MULL BROTHERS INC

I called first thing in the morning on June 30th, as I had been without hot water since the previous Friday night. (Good thing it wasn't winter!) They not only came out within an hour, they secured a new unit and installed it the same day! That included emptying the old unit, removing it and installing the new one. The job was done by mid-afternoon. They gave me a quote over the phone, and billed me the same amount. I was very pleased. Last summer they installed a new central air unit for me, did a great job then as well. I just hope the furnace isn't going to go next! But if it does, I will know who to call.

Duck work was creatively and perfectly done. Everything was done to perfection.

Everything up until the actual appointment went very well. However, the day of service I never received a heads up (like most companies) and a man in shorts and a Mull Bro shirt rang my doorbell. Very casually he took a look at our system, when asked if he was going to measure anything (like every other company) he said he didn't need to as we live in a condo and they replaced a few units in the last few years around here (although all our units are different). When asked about when I would hear about a quote he said he would call me. When asked about how soon a unit could be installed if we chose to go with them he said 4-6 weeks... every other company quoted said within 2 weeks. I have yet to hear back from them and its been almost 2 weeks. My guess, he didnt want to take on the job and just gave me the run around. The level of professionalism was rather low and I was disappointed.

They provided a "star-up" service for our A/C....they couldn't get to it until June or July!....I was supposed to be put on a "contact list" for the start-ups and never received a call. I finally kept calling and got an appt. in either June or July (can't remember the exact date.) The first year we used them, their rep that came out to the house, washed the collection cells and said we could put them back in "in about half-an hour"...well since we never had a central A/C, we didn't know that the collection cells can take up to 1 to 2 days (in the sun) to dry out! So on the advice of their rep, we put them back in (no water was dripping, etc) and low and behold mold started to accumulate and I only noticed it when we shut off the system for the year and took out the collection cells to clean them. Now if I want to use the special "collection system" for quality air (my husband and son have asthma), I need to purchase new collection cells that cost $375.00!!!!

They were fantastic! Very friendly and knowledgeable. Took their time explaining my choices for a new boiler including explaining the difference between a boiler and a furnace. They left my basement cleaner than before they got their. They didn't mind me hanging out asking questions during the install, even when the questions may have been silly to some.

Excellent work, clean worksite, good job.

I called them up when our AC unit was not as cold as it should have been. The technician came out and did a full inspection of the system and replaced the filter and recharged the AC unit. Service was quick and professional.

Several years ago, one of the big national outfits (listed on here with a B) came to service my central air. The technician told me that my unit was in such bad shape that he would not even work on it, then tried to talk me into spending over $10,000 on a new system. I joined Angie's List that day and called Mull Brothers based on their reviews. Three years later, my central air is still running fine. Twice I have paid around $100.00 for a basic service; this year I needed a minor repair which I was happy to pay for, trusting that I actually needed it. Have recommended them to friends and will continue to use them.

Everything was excellent and I would hire them again in a heartbeat. The technicians were professional and courteous. The bill came back about $300 under the estimate.

Gas furnace replacement. Went we'll; no problems. Took longer to get the work scheduled than expected.

~Tom Mull came out and explained how a boiler replacement would work. He was courteous and knowledgeable. He had the best price out of the quotes I got. I decided to not replace the boiler with any company after deciding it was not right time to do it. ~I liked Tom and Mull Bros so much from the boiler estimate that I signed up for automatic oil delivery and a boiler service product.

I signed a $199 one year service contract with them and I have not had an oil delivery yet, but they did come and clean my boiler. They are highly recommended on the Angie's List website and I talked to them. They seem pretty good and the owner even came out. I thought that was nice. I am not sure they are the cheapest. They were right on time and were here when they said they would be.

The crew arrived on date and on time. Install was done in a 48 year old home with plaster ceilings. They used fabricated catch basins to "catch" as much of the plaster and dust as humanly possible when cutting for install of the ceiling vents and return. There was virtually no mess when they were done. The install was completed in 1 1/2 days as quoted and everybody was friendly and very professional.

The serviceman checked to ensure the capacitor and unit would work for several minutes. It failed, and he installed an added part called a starter capacitor, which fixed the problem. He explained to me that on my unit, this is a band-aid, and that it is difficult to tell how long it will last - potentially only a few months or perhaps a few years, but that I should expect to replace the unit someday soon. I really appreciated that the serviceman got right down to business upon arriving on time, that he thoughtfully diagnosed the problem, spent time to ensure that the fix would work before leaving my house, and that he explained what he was doing and what to expect in the future. I have no complaints about the service. The price for the service was about what I expected. I felt that I got what I paid for, and that the serviceman was motivated to do a good job for an honest price. I'm grateful to Mull Bros and the serviceman that helped me got cool again.

It could not have gone any better. Tom Mull was very professional and true to his word. He told us that once we signed the contract he would take care of any a/c problems until they actually came to replace the unit. The old unit completely brke down during the worse heat wave of the summer. Tom sent his men immediately. His men were very professional and hard working. They did a great job. They also gave us the best estimate of all the companies I interviewed. I have no reservations in recommending them.

