drywall, wallpaper removal
+ 0 moreI called Pete in the fall and he told me he was busy, but would schedule me in if I weren't in a hurry. I wanted the work done before Christmas and he thought he could get to it by then. After Thanksgiving, he called me and said he'd come by and look at the job around 7:30 on Wednesday. He arrived at 7:25. He told me he could start the following week and that the job would take 3 days. I was unsure whether to paint or paper and he recommended paint. He said that once the walls were in good enough condition to paint, if I decided I wanted paper later, that could be easily done. I had hoped to have paint rather than paper, but didn't think anyone could repair the walls well enough for paint. Pete arrived on time, did wonderful work and left no mess. And he's a nice guy too. I had already had several people come in and look at the job, and no one wanted to do it.
Description of Work: Pete worked on my kitchen walls, which were in horrible condition, and made them look like new. They are old plaster walls, which had paper wallpaper, paint and more wallpaper. When I tried to remove it myself, the plaster came off in chunks. He removed everything, drywalled, sanded them smooth and painted the walls. He is a perfectionist, works hard and takes a great deal of care with his craft. He does painting and papering. $30 is his hourly rate - I don't have his final bill yet.
