this company to my co-worker who just moved on 11/16/13 and she was so happy with their service as well. Their Quality of Service was Exceptional!!
