What I can say is that shawn is a talented visionary with a keen eye for landscape design. My wife was extremely pleased with the work and they were reasonably timely in the completion of the work. This work was performed in the summer of 2009 and our front yard still looks as good as it did the day he finished. I was especially impressed that a couple years later, he called and asked if he could bring some potential customers by to look at his work and when he arrived he noticed that there was some settling of the pavers(something neither I nor my wife would have noticed) and the next week he had is crew there readjusting the pavers. I would definitely hire him again.

Sean worked with us to stay within our budget and still use quality materials and create a walkway we loved. His crew did a fantastic job, and finished in almost no time. They graded the area perfectly and brought our walkway up to meet our front porch seamlessly. They planted grass seed in the areas they had dug up, and even planted some in some bare patches on the lawn. The finished project is beautiful!

After being disappointed with two different landscapers in the past, I decided to join Angie's List to see if I could find a reliable and honest contractor. I found Upton Inc and after reading several positive reviews I decided to send them an e-mail about our project. With in a few days Shawn sent an e-mail back and we set up a time for him to come over and give us a quote. Shawn did show up on time and he was extremely friendly and professional. He walked us through several options regarding our project and my guess is he spent about an hour with us, which I thought was great and my wife and I were finally feeling like we found a good contractor. Shawn said he would send us a few different quotes as we discussed a few different options for our project. He said that he would have us the quotes with in 1 week. Two and a half weeks later, (red flag) after I just about given up on him, I receive an e-mail saying that he was sorry for the delay and he attached 3 quotes to the e-mail. His prices seemed fair and I called him to confirm a couple of details and I told him I wanted to book him to schedule for the project. I even said to him that he could stop by and I would give him a deposit if needed. Shawn said that he needed to send me two updated quotes and then we would proceed. He said that he would have those quotes sent to me by the end of that business day, which was a Friday. On Saturday I sent him and e-mail because I did not receive the new quotes. I never got a response. Then on Sunday, I sent a 2nd e-mail....again no response. Then I thought, "Ok maybe he had an issue or something so I would hear back in a day or so". Well, today is Tuesday and again, no quote, no communication etc... I sent him a 3rd e-mail saying that I was going to look for someone else. It's disappointing because he did seem like someone that would have worked out for us and we have 2 other jobs we needed to have done next season as well. I am in the service industry myself professionally, and the one thing that is soooooo important is good communication with the customer. If there is an issue or a delay, as long as you are honest and communicate well, then 99.9% of the time customers understand and things can be worked through. What I have experienced over and over again with contractors is that they are terrible in this respect and the customer more times than not have to chase down the contractor and it makes the experience not so nice. All Shawn had to do was communicate if there was an issue and I would have over looked it. But if I have to chase him down just to get a quote and chase him to give him a deposit, what do you think is going to happen once he has my money? I am not taking that chance.....

I was very pleased that we had the option to used reclaimed bricks for our project, and that he did his best to remove and replant our existing trees and plants when possible. Within about 10 days, our small project was completed. It involved taking down the back fence (Shawn spoke with the landlord of the apartment building there to get permission to use their parking lot as an entrance to our yard), then putting up the back fence again when he was done. During the project, some of our initial ideas about where to put trees and plants didn't look as good once they were done, and Shawn was great about replanting these. The backyard looks great now. We actually took our wedding photos in the yard, and they came out beautiful!

He was very professional and did the work on time. He came on a Monday and finished on a Friday. He was very meticulous in his work. Not one paver has moved due to ice or anything. He did a great job!

Overall there were little to no concerns during the entire project. If any thing arose it was addressed and taken care of ASAP. The quality and workmanship speaks for itself and cannot be described in words. As far as Shawn Upton himself he is true professional and will go the extra mile to help you achive total satisfaction with breaking the bank in the process. I look forward to working with him and his company for my future hardscape and landscaping needs.

The project went smoothly and was completed within the time promised. The workers were competent, efficient and neat. They did more work than we had agreed upon with no additional cost. Overall the project turned out better than I expected it would.

Shawn Upton is a gifted landscaper and designer who is able to see the big picture. When Shawn first met with us to discuss his ideas, I was a bit skeptical but I'm so glad we gave him "artistic license" because the result was amazing. The large number of people who have stopped to tell us how good the yard looks is a clear indicator of Shawn's ability. Shawn is a perfectionist who oversees every detail. Shawn and his team are punctual, professional and good about clean-up. Shawn has followed up on everything we asked for, so much so that we have just contracted with him for leaf removal and possibly snowplowing. We would recommend Upton Inc. without hesitation. Outstanding company, oiutstanding work.

Over all, a great experience. He was on time, professional and responsive. Will definitely use him again in the future

He had many good ideas that he implemented that were much better than our original concept. Very high quality workmanship. We will have him do more work on drainage and lawn.

This company came out and quoted in a timely fashion and performed the work in a very professional manor. They actually did extra work without delays to make the project work better. I am very pleased with their work.
