The company was very prompt in responding to my initial call. They started the demolition of the old driveway the next dayand the old retaining walls were repaired and the driveway was paved with beautiful pavers. The company owners and workers are very professional and the area was cleaned up even better than before. This is a beautiful final ptoduct.

JD Construction did an excellent job. They advised me on what was a permanent fix and what really didn't need to be done. Other contractors only suggested cosmetic fixes, however JD gave me permanent solutions at a price in my budget. They were great during the job, always coming on time and finishing within the agreed upon timeframe. They moved everything in my basement to do the work and then put it all back perfectly. I hardly knew they were in the house. I found them to be respectful, honest and trustworthy. I highly recommend them.

I called and made an appointment for 8/27/15 at 5pm with James to meet at a home I am purchasing. He did not show up until 5:30pm. Ok...maybe it was a long day but a phone call saying he was running late would have been nice. He arrived with his brother and driving very nice truck with enclosed trailer. They were very pleasant and seemed very knowledgeable. We walked the entire property looking at the various projects and I was impressed with their knowledge and variety of options for the various projects. I had only one concern after our meeting. We were discussing running some drainage and being a new resident in CT I am not totally familiar with the codes. I asked if you were allowed to clear cut drains in this area and he responded just do whatever you want. It wasn't worth going down to pull permits for this small issue and no one was going to say anything. This was the only red flag. I was leaving for vacation and we setup a date and time to meet at the house to review the estimate and discuss in more detail. The appointment was for 9/12 at 9am. He never showed up. I tried to call multiple times and each time got a recorded message stating that this number was not accepting phone calls at this time. I then sent him a text message with no response. I decided to leave as it was now 9:30am. His business address was close by so I decided to drive by his office and see if anyone was there. The address does not exist and if it did it would be in a residential neighborhood. I clearly will not be using their services but question how this business is even on Angie's List?? At this point I am not sure who is writing the reviews on this company and I am very disappointed at having my time wasted and find it hard to believe that I am the first person this has happened to.

Excellently. The time between demolition and replacement was about 5 weeks--longer than i'd anticipated, but with the rain we had and the wet conditions, it didn't surprise me at all. The stone wall work was stunning--solid, stable and beautiful, looked like it had STILL been there for 100 years, but was sturdy. The driveway is great--perfectly sloped for runoff without flooding my garage, and they'd dug up five or six layers of asphalt. They cleaned up VERY well, took their time and were cautious about my ornamental trees and other surrounding (and recently built) retaining walls (if i'd known about them, i would've had them do the walls). JD and his brother were gentlemen, and their teams were polite, gracious and professional. No concerns at all. I even tipped them for their work.

They quoted the job and started immediately. The timeline that we were quoted was followed exactly as they stated.

The work JD performed was on time and above our expectations. The masons used great care to make the patio look brand new. The drainage will prevent future water build up and the overall look is fantastic.

The job went very well - quick and thorough. The owners were on premises both days and kept me apprised of the progress. My property is almost a century old and repairs to both the interior and exterior can present quirky challenges. I've had a lot of work done over the last 15 years and especially appreciate contractors, like JD Construction, who educate me about my choices and provide an array of possible options at different price points. This particular project also entailed some drainage and retaining wall issues and I much benefited from the Delaney brothers' thoughtful input. on how I might address them. Their price was very competitive.

See above. JD has not paid me the $1,624.80 owed me per the Small Claims Notice of Judgement.

JD Construction did an amazing job on my grandparents driveway. It made it easier to shovel and clean and organize. Walking up and down our driveway is now easier when before it used to be harder. After this harsh weather we were very pleased to see that our driveway held up amazingly. I would highly recommend them to friends, families, and other people who are looking into getting their driveway done. Their customer service was beyond amazing and we couldn't be happier.

We had our driveway completely redone. So lucky to have found JD Construction. who were .experienced in doing stone driveways. Now it is a beautiful stone drive bordered by granite blocks. JD Construction did a great job in working with us to design the driveway. The job was done on time, workers were excellent and we are delighted with the end result. The owners of the company continuously checked in on the job to be sure the job was being done to our expectations. We continue to get many compliments!!

