Description of Work: Positively Electric have done a few items for me, this by far the biggest, wiring up a finished attic. They were very clear to do everything by the book and to adhere to the requirements of the inspection. The work was professionally done, they worked well with the other contractors and they cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend them as they clearly know what they need to do, and do it well.

Description of Work: Problem: Our gas furnace stopped working. The gas company came to inspect it and found that the level of electrical power was incorrect. I contacted Positively Electric, they came to our house the next day, quickly identified the problem and fixed it. The issue was a faulty circuit breaker. The price was reasonable. They also gave me advice on a few other areas, such as a generator. I will be using them again in the near future.

Description of Work: Joseph came over the day prior to give an estimate of time and cost to install a chandelier in a dinning room where there had not been one prior. It is an old house that has been renovated somewhat so it was challenging to say the least. He was so considerate not to cause any damage and to keep costs to a minimum. He and his assistance Ken were there the following day at the scheduled time and did a wonderful job. They were highly professional, clean, thoughtful and very creative in their solutions to the challenges presented in this case. We are going to be using them for a much bigger job we have coming up and highly recommend them for your needs!

Description of Work: Replaced attic exhaust fan. Joseph arrived on time, had everything he needed for the job, and charged a reasonable price. + 0 moreJoseph came to look at the space to be sure what was needed and asked to see the new chandeleier so that he could make sure it had everything he needed. He promptly gave me an price to hang. On day he was supposed to do the work, he did forget to call in advance to remind me what time he would be there - but a quick call to him solved that. He was on time, quick and complete and made sure everything was exactly the way we wanted it. He cleaned up everything and we were pleased with the service.
Description of Work: Removed old chandeleier and replaced with new one in high ceiling hallway.

+ 2 moreJoseph and his crew worked steadily the whole time they were here, did a perfect job and cleaned up after themselves. What distinguishes Joseph from other excellent electricians is that he has excellent lighting design skills and he will tell you not to do work when it doesn't benefit you. We were going to put in recessed lighting in a downstairs family room and he told us to wait until we had the furniture bought and arranged exactly as we wanted it so the lighting would be best placed. We had a similar issue in that we were moving cabinets in the kitchen; he installed what we need but told me to hold off the rest until we had renovated. I found that he arranged our lights so they look as if they were part of the original house design. And he's a delight to work with!
Description of Work: Joseph and his crew put in recessed lighting in three rooms, changed switches, fixed faulty grounding, installed a ceiling fan, installed a special front light timer that automatically goes on at dusk and off at a set hour, replaced wall plugs.

+ -1 moreJoe cam out to check the problem the morning after I called him. Our box had some pretty serious water damage, so they moved some people around to fit us in the next day. It took two people an entire day to complete the work. We had a little water coming in after the work was done. Joe came out that same day to take care of the problem.
Description of Work: They installed a new electrical box, some light fixtures and ran new connections for our furnace and hot water heater.

+ 1 moreHe installed all recessed lights defective and never replaced them. All the wiring in the kitchen island was left undone and none of the plugs worked. Hot wires were left hanging inside the island. Bathroom floor heat wasn't laid properly and the limestone floor on top is all cracking. He was always late and never completed anything on time. He was finally fired after many months of leaving things undone. He was a cheat. His work was unsafe and sloppy.
Description of Work: We had a renovation on a 1940 custom Cape. He was to follow all architectural plans and do all electrical wiring as well as installing all lighting; recessed and surface. He did all appliance hook up for the oven, dryer, microwave and in-island refrigerator. He replaced wiring from the house to the street. He did new circuit breakers. He installed steam shower and floor heat in the bathroom.
