Description of Work: My wife and I finished our basement and had a AC/Hot Forced Air system for our home, but wanted a separate zone for the basement area. They installed 4 supply registers and 1 return register, ran the ducts back to the furnace to provide proper air flow, and installed motorized dampers, control board, and a thermostat to create a separate comfort zone for the furnace.

Description of Work: Just signed up on Angies list and thought I would try it out. My first try was curiosity and I chose HARP. I have been doing business with them for several years now for both my furnace and AC.They have never let me down,Iwill keep going back.

Description of Work: No services were performed. I ordered the offer which was worded is such a way that I believed it was a furnace tune-up. Then they refused to come because the furnace was not broken and the offer did not apply to just a fall tune-up. I calles Angie's rep and he said that they would send other similar offers but I never received anything so I want a credit or refund.

Description of Work: We were having difficulty with our air conditioner leaking fluid. The company who originally installed it had looked at it several times, with no conclusion. We called Harp and they came out to give us their opinion of what was wrong. Then we used that information to get the original company to correct the problem.

Description of Work: He arrived within the specified time frame. Was friendly went right to work. Explained everything in detail.

Description of Work: Repaired HVAC condensation unit

Description of Work: We noticed that our air conditioner's blower was blowing, but no cool air was coming into the house. Called HARP, and the technician came right away. He took me out to the blower so I could watch what he was doing. Pulled out something and said "that's your problem - you don't need a whole new blower yet". He replaced the faulty part, and we immediately began getting cold air in the house. Our system is quite old, and I asked him how much longer it might last. He was so cute - "it could die as soon as I leave your driveway, or last another 10 years. There's really no way to know". It's been 2 months now, and the system is doing fine. I am so grateful that he was so honest and fair. When we do need a new system, we will definitely have HARP do the work!

Description of Work: Replaced older furnace and central air unit with newer, high efficiency furnace and central air unit.

Description of Work: I called for a "no heat" issue and they came, did half the service and left my house with no heat. I was not able to be there but my 67 year old mother was there. When the service person arrived he began listing repairs he recommend (not required). I spoke with him by phone and asked him to only make the repairs needed to get the furnace working. He told me he did that but then all of a sudden my furnace was emitting carbon monoxide through what he describes as a 1-inch crack in the flue pipe. I believe that my furnace was damaged when I did not agree to what was presented as "optional" services by the service person. He took a check from my mother in the amount of $221 despite the fact he did not fix the issue. He also turned off the power to the furnace leaving my house cold and leaving me to have to stay in a hotel for the night. There was no follow up by management when I expressed my concerns. I would never do business with them or recommend them to anyone else.

Description of Work: The company promptly responded to my request for furnace estimate, sent a person to my home to spec out the options, and patiently explained them to me. I eventually chose another contractor due to having a smaller budget, but my overall experience of dealing with HARP is nevertheless very positive.

Description of Work: This company may be OK if you can get past the extremely rude and sarcastic woman who answers the phone. Inasmuch as I am not a heating and a/c expert (um, excuse me, that would be why I called them) who couldn't use the exact right terminology for the service I needed, we didn't get very far. She took great delight in showing how smart she was that she could ask questions demonstrating her own command of the jargon, and she really got a kick out of her own sarcastic humor at my expense. Apparently, she cracks her self up. Since I had a serious problem and hadn't called to be humiliated or laughed at, I took my $8,000 elsewhere. Hey, at least she got a laugh out of it. I'd say, take your business somewhere else. Great face to the customer Harp!

Description of Work: Needed service on gas boiler. Offered a service or maintenance and I chose maintenance. One valve needed replacement. Serviceman was quick, clean, respectful.
