Description of Work: They changed all the locks on our new house, installing new deadbolts and re-keying several doors. They were very accommodating of my schedule, taking an appointment on a Sunday morning because that was the only time I was going to be there. I thought the costs of the new locks were a bit pricey, but the convenience factor definitely won out!

Description of Work: Dan did a fine job retrofitting my front door, routing the opening to accept a Baldwin mortise lock to replace the previous (cheapo) tubular lock. It took him 3.5 hours for which he charged $350.

Description of Work: A dead bolt was not functioning properly, requiring the entire lock to be disassembled. The technician contacted the manufacturer to ensure for the proper way to fix the problem. Description of Work: I wanted to replace the locks in my newly occupied home. Daniel handled the service call. He inspected the property and offered me a couple good solutions. He didn't push any products and appeared to want to give me a practical solution. Given my lock configuration, he was able to rekey my entire property in 15 minutes. No complaints.

 + -1 moreThis turned out to be a wonderful experience. Daniel contacted me almost immediately after my request and came the following day, I thought just to give an estimate. The broken door hardware turned out to be a much more difficult job than at first appeared, but he got right to work on it, and wrestled with it until he got the door open and working again, better than in years! For all that difficulty and time, I thought his charge was much more than fair, especially in this area! Daniel, a.k.a. and ldquo;Jake the Locksmithand rdquo;, is a highly professional young man, and I would hire him again in a heartbeat!
Description of Work: Exterior French door installed 20 years ago never worked right and constantly hung up on opening and closing. Last year a part in the handle had broken altogether, making it impossible to open the door at all, turning the door into a large sealed window. A previous contractor had walked away from the job. Daniel got it open and working again.

 + -1 moreI called at 9 am on a Saturday for someone to come install a deadbolt for the front door. Daniel said he planned on being in the shop from 11-2 and he'd be by after that. 2 pm rolled around and he arrived. He had suggested we pick up a schlage set since the quality is great and it would be more expensive if he provided it. It took about 45 minutes to do the entire thing - from drilling the holes in the door to chipping out the door frame for the bolt to go in. He was very thorough in making sure the mechanism worked properly and explained how to program it. While here, he took a look at the patio door lock my husband had hurriedly installed (incorrectly!) before bed last night and was able to fix it within a few minutes. Considering the short notice, the price was fair. The quality of the work was great. He cleaned up his mess, carefully laying down padding and folding it up neatly to contain wood chips and fiberglass bits.

Our house was built in 1806 so there were lots of non-standard things and he went out of his way to find solutions that worked and that we liked the look of. His installation was quick and very good. He was also a pleasure to work with.
