I do not recommend you do business with MDI Construction. An elderly senior citizen woman needed her rotting, deck and stairs on the rear of her home replaced.   A quote was provided by the owner of MDI Construction, which seemed kind of low, but it was accepted and a deposit paid.  He agreed to show up one day and do the project.   1.  The work was begun without the written consent of the elderly homeowner.  No written contract itemizing the exact work to be done, or not done was provided to the elderly lady, or to anyone so as to provide all clarity and agreement, prior to, or on the day he showed up. 2.  When he left on the day he showed up to start and complete the project, he left his trash and all the removed rotten wood and all the unused cut up new wood on the elderly ladys driveway.  Wood with nails sticking out that can be stepped on, tripped over and fallen on by anyone, but mostly by the elderly woman with some vision shortcomings.  He also ignored the request to provide an invoice from his business for the work done when asked for one.   3.  No building permit was obtained by the contractor prior to starting the project so the local building inspector can inspect the work done by him on the whole deck and stairs.  Inspection required by the State to insure safety and that it meets building codes.   A professional builder later looked the project over and found it to not meet building codes and opined it was unsafe due to other workmanship issues as well.   Even the steps were of different heights and not according to code creating a tripping hazard.   4.  When the work project was seen after completion, it appeared to be half done.  New wood was structured and nailed/screwed onto some of the old and rotting wood of the decking, stair railings, deck framing and posts that should have been removed and also replaced.   He now wanted $1200 more to finish the project he had originally verbally quoted that seemed low.   4.  When a compromise solution was attempted, he did not keep it, but rather kept all the deposit money and more and never showed up to remove all of his project trash and rotted wood from his failed deck and stairs project.  He has since ignored all messages and phone calls. "Review Update: After hearing from Angie/Home Advisor officials due to an escalated Complaint, Mykhaylo Danyluk (Misha) of MDI Construction came by, 01/17/23, to remove the project debris that had been left behind for over two months. The homeowner's property is now clear of the project debris.

For the amount I paid, I was expecting to see a perfect installation. It was not prefect, I would say t was decent. I would use them again as they were reliable and courteous, but I would negotiate on the fee.

This man Misha performed a miracle for me! My custom railings came out exactly they way they were supposed to. The price was great and I will definitely hire him again to do more work! Thank you Misha!

Misha is a very nice guy. Very easy to work with. He did the job exactly as we talked about. No surprises. He was reliable and the quality of his work is very nice.

We contracted with MDI Construction to give our kitchen a makeover. The crew was very accommodating and kept the work site clean each day. If I had any concerns, Misha listened and took care of them in a timely manner.

The team was knowledgeable and did an amazing job on our patio and deck. We could not be happier with how it turned out.

Misha and his team have done a couple of projects (garage framing due to wood rot and fixing the deck connection to the house) for us so far, and we are very happy with his work. We already have him scheduled for our deck repair job in a couple of weeks and have no doubts he and his team will do a great job there too. We definitely plan on using him for future carpentry projects. UPDATE: The deck repair went great and we just used Misha and his team again for the interior painting of our home as well as some carpentry and handyman projects. Very happy with the work, and he is now our guy.