I recently purchased a house in West Hartford, I had an issue with my driveway and the two sidewalks that were in need of repair asap. Being new to the area I was unsure of who to use to take care of my issues. I was recommended to call JD Construction who specializes in paving and masonry. I called and spoke with James Delaney who stopped by the same day to take a look. We agreed on a very fair price and he said he would be back that Friday to take care of everything. Thursday at work I received a call that they had finished up early at another job and asked if they could start on my house. I said that's perfectly fine!! I arrived home around 3:30 and couldn't believe it. Sidewalks were complete, driveway was just being finished up, everything looked great!! I was amazed how quickly they finished. On top of the work they had to remove a fence and shrubs to complete the job. I was very pleased with their work and very impressed. I was able to finally park both vehicles in the driveway with ease. I would certainly recommend JD construction to anyone looking for a very professional job completed quickly and priced fairly.

Gave a call. They came out discussed job with me including price. Came to mutual agreement. Work was done professionally, ontime, no surprizes, and quality work. Very satisfied.

Walkway was done well; skim coat fair. Cement was spattered over outside of garage and on bricks and cement foundation of house; and on newly paved driveway. Driveway was permanently stained. JD agreed to clean up the spattering and stains on the side of the garage and house; which he has not done to this date despite several requests. JD was supposed to send someone to seal the driveway. This was scheduled in the spring of 2014. I rearranged my schedule, and his contractor didn't show up. This was repeated a second time and the contractor failed to show again. I then learned that my driveway should not be sealed because it was too steep and sealing would make it slipperier in rain and snow. I obtained an estimate of $400 from my general contractor to clean up the messes as best he could. I relayed this to JD who has refused to reimburse me this amount. Instead, he showed up unannounced one day with his contractor. I told JD I didn't want h is contractor to seal the driveway, but I expected a refund of $400 and why. I made several additional calls and left messages. I have not been reimbursed to this day. November 11, 2014

JD Construction was OUTRAGEOUSLY UNPROFESSIONAL to me!! JD Construction was recommended to me by a well-meaning friend to assess my driveway in Oct, 2013. Patrick Delaney, brother the Owner of JD Construction, James Delaney, came to my house, looked at my driveway and recommended that JD dig up and re-pave/patch two areas of the driveway, then seal the entire driveway. He gave me a verbal estimate which sounded like a good price so I said to come back and do it ASAP (before winter) - he did not provide me with a written estimate. I didn't hear from JD for a couple weeks so I called a few times before finally reaching them. JD said they'd be back to do the work the next day. They showed up a few days later unannounced when I wasn't home and dug up 2 sections of the driveway - one section near my garage about 4 feet by 15 feet, and another section near the sidewalk about 3 feet by 6 feet. They scratched and chipped paint off the bottom of my garage door when they dug up near the garage. THEY NEVER LEFT ME A WRITTEN ESTIMATE AND THEY NEVER RETURNED TO FINISH THE JOB!! I called them several times and finally got through. I was told they'd come back the next day. THEY NEVER RETURNED!! Weeks later I was able to contact a different paving company, RENEW, who promptly came and cleaned up the mess left behind by JD Construction, patched/repaved the driveway, and then came back in the 2014 to seal the driveway. They had to wait till 2014 because it was too cold to seal in November, 2013. I don't know anyone I dislike enough to recommend JD to. If one does decide to roll the dice and hire JD, I recommend making them give you a written estimate first - with a definite start and end date and a clear description of the work to be done. Don't give them a penny until the work is completed to your satisfaction and be sure they repair any damage they cause! Also, they asked for cash, I would recommend paying them by credit card as an added protection.

JD salesman came door-to-door said they were in the neighborhood and could therefore beat the competition on price. I was skeptical and said how do I know you will provide a good driveway? Very personsable salesman showed me written recommendations and took me to see the driveways they had done in the past couple years in the neighborhood. I signed a contract in June, 2013, and they showed up unannounced in October, 2013 and promptly did the job in two days. I foolishly gave them the total in cash assuming they would soon finish the curb. I also questioned them about whether they had used the amount of material (stones and asphalt) and machinery - they used wheelbarrows and manual rollers. They assured me the driveway would be fine. They did not return to do the curb, nor did they clean up the site as promised. As of I am currently asking them to come back and re-pave the driveway to contracted specifications, or give me a total refund so I can have someone else from Angie's List do the job right. I have not been happy with their response to date and I will pursue satisfaction with the full weight of Angie's, and if that doesn't work, I will pursue throught the Civil Court System on the grounds of breech of contract. I am still hoping that JD will fulfill the contractual agreement. I may be a naïve, trusting and foolish 66 year old senior citizen, but I will not be intimidated nor be taken like this without contesting this injustice.