They were very courteous. He came out to the house and gave us an estimation. He was prompt and reliable as far as scheduling. The workers that did the installation were respectful of our property.

Tom Mull provided us with a quote for installation of a central air conditioning system, including duct work. The quote was very competitive and he couldn't not have been more professional or thorough with everything we discussed. We plan to have Mull Brothers install the system, as soon as they can fit us into their schedule.

I'm someone who does a lot of research and receives a lot of quotes before I do any major work. I met with 5 different companies regarding installing central air conditioning and duct work for our home. After having three companies tell me that there was no way to reach a finished walk-in-attic space attached to our master bedroom, Tom came out and showed me how simple it would be to reach that room. Only one other company told me they could get air conditioning into that room and their price was about $1500 higher. Mull Brothers performed the work in a matter of days. The only downside was that the workers somehow managed to damage our storm door while they were here. Tom came out a few days later, fixed the portion of it that he could and then told me to send him the receipt for the part that was needed for the remainder of the repair. It was a hassle to have to deal with but in the long run not the biggest deal and Tom's response was appropriate.

Real positive experience. The owner talked with me on the phone, got an understanding of the problem over the phone. I liked that since I felt he was looking out for me. He didn't just send a tech and bill me, can he doe the job, will they be equipped and have the parts to do the job when they go. He researched some questions we had as a result of the conversation, and quickly followed up. He worked to get out as quickly as possible to the house to do the work. I'm a happy customer and I will buy again should the need arise.

I normally don't give out reviews. However, in this case, I feel compelled to do so. From the beginning, Tom and his crew were fantastic to work with. Prior to the job, I had called the office a few times to ask some questions and get updates on timing. No Voicemail, Tom always took my call when he was in the office. My Dad was in construction and told me the key to a contractor's success is managing expectations. I have to say in this case, Tom was very clear as to how things would go, let me know what to expect and when to expect it, and then made it happen just the way he said it would. Perfect! I really could not say anyting more favorable. Our home was originally a cape that recently had a large addition. Tom's experience and knowledge of installation and the industry, made a difficult installation seem easy. Tom's crew was great. Respectful and very tidy, as they put in long days. At the end of the day, they always cleaned up thoroughly. Most people visiting the house in the evening, would never know that a major project was underway. Project completed in the amount of days he expected. Having completed many large projects throughout the years, I am happy to say that the level of service provided by Mull Brothers was the best I have ever seen. I would not only recommend Mull Brothers to family and friends, but I would insist on it. Price was highly reasonable and lower than most received, and the quality of the work top-notch.

They gave us the best price. They were professional, friendly and completed the work in a timely fashion. Made sure we knew the functions of the new burner.They went the extra mile to come back and fill in a hole in the concrete floor that was left from the removal of the old furnace. In gathering quotes for converting my home (oil heat) to natural gas, I called Mull Bros. to obtain an estimate. Bob Mull called back promptly, and scheduled an assessment for a day within 48 hours of my initial call. He was quick, professional, and knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions with useful information, and good humor. After assessing my home, he responded by telephone with a basic verbal estimate for installing interior gas lines in my home, and purchase and installation of a new gas Lennox furnace. I didn't end up choosing Mull Bros. for my installation, simply because a different company happened to have sooner dates available for the installation. If it wasn't an urgent situation, I would have chosen Mull Bros. The experience was very positive.

Very professional from start to finish. Tom explained all the details of the job and offered some reasonable options. Sal was on time and extremely polite during the installation. Got the job done and explained all the necessaries (for my wife). They also offered $100 discount if I signed up as an oil customer...jumped on that! Highly recommend Mull Bros. for HVAC work.

I own a cape cod style home from the 50's which presented several challenges for installation of duct work. Before I met with Mull Brothers, I had 3 different companies tell me that I'd need two systems in my home to cool my upstairs and downstairs, since it would be too difficult to get the duct work from the attic to the first floor (one company actually wanted to cut through a carrying beam in my basement to bring duct work over to my dining room floor--yikes!!). That's why it was extremely refreshing to hear that Mull Brothers would be able to install one system, and would be able to install ducts to my first floor from the attic with minimal closet intrusion. Tom came out to my house and did a thorough inspection to get the "lay of the land." He showed me approximately where all the vents would go, and where the duct work would be run. The gentlemen who came out to my house for the installation cleaned up after themselves everyday, and asked if I had any questions during the installation. I am extremely happy with the work they did in my house, and have recommended them to my neighbors who are also interested in Central A/C.

I had asked for a quote for a replacement for the whole thing--burner, blower and water heater. Tom Mull was very knowledgeable and didn't pressure me. I opted for just a burner although the price for the whole thing wasn't bad. I also signed up with Mull Brothers for my oil delivery as I was so impressed by Tom. So far-so good. they threw in the annual tune up and sent me a thank you card.
