Linda P Black Interiors

Linda and I have worked together on three separate houses spanning the last 35 years. She is the only person I think of when I want to update my residence in any way. I trust he expert advise and skilled tradesmen she provides. Simply put I love the results and I would highly recommend her to everyone!

Linda Black is horrible. We were referred to her by our contractor and was hoping to find an easy-to-work with interior decorator that could help us pick out some material (i.e., tiles, granites, marble, etc.) for our new home. During our 1st meeting, we met with her for about an hour. She told us then that she would be charging us for about 1.5 hours of her time as she had done some prep work prior to our meeting. We agreed that was fair. Then, we got the bill. We were absolutely disgusted. She told us that her rate was $85 per hour, so we were expecting a bill for about $130. We were totally disgusted when she charged us $500. She said "well, after our meeting, I had to speak with this person and that person, and your contractor and I wrote up our design plan, and that all takes time." Since I was 9 months pregnant and had no energy to argue with her, we reluctantly paid the bill. We didn't want to contact her again but we needed some questions answered about the dining room design. So, we reluctantly contacted her a couple of weeks later. She met with us for one hour at the home and she told us that she would need to bill us for the time that it would take her to come up with a design plan. We agreed. Again, estimating that we would receive a bill for about $130. And again, she overcharged us with a bill for another $500. As we were disgusted with how she overcharged us, we asked her to not get involved any more. But, she found excuses for returning to the house and talking with plumbers and tile people and she charged us! I sent her many texts, I called her numerous times asking her to not enter my property. But she would find excuses to go in and talk to people and overcharge us. She told me that she had talked with the tile person and she charged me for 30-45 minutes of her time when the question that the tile guy needed answered literally took 2 seconds. She was trespassing and charging us her design service fees! When I spoke with her to tell her that we were only going to pay for her services that we had asked for and therefore was only going to pay her for time that she took to design the dining room. She told me that she was taking me to small claims court. Not only that, she is a horrible designer. She designed for a 16" backsplash of tile around the tub when the space can physically only accomodate 6". She was off by TEN INCHES! How does that happen?!?! She contacted us again MANY MANY times asking if everything was going alright. She kept texting me and calling to see if I needed her services. PLEASE LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKES AND DO NOT HIRE HER.
