VIKING FUEL OIL CO

I was billed for oil that was never delivered. I called and spoke to them, they sent over a technician claiming my tank was broken. Once it was confirmed that it was not a tank problem they sent over another technician a week later. Their very own employee said that it was impossible that the amount I was billed for would even fit in my tank. It took several calls to even get a refund. If I had not been incredibly vigilant about this I would never had known and paid an extra 400 dollars on oil- for nothing. I WILL NEVER deal with them again, and neither should you... Unless you like giving away money.

It's ongoing. They come once a year to do inspections and I get my fuel oil from them. I need a new one so I guess I need to call them. It is just one person. The cleanup was fine, they didn't cause any problems at all. They've been my fuel provider for years.

I would use them again, I do all the time. I have a contract with them. I am not there when they do it.

They did fine with that. Very professional and very quick. They did a great job.

They're a small company. They're figuring their way out of things, but they're doing alright. Not superstar but not terrible. The reason I gave them a B is because they forgot to deliver oil a couple of weeks ago in the middle of a really bad cold snap. Otherwise their an A. They're a decent oil company. They're a good community supporter. They're fairly punctual and they own up to their mistakes. I haven't come in contact with the drivers. They come in and come out, I haven't seen them.

Service person arrived on time, was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I have had Viking since 2002 and have never had any issues if I have needed service, and have never run out of oil.

We have used them for several years. Their service is very consistant. We have automatic delivery with a service contract, and have never run out of fuel. They have very competitive pricing as well. We are very happy with their service and prices.

They called me back very quickly and came out right away. It turned out to be an easy problem - a different company had unplugged the pump. They plugged it in and reset it and were kind enough to pump out the water that was gathering in a huge tub I had pushed underneath the leak.

I have used them for about two years. They are fast to deliver when I call them and tell them I need it regardless of the weather.

We have been with Viking since 1992. Twice the delivery person has broken our gate opening due to laziness. I can not understand how they did not know to open gate properly.

They oil delivery is on an automatic schedule. Their annual service has minimized problems with an aging heating system. The few times we had a problem with the furnace not working they were here to fix in a very quick time. May not be the cheapest, but are professional and timely.

They do everything well and are always there. They are exceedingly reliable and are good business people because they know when to discount. I have known the guy that owns it for over 50 years so I guess that makes a little difference. They are as honest as can be and they have a good heart. They always have somebody available, 24/7; if I have a problem they will have somebody there within an hour after getting my call. They never stick it to me on the price of the oil and they are decent people. Until the guy sells the company I will be with them until the end of time.

I used to have this guy in the past. Luckily, I had changed from that company. He's a very pushy person. He just let himself into my house. He would leave a delivering slip and business cards at my front door. I also noticed other negative comments about him on Angie's List. Overall, their price was fair, but they had a bad reputation.

Viking WAS A VENDOR FOR HEATING OIL SERVICE. I i never knew when I was going to get oil. They would wait until my tank was almost empty then fill it up with a very high bill as to a smaller bill if you top it off, and this when price kept change from week to week. Please do not trust this company. You will have to watch them constantly if you complain they will simply say it was the driver. What ever you do don't use this company they will cheat you.

I never knew when I was going to get oil deliveries.and the oil that I got was of poor quality I had to call a contractor to clean furnace which was only one year old. also they will cut service without notice.

Overall this company has very mixed reviews. Better Business Bureau does not give them good reviews but that's only one source. Lew the owner is flattering and will conveniently meet you as soon as you bought your house. Like I mentioned in the "services performed" section, you pay a premium in oil costs with this company to compensate for fast quality repair service when something goes wrong in the dead of winter. I have to admit that all the maintenance performed by Viking subcontractors has been very good. The value of this fact shouldn't be underestimated. I have read reviews indicating that if you decide to change fuel oil company and you are still under contract with Viking they will immediately send out a truck to fill up your oil tank and stick you with the final bill. So be sure to have your oil tank filled up by someone else before deciding to call it quits with Viking. Beware.

I don't remember how much I used to spend with them. I always found their service reasonable. I would consider using them in the future if I needed to.

We were warned by our real estate agent that Viking Oil would be aggressive to win our business. We closed on our house at 3:00pm and then went right to our new house, and at 3:45, someone from Viking knocked on our door to "welcome us to the neighborhood" (we have no idea how he found us so fast). He took a look at our furnace, and he put a Viking Oil sticker directly on top of the prevoius oil company's sticker. He also told us that the previous oil company was bought by a huge Canadian company, and that "Viking was local". A co-worker also told me that shortly after a Viking representative dropped off information to his house, a Viking Oil truck showed up one day and just started filling their tank, without an agreement in place. He came to an agreement and is a customer of theirs now. To be completely fair, this is not a review of their work or their prices. We just had too many people warn us about them, and wanted to pass it on. The oil company we did choose was very professional when we told them the story, but grinned and said that they had heard this before.

I bought a furnace from them several years ago. They are very good. They are very responsive; once on the Christmas Eve we had them come out and fix the furnace. They are pretty dependable. I have used them for more than 20 years.

I can prepay and get special prices. I find them very reliable. I get very good service from them.

I have had a very good experience with them. They always deliver on time and the one time I had an overfilled tank, they came out and cleaned it up with the problems. Their prices are competitive and they do have emergency delivery available and if you ever want or need to talk to the owner he does call you back.
