We needed all the pest control for the house we bought that was vacant for a while. The Terminix quote was fair. All technicians were prompt, professional, courteous, and did a fantastic job. They know what they are doing and did a great job. I highly recommend Terminix for all pest problems.

Two people came to complete the service. They were very good. It took them like a half a day because they had to drill.

They were okay. I would not say they are the best, but they are fine. I think they were running a special for about $139. Their professionalism was fine.

The service worked out well at the time when we used it. We had a package deal for years. Sometimes I think they came during unnecessary and inappropriate times like winter, because it was outside and everything was frozen. I think it was inappropriate and we shouldn't have been charged, and they should have pushed those visits close to the time when insects are more of a problem. Sometimes we got billed for a time when there was snow on the ground, and I didn't understand why. They took that criticism well and we did fine with that afterwards. The price was average. I am sure I can find cheaper services, and I am sure there is more expensive. If I ever called for anything they did come, and they do call to notify you that they are coming. All the servicemen were very professional.
Description of Work: They did routine outside services for termites, and there were quarterly internal visits if we so wished.

Never showed up. Made me wait for 2.5 hours. Only when I called the office did I find out that "John did not service my area of the state" . I don't understand how an appointment and commitment can be made without understanding the constraints of a particular persons ability to work in a certain area. Epic Failure.

They were horrible. They went out two different times. It was a nightmare. It took me a month to get my money back. It was a month long period. They didn't even look for the nest and the found a neck. The second time I had them come out, they finally found the next. I had to call them the third time and they make sure they push the appointment out past the 30 day money back guarantee that time and try to get me to book and pay again. They finally came out a third time. But when I requested someone else to come, they were going to charge me. I asked for a different service person and they sent me the exact same person all three times. On the third visit he was like, I don't know what to do, I can't help you and pretty much left. After three weeks of me making calls every other day to corporate, they finally gave me my money back. Everybody pretty much charged the same thing. I really don't see them any better or any worse price wise. The didn't do the job and that's why I got my money back. After three visits, they still didn't fix the issue. I still had bees. By the first visit I was pregnant and by the last visit I have already had a new born and I saw bees in my home. Responsiveness was horrible. I would call and talk to them, they were like a local area manager will call you and I never got a phone call from them. Corporate had to refund me my money because the local office never even returned phone calls. Punctuality was not good at all. The first visit, the guy showed up 45 minutes early and I was still at work. Then the two visits afterward, it was the same guy, they gave me a 4 hour window and he literally showed up in the last 5 minutes of that 4 hour window one day. The next day, he was 20 minutes past the window. The guy was very nice. When I talked to them, professionalism was good. When I look at their overall responsiveness like returning my phone calls as promised, it was horrible. I feel like that kind of pulls in with professionalism. One person was great. When I look at professionalism, there's multiple things that I take into consideration. I'll never recommend then either.

Excellent I called Terminix to get a quote on eliminating Carpenter Ants from my 24 x 28 detatched garage. The technician showed up on time. I was quoted by Email $150.00 for a one time application.. This was best price I could find so I hired the service on Wednesday 7-23-24. I prepaid with a Discover card. When the technician showed up, he had a contract for $500. This was for an initial application and 3 more 1/4ly visits over the year. I explained to him this was an error. We only contracted for one time visit since we plan to sell the house. He had to call his supervisor. The tech explained to me that they only offer the $150 for one time when you book a three moe 1/4 ly repeat applications for one year. Huh? $150 one time but then three more 1/4ly visits? I explained this was not what I had in writing from the 800 number I booked the service with when I called on the day before. He said the phone person failed to explain the $150 charge came with the yearly contract. But I showed him the email printed out that never mentions any contract but merely $150 with $109 following three 14/ly's if you so choose. Well I didn't so choose. I guess I misunderstood what they were selling. Supervisior was GREAT. He authorized the $150 one time charge with no contract for any other visits. The tech even sprayed the perimeter of our very large home some 75 ft from the detatched garage where the infestation is now. How great is that for service? Yes, by all means GREAT SERVICE, above and beyond the so called "duty" The management was very reasonable and understanding admitting they made a mistake in being clear about the $150 charge. I accept and if I were to stay I would definigtely hire them again in the event of another pest problem. These guys are 100% top notch and I would recommend them as the day is long. Please be certain to ask questions about contracts so you don't have any misunderstandings about the service level being purchased. But if you do have a problem, olther than the pests they are there to eliminate, the will resolve to your satisfaction. Of this, I feel certain. USE THESE GUYS!

