+ 4 moreWent very well. Reviewed the whole job and everything was addressed. The trim was tricky since it wasn't a basic replace. There was a gap between where the trim would go and the drywall and they were able to address the gap in a cost effective manner through re-use of excess trim that otherwise would've been wasted. Also, they reviewed our wooden fence and gave an assessment that it wouldn't be good value to try and fix up. Their alternative was to replace a portion of the fence (a recent fencing company gave a quote to replace the whole fence and I appreciated the cost-effective assessment from Twin Oaks). Finally, Tracy is great with coordinating the work via both phone and e-mail (very responsive).
Description of Work: Added new trim to door and painted trim; prime and painted utility room ceiling, hung new mirror, built new wooden ramp for shed.

+ 1 moreWe previously had two poor experiences using Angie's List (reviewed separately) and were skeptical to use another service. However, Twin Oaks exceeded our expectations! Within two days of purchasing eight hours of painting for $250 I was contacted by Tracy to set up an appointment. They were flexible with both date and time. The day of the appointment we were sent an email letting us know that our painter, Carlos, was on his way. Carlos arrived on time and was a delight to have in our home - he was especially courteous to our four year old daughters who thought he was just great. He also more than satisfied my very picky husband! Carlos did an excellent repair and paint job in two rooms and was extremely diligent in his clean up. Tracy gave a follow up phone call to check in on our experience, which we assured her was excellent. I would gladly recommend this company and the wonderful service that they provided!

The apprentice did some painting but spilled it on pouring so left paint all over the can, lid and handle and I found a pool of paint left on my wood floor after they left, left some rusty nails, wood rot pieces,etc. Caulking a bit sloppy on roof.

After discussing the job, they went to purchase the wood and replaced the bottom panel of the garage door. Customer service was excellent. I spoke to Tracy a few times as it was uncertain as to whether this job was for Twin Oaks or a garage contractor. Tracy made sure the right people would be available and scheduled the time accordingly. I would definitely recommend this company.

They recommended that their carpenter work with an apprentice as some portions of the siding are pretty high up and having a 2 man team is a safety issue. Apprentice charged at $18 per hour, which I think is a reasonable and affordable rate. I bought 4 hours of work via Angies List. They finished with additional 3 hours. Great quality work.
Description of Work: Maintenance on outside of the house including replacement of sidings and window pane with rot.

Description of Work: I used Angie's List to find Quality. I left a message which was returned promptly returned the following morning by Danny he was easy to work with and adjusted HIS busy schedule in order to accommodate mine. He confirmed the appointment prior and arrived on time the day of. The walk through was quick and efficient. He provided me with a quote and informed me it would be a three day job.The crew showed up and got right to work, there was no standing around. I did a walk thru with the head painter while the crew started moving furniture and taping off. I really appreciated how quietly the guys worked because my young daughter was off school that week. They hardly even spoke to each other and they were very professional. They painted 3 bedrooms and powerwashed & sealed my deck for the winter, we were so happy with their work we hired them the following spring for a full exterior paint job, and they performed a excellent job again! in additional to the exterior paint they pressure washed and oil - treated our cedar roof shingles. Would definanly hire and and referral to friends and family.

+ 8 moreTheir company exceeded my expectations by going above and beyond. They were very professional and surprised me by always arriving at the scheduled time. The quality of their craftsmanship was top notch.
Description of Work: Following our great experience with Twin Oaks on our bathroom project, we hired them again. This time for a larger project, our Kitchen remodel. After showing Danny a ton of references, we collaborated on the design and layout of our new kitchen. We also asked him for multiple versions of budget scenarios. Once underway Danny crew set up tarps to block the dust and construction from the rest of the house. Because of Danny’s relationships at several suppliers we were able to get very reasonable prices on materials such as tiles, countertops and paint to name a few. All of cabinets are custom made, so we could get exactly what we wanted without compromising, unlike what we experienced with other kitchen re-modelers who use name brand products (for more money). In additional, when Danny puts together a budget, he delivers on that budget. The only time we saw an increase was when we asked for something out the workscope, even then he did his best to cover our request. Since the completion, his crew has stopped by whenever we have something little we have needed new done, recently had them by for a small water damage job where they dry walled, taped compounded and painted. I would recommend Twin Oaks for all and any home improvement projects big or small.

This is one of many jobs they have completed for us over the past 10 years including painting the entire interior and exterior of our house which is apx. 4,500 square feet. Their prices are reasonable. The quality is always excellent and the work is completed on time. I trust them without reservation. They frequently make recommendations to save money and I have never felt they did work that was not needed. I would recommend Twin Oaks Painting & Carpentry for painting, deck cleaning and repairs, gutter and related projects.
Description of Work: Power wash main house. Hand scrub mold from roof shingles. Power wash both deck/ sanding if necessary. Replace three to four deck board. Apply a heavy coat of BM arbercoat translucent oil stain to both deck floor. Remove front door- install doorknob and fix door opening. Remove sun room door and fix opening.
