The project ran months beyond the contracted completion date. The mason Magee hired to perform work actually made matters worse, to the point where we had to find a separate mason to tear down and remediate problems caused by Magee’s mason. In my view, Magee lacked the expertise and resources to see the project through to the end. What Magee views as “completed” does not, in my opinion, meet a reasonable standard of professionalism. I do not plan to hire this company to complete any more work on my property, even though, there is a lot more work that my family needs finished.

Magee Company did a fantastic job from start to finish. They got me the quote very quickly and in a professional manner. Once the work began the roofers worked VERY hard and efficiently. All the workers were very polite . I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly they finished. The work was done neatly and correctly. I will definitely recommend them to others.

Work was done as requested, punctual, clean, informed me every step of the way. Removed old materials, even re-seeded grass around area of the new post and rail fence, which I didn't expect. Magee has done repairs for me for years and they have never gone over the estimate.

Things started off fine enough. A representative came out to assess the work and said we would have an estimate by the end of the week. We never received one and had to call several times before we got a response. We did get a proposal later that night, but it was confusing and missing some of the key work we wanted done (porch restoration). Repeated attempts to reach them went without even the courtesy of a returned phone call. VERY sloppy and unprofessional. Don't waste your time.

From the large commercial flat roof to the 6 family roof down to the small repairs we were very happy and satisfied with the projects. Their prices were fair and the work was excellent. Would definitely recommend them and will use them again on our other properties.

I hired Magee for snow removal and payed an upfront fee for this service. I do not recommend pre paying for service as you are not a priority for the company once they have your money. The first small snow storm they came out in a reasonable timeframe and did an ok job. When there were larger storms my tenants would call me 10-12 hours after the snow had stopped and could not get in or out of the driveway. Every time it snowed I was on the phone complaining and got nothing but attitude. I let them know up front that I have other properties that I was looking for services if they performed well on this one but that didn't seem to matter. One of the last storms of the season I noticed some damage to my siding. I didn't feel like dealing with them and decided I would repair myself and never call them again. I have similar services on other properties with local smaller contractors and have always had a pretty good experience but decided to go with a larger contractor to get better service. I was wrong. I would not recommend using Magee for snow removal.

Always show up as promised. Very professional crew. Bathroom looks perfect,no issues. Custom vanity perfect fit,excellent tile work. Paint job was good,but needed some touch ups which the crew supervisor came back and spent several hours doing. Very responsive even after the job was paid. The electrician is a long term employee, did an excellent job , he even hung new light fixtures through the house as part of the painting job. One small job done for $200, was to fix trim around the garage doors, it was found that due to shoddy work before by a and quot;handymanand quot; the wood underneath was rotting,would have extended to the support beam for the second floor if not fixed, the wood was replaced, for a minimal extra cost. That was the only time the cost was more than the written estimate.

From beginning of project to the end, we were extremely satisfied with Magee and Companies. We first met with Reno, who managed the entire project. He was always accessible via email and when not in the office, Linda handled our calls and answered our questions. To kickoff our project, Reno met us at the condo, asked some questions about what we wanted to do and then measured the condo. He provided us with an estimate within 2 days of our first meeting. We chose Magee because not only because they were highly recommended to us by our friends but we were quite impressed with the professionalism and timeliness of our first visit with Reno. Next, we stopped at the Magee showroom in West Hartford, CT where we chose our new windows and cabinets for the kitchen. They were ordered and within 5 weeks, work began. We met Richard and Tom who did most of the renovations from beginning to end and were so impressed by the hard work of these two men and others who were all very professional and just as hard working. Every day they arrived promptly at 7 a.m. and finished at 4 p.m. with little or no breaks. The entire project took one month. We are so thankful for the quality of their work is A+ and feel they had our best interest in mind. They really mean it when they say, and quot;we'll take good care of youand quot;. We would use this company again and have already recommended them to our friends and family. Our heartfelt thanks to Magee and Companies for everything!

Things started off well. A quick appointment was made, and their representative came on site to check out what we wanted done, and while there was a delay, a phone call appropriately put us at ease. The representative told us that he was going on vacation so it would be a couple of weeks before he would be able to get back to us with numbers. A full month later, we had not received any contact from them. I called to find out what was going on, and was told that I would receive the estimate and plans in an email the following Tuesday. A full two weeks later, I had not received anything, and I called leaving a message on the representative's voice mail. I have yet to receive a call back. Not terribly professional.