They came out very quickly to give an estimate. The estimate was much higher than I expected but it also included a warranty for all wildlife in our home for 1 year. We signed up and they scheduled someone to come out the next day. The person who came out the next day was a different individual and removed birds and nest and left without ever letting us know he was there. A couple days later, I realized they had not taken care of all the areas. I called them and made a follow up appt. We then received a call saying they needed to reschedule and would call back. We have contacted them twice more and still no response.
Description of Work: We used terminix to help us remove birds and a birds nest from the eaves near the roof of our home.

Terrible. No one showed up. At 4:30 my husband called the main number and the woman who answered took all of our information (again) and said she would contact the local branch and find out where the technician was and call us back. She never returned our call and no one ever showed up and no one called to reschedule/explain, etc. Will never call again. I guess they are "too big to fail" but deserve to with such terrible customer service.
Description of Work: We called them to come out and inspect our house to see if the termite damage was old or current. We booked an appointment for October 14, 2013 and they were to arrive between 2-4pm.

Overall I was happy with the inspection and the installation work. The three gentleman who worked at my home that day (inspection and treatment) were professional and knowledgeable and courteous. I was apprehensive about the reviews on Angie's List but this was the only day I had available to meet. I just hope the follow up service is just as good - and the employee who services the area, referenced by other Angie's List member, that got bad reviews is either gone or has changed his work attitude. I would recommend Terminix at this point.
Description of Work: The gentleman, Steve W., showed up on time. I was given a 10a.m. - 12p.m. time slot. He was there at 10 a.m. The gentleman examined the outside and inside areas of the home, which included under the dirt crawl space. I was shown the places were there was evidence of subterranean termites and termite damage. We discussed treatment options for the termites, ants and spiders as well as the mice and a payment plan. I went with the Sentricon baiting plan and 18 months of service. Steve was very professional and knowledgeable. Recommendations were given about the areas of the home and garage that were less than 6" from the grade and I was shown where wood debris was located under the house. I was able to get the property and house serviced that same day. Steve left around 12 and I was given an appointment time slot for the service people to show between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The servicing gentleman arrived on time. Tyler C. and David T. 26 termite bait stations (or more) were installed around my home and garage (coverage area was about 2000 ft). A spray treatment was done for outside pests. I will need to have the inside of the home sprayed for ants after April 1st. I also had the house serviced for mice. The inside of the house (including attic) and under the house were baited for mice. It was a damp day and when Tyler was inside to put down the traps for mice, he made sure he cleaned off his muddy work boots before traipsing through the house.

I HAVE MET WITH MANAGERS AND SPOKEN TOO MANY TIMES OVER THE PHONE. THE LOCAL OFFICE NEVER ANSWERS THE PHONE SO ITS ALWAYS SOMEONE IN ANOTHER STATE TAKING MY INFORMATION. THEY CAN NEVER FIND MY ACCOUNTS BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL SEPERATE INSTEAD OF UNDER ONE PERSON , ME. IM FED UP . ITS TIME FOR A NEW SERVICE.CALLING DOESNT HELP. THE SERVICE PERSON WILL ONLY CALL ON THAT DAY OR LATER AND SAY HE COULDNT MAKE IT BECAUSE HE WAS IN A SURPRISE MEETING, HE GOT A FLAT TIRE ETC.
Description of Work: I HAVE BEEN USING TERMINEX FOR 10 YEARS ON SEVERAL RENTAL PROPERTIES AND MY OWN HOME AND FAMILY HOMES, (10) AT ONE TIME.I HAVE BEEN A LONG TERM CUSTOMER AND HAVE USED THEM IN MULTIPLE STATES AS WELL MASS, FL,CT BUT IN THE LAST 2 YEARS, THEY SEEM TO HAVE REORGANIZED AND LET MANY OFFICE STAFF GO AND CLOSED MULTIPLE LOCATIONS. THE SERVICE HAS BECOME COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE. NO SHOWS ALMOST EVERY TIME. SHOWING UP WHEN NO ONES HOME SO THEY IGNORE THE INTERIORS OF ALL THE PROPERTIES AND REFUSING TO SCHEDUAL WITH TENANTS OR MYSELF. IT TOOK THEM FOR EVER TO ELIMINATE AN ANT PROBLEM THAT RECURRED EVERY YEAR FOR YEARS,AND FOR MOST OF THE YEAR. NOW I HAVE MICE RUNNING WILD CHEWING ON WIRES SETTING OFF FALSE SECURITY ALARMS IN MY HOME AND ONE OF MY RENTAL PROPERTIES IS INFESTED WITH COCKROACHES AND FLEAS. THESE ARE SINGLE FAMILY HOMES. THEY HAVE COMPLETELY IGNORED THE INTERIORS AND RANDOMLY SPRAYED THE EXTERIORS INSUFFICIENTLY AT THAT, WHILE NO ONE IS HOME . THEY LEAVE YELLOW SIGNS TO LET ME KNOW THEY WERE AT MY HOUSE WHEN THEY FELT LIKE SHOWING UP AND NOT WHEN WE HAD ARRANGED. AND ON THE RENTALS THEY HAVE NEVER LEFT SIGNAGE TO SHOW THEY WERE THERE WARNING OF PESTICIDE TREATMENT AND HAVE ONLY BEEN SPOTTED ONCE BY A TENANT LOOKING OUT HER BACK WINDOW.