I was extremely unhappy with the siding they did on my house. Very sloppy job. They had to come back and fix some of the trim and finish the overhang over my front door. They returned again a 2nd time to repaint the front door. The first time it was painted incorrectly and had to be redone. The 3rd time I called them they would not come out unless I paid a fee due to the fact it just past the 1 yr warranty. However I explained the trim around the window was not flush and I was getting bees in between the trim and windows. They told me to call an exterminator not their problem. So I decided to join Angie's list and get someone else to fix my problem. Another company came out and advised me that the trim was done incorrectly and they also found the the windows wells were blocked causing the rain to back up and could cause damage eventually. They fixed all the problems. Even though it cost me money it was well worth it. Also has to have an electrician to fix my doorbell and garage keypad since they also shorted them out. I would never use them again. I have found a smaller company to fix my problem and they took takes pride in their and stood by their work.

It went very well. They are very professional. The only real problem we had was that we were supposed to have it done in November of the year before, but the snow storm kicked everything back 6 months. Everybody was in that situation though. Everything went as they said it would during the project. They were on schedule and on budget. They did an excellent job on clean up and follow-up of small issues that popped up afterwards.

They arrived with a team of workers to remove the 2 layers. It took a full day to remove the old layers, and all debris was cleaned up prior to them leaving for the day. They recycle what they can, so we liked that we were doing what we could to be and quot;greenand quot; about the job. The next day they installed the new roof, reflashed the chimney and added a zinc strip to help with the moss and lichen problem we have. They said it wasn't necessary due to the way the new shingles are treated, but we'd rather be safe than sorry. They came on the 3rd day and took care of the gutter that had been crushed by a falling branch during the snow storm last October...oh, and they also fixed our siding that was hit by the same branch (Magee did our siding and windows in 2005). At the end of each day a Magee supervisor was on site to ask if we had any concerns/questions. They always left the yard clean at the end of the day and worked hard throughout the day. I'd definitely use them again (as I said before they did our siding and windows). We also had quotes from 2 other roofers and neither of them mentioned repairing the crushed gutter ????. Turner was far more expensive and LA Rich was the same price. We felt that Magee was competitive and fair. Their service is excellent and follow up for questions has always been quick, pleasant and we would hire them again.

It started out pretty good. The first clean up was OK. My tenant took pictures and it was acceptable but not first rate. They continued to do the yard work until the big snow out east in October. Then it switched to snow removal until 1/21/12. After this point they performed no services even though there was additional storms and one that was 4-5and quot; in February/March. I believe part of that had to do with their belief that we were looking to not pay them based on an email I received from their General Manager Reno. My simple inquiry into what services had and were being performed turned into my worst nightmare. They seemed to feel I was looking for a way out of paying them - which I was not - we are in Wisconsin and the property is in Connecticut - I just wanted assurance they were doing what we hired them to do. To date and after that point we had paid our balance in full every 2 months (their terms were monthly but we paid in full each time we paid to make our account current - that seemed to work for them because they didn't say anything until the end of April 2012 - we started service in April 2011). We paid through the end of March but only received services until 1/21/12 (per their own logs they provided us). In trying to get an explanation of why they hadn't plowed or mowed the yard, we had insults hurled at us and threats of collection (we owed $159 at the time - fraction of the overall bill). We tried to deal with the office manager first - her emails were insulting and threatening - claiming we didn't understand how they worked (she was right - we thought they would perform services and we would pay for them - not the case) and threatening us with lawyeres for the $159 balance.My tenant sent pictures of our property and the grass was way overgrown, no clean up had been done and it was in general disarray. My husband tried to talk to the President but he had the same attitude - even after seeing the pictures. Instead of trying to come to a common conclusion he threatened my husband and gave him 5 days to pay the $159 we owed and even put a penalty on it. We paid the balance plus the penalty without question - thinking it might compel them to live up to their end of the bargin. No such luck - we were wrong about their intentions.In addition we asked for a quote to do electrical work. Once we accepted the quote they called back and said 'you know that this is just an estimate and that it will be double this amount to start'. What? How does an experienced electrician get it so wrong.We also asked for a quote on a porch repair. At first they said they were too busy to do the work. After calling for several months they finally admitted it was a bigger job then they could handle - even though the person that came to our house originally said - sure we can quote that. Why not just be honest up front? It cost us extra thousands of dollars because of the time we lost waiting for their quote. And then I had to call many time and no one would tell us - we can't do it - why not just be honest up front? I guess we are niave - as the office manager suggested.If you read our BBB complaint and their response you will see they weren't afraid to use the insults and language not appropriate for a professional organization in their response. I would not recommend them.

We requested quotes on several projects that we are considering for our home. I was contacted right away and set up an appointment within a few days. Their rep arrived as scheduled and on time and spent all the time needed to discuss all the projects and to offer suggestions. He was very helpful and pricing seems reasonable. We have not yet decided what we will actually have done.

The job went ok. There was a bit of delay for getting the vanity. They come out quickly for the estimate. They seem honest and the estimates are pretty fair. They clean up their work space.

Very responsive with establishing initial contact and getting contracts reworked as needed. Some trouble with preparation and delay in getting the roofing section done, but job was top shelf with an immediate hurricane stress test which it passed with flying colors. The gentlemen who did the painting was AMAZING with the kids and did a phenomenal job from drywall repair to finishing the baseboards. Everyone was super nice about noisy kids and dogs. Used very high quality products and had no problem with flexibility in how the job was done.

Magee does use subcontractors. The work was performed on-time and to my satisfaction. I would use them again.

I made an appointment. They said they would be here Thursday or Friday. I called Thursday. They said maybe Friday. Friday they said "we'll call you back". They never showed and I never heard from them again. I had a lead in my house caused by ice dams and the whole experience was very stressful. I wish they had just been honest that they were over-booked. Because I was waiting on them to show up, it was several days before I was able to arrange for a service provider who did show up!

They were reasonable and that's why I decided to go with them. I ended up being very disappointed with the company. There was nothing in particular that happened, but I was not happy overall. I've had terrible experience with them. It should have been good, but it was horrible. The siding was a nightmare because when I had asked to his face if he does the job or if he hires contractors to do the job, he told me that they do the job themselves. He also said that he has his own people and the morning of the siding, he called and told me that he was going to be late and when I asked about the rest of the team, he said that he was doing it himself. It's then that I asked who he was and he said that he was a contractor and he didn't show up till noon when he was supposed to be here at 8. It took him six weeks and he did not know how to do the trim work and my husband was out there telling him how to do the trim work. He did such a poor job that I had to withhold the last payment with the company to get them to come out and fix some work. I am very sorry that I did work with them and it was one man to do the entire job that was on a contract and I was very disgusted. His price was low compared to everybody else, but I gave the job to a local guy. The quality was bad. I had to fight with them and then I found out that he had done the siding of my husband's friend and they had the same problem. They had to get an attorney to get them to come and fix it. I used to hear his name all the time in the area, but what he des is, he just puts signs on people's lawn as his friends. They told us that the guy would be there everyday and he would leave here by 3'O clock everyday, but our siding was ridiculous. The owner actually called and screamed at me and he screamed at my husband. I didn't believe that he was screaming at me when I called him and told him that and all the stuff weren't done and he's just left and he's done. He started screaming at me and when I told my husband, he called him and he started screaming at my husband too. I had the most wonderful guys come out here that I would have loved to have given the job to, but they were small contractors and I hired a big company because I was worried if I had a problem with the roof or the siding they would be able to back up the warranty if they are in business forever. I didn't hire the small contractors and I wish I had because they were really nice guys and I think they would have done a better job. It did take two weeks to come out and finally fix what they didn't do right which was disgusting. My husband had to show them what was wrong and had to fight with them to fix it. I spent a lot of money with them. I had to borrow the money and this was a big deal for me for the next 20 years. I would not recommend them at all. Anybody could call me anytime and I would be the first to tell them not to use this company. One needs to pay check on a big company apparently. They really didn't care.

Magee's quote was good compared with other roofing quotes we'd received. The crew was professional and quick, and installed the roof in 1 1/2 days. We were pleased with the service and would use them again.

Well, the work has not been contracted yet. I have no idea what the quality of the work might be. However, given the long wait for any response regarding written assessment and estimate, I'm a little worried about the reliability of any future work. I have to say I have never had to wait this long for paperwork without having some contact from the company. At this point, I'm just assuming they are not interested in doing the job. If so, a call back to that effect would have been appreciated.

THEY DID A VERY GOOD JOB. I THOUGHT THEY WERE PUNCTUAL. WE HAD ONE PROBLEM WITH THEIR WORK AND THEY CAME RIGHT BACK AND FIXED IT. THEY CLEANED ALL THE SCRAPS UP. WE HAVE USED THEM IN THE PAST.

THEY DIDN'T LEAVE ANY MESS AROUND. WE HAD LOOKED AROUND AT FIVE OR SIX OTHER COMPANIES AND THIS WAS THE LOWEST IN PRICE. THEY DID GOOD WORK, BUT DIDN'T OFFER ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW WE MIGHT IMPROVE UPON OUR HOUSE. ALTOGETHER THEY WERE AVERAGE.