Billy, the Terminex exterminator, came to my home and looked at my problem. I gathered samples for him then he said he was going to contact his boss and call me back within ½ hour. I have not heard from him or his boss for a month now. Not the service I ever expect or want. VERY BAD?.but at least I found a much better exterminator also on Angie's List so I am happy.

COLONIZED UNDER ORIENTAL RUGS..TOTALLY DESTROYED 4 OF 34 AND DAMAGED ANOTHER 12..THAT COST OVER $11,000 TO REPAIR!!!!!!!!! DESTROYED A NUMBER OF CASHMERE SWEATERS, AND 2 FUR COATS!!!!!!!!!!! Initial contact was on a Thursday (09/27/12). Talked into an annual contract by the Terminix rep. Service was scheduled for the following day (09/28/12). Terminix failed to show ('service tech called in sick'). Service was then rescheduled for Saturday (09/29/12). Terminix failed to show and did not call. Eventually, someone showed up to hit the beehive with pesticide, but, more importantly, to get my signature on the annual contract. An hour later, it was discovered that a massive bee's nest occupied the wall space. This was discovered only when a siding contractor accidently broke through my living room wall (trying to remove bees' nests from the outside of the home). I placed an emergency call to Terminix to remove the newly-discovered nests (why didn't Terminix find them when they were here?) because now the only exit from the wallspace was into my living room.. I received no response from Terminix, in spite of the fact that two staff at the Windsor office (Jason and David Thompson) gave me their cell phone numbers 'as an indication of how concerned they are with providing good customer service'). I couldn't get through to either number (one just kept ringing with no option to leave a message; Thompson's (a service manage) voice mail was full and 'couldn't store additional messages'). I then placed a call to the 800 number and spoke to a customer rep in Illinois. That person tried to contact the Windsor office and was similarly unsuccessful. I was assured at that time, however, that I would be receiving a call back very shortly. They call never came. The siding contractors eventually removed some of the massive bees nest. Four days later, I was still waiting for the callback. Eventually I reached someone who came out (this on Friday, 10/05/12) to look at the wallspace before it was repaired (had been waiting several days for a Terminix response before the wall could be repaired). Nobody knows how any of the miscommunication (non-communication) happened. Jason told me on 10/05 that he would call me 'sometime next week' to schedule the full initial pest control treatment. It's now 10/21 and still no word. I did, however, receive an e-mail from Terminix indicating that my initial treatment had been completed (it wasn't) and an offer to take a followup survey about my experience with Terminix (I did).
Description of Work: Initial call was for removal of a bee's nest in my wall discovered when a residing project began.

See above, no services were rendered however the experience in dealing with the manager from Windor, CT was extremely professional.
Description of Work: In late July 2012 I returned from vacation on a Saturday and found my home infested with fleas! That Saturday I joined AL and made several desperate calls to exterminators in the effort to get an emergency extermination the following day, Sunday. I expected to pay more for the emergency service but I was willing to do so. I reached an operator from Terminex and was able to schedule the first available appointment for the following Wednesday. However, in the interim I recieved a response from another company who was able to schedule me for the following day, Sunday. In my haste, I neglected to recontact Terminex to cancel my scheduled appointment and on Wednesday, July 25th the Terminex employee from Windsor, CT arrived on time for our appointment! I was extremely apologetic for failing to cancel our appointment and to my complete surprise the gentleman was understanding and sincerely glad that my problem had been rectified. He shook my hand, refused to charge me any money for the failed appointment and even took the time to tell me he would be available to me if the other company had failed to resolve the problem. He was so pleasant and professional in his response to me that I felt necessary to write this review even though no services were rendered. This company appears to be well run and this particular manager was very genuine and professional. If future needs dictate, I won't hesitate to contact him again.

They have happily returned to address new problems above and beyond the regular visits and they are professional and clean. i don't love the fact that the product which is used inside for ant control leaves a trace of material on the baseboard of the walls, but it can be washed off after a week or so. I choose this method over having small holes bores into the wood to treat for ants. Traps for mice are replaced and mice removed each visit.
Description of Work: I have used this company on an ongoing basis for many years. I have a contract with them for four visits a year, which includes anytime in between that I need them. They treat both outside the home, in the attic and basement, garage and exterior of my home for mice, ants, and spiders.
