The reupholstering was excellent. The couch was done right on time. It took a while to get the material for the chairs and ottoman, but it was not their fault and they kept us in the loop. We were not happy with the window treatments. When Joe delivered the chairs and ottoman, he looked at the window treatments and agreed they were not quite right. So he had them redone at no cost to us! That was an extremely nice thing to do! In fact I do not think anyone else today would have agreed to that. So, excellent workmanship, they stand by their work and they go the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied.

The finished product was beyond our expectations Wonderful with helping us pick the fabric. They stayed on contact with us during the process as we originally did not know the pieces would have to be 'rebuilt'. They were professional, friendly and I would recommend them to anyone who wants quality work.

Excellent! I used partial COF, and Imperial managed to find the balance that I needed for the project (fabric was no longer in production). The work was impeccable and done in time for all of my guests to have a seat at Thanksgiving! The staff is incredibly helpful, and seem to be as pleased to help with a small project as a major one. For the work done, I thought that the price was very reasonable.

They fixed the wood structure of the chair, cleaned up the wood arms and legs that showed, and completely redid the entire upholstery, and did a beautiful job. Lots of fabrics to select from at a wide range of price points.

Excellent!!! After having them replaced by Harden Furniture 3Xs in 6 years we decided they to get it done ourselves or buy a new couch and love seat. Imperial explained the differences in foam, did one cushion for us to try, we wanted a slight adjustment. We brought the cushions in mid afternoon and got them back mid morning the following day. The adjustment was perfect and did not impact the price. Great quality, good price, excellent service and very nice people. A very pleasurable experience.

Bob (the owner) was extremely patient - i asked about the price of re-stuffing 5 leather couch cushions in August. Due to a variety of reasons, i was not able to bring them in to be done until early October. Bob ordered the special foam that was needed to complete and when I was able to bring them in, he did them in less than one day. LOVE these cushions!!! I could not be happier with the outcome. They were a little pricey, but very much worth the cost. I had come to Bob because I had the cushions previously done about 2 years ago by a DIFFERENT upholstering company and they were already sagging after about 6 months (a very short period). You truly do get what you pay for - a very high quality item, exceptional service. Great Job Imperial and I would use them to do any upholstering job.

It went fine. They are excellent. I was very satisfied. They had a big selection of fabric and they did an excellent job of working with the materials.

They had the exact piece I needed, sitting in their showroom. The glass top was being sold as a remnanto order t and it was in perfect condition. I was very happy, because I was expecting to have to order a custom-cut piece at twice the price and wait for them to get to it.

I found this place on Angie's list and after reading the rave reviews, decided to contact them for a quote. Joe, the owner, responded via e-mail within 24 hours with an estimate. Although it initially seemed high, I really value high quality, and was willing to pay for it, if a "miracle" could be performed on the pieces that my mom and I wanted to have restored and reupholstered. Let me say that the pieces I was bringing in were completely terrible - stored in a warehouse and cellar for years (and probably pulled off of a curb years before that), springs hanging out, stuffing all out, a small chunk missing from a portion of the chair, wood in terrible condition, filthy, disgusting. I was asking Joe to give them a complete makeover. My husband brought the pieces to his shop in early November, and then my mom and I stopped by about 2 weeks later to select fabric. Joe was there himself with an employee, who was an interior designer. Each of them had a fantastic eye for color, and spent about 2 hours with us, going through fabric samples to find the right material to do these pieces justice. They were so patient and friendly, even though we stayed with the clearance fabrics to keep costs down due to the number of pieces we were having done at one time. Joe had a lot of orders ahead of ours, as the holidays were coming up. We asked him to prioritize my mom's pieces, but said we understood if he couldn't get to them in time for Christmas. I told him to take his time on mine, that I was in no hurry. To my surpries, Joe actually finished my mom's furniture so we could pick it up from him the weekend before Christmas. They came out absolutely beautiful! Each piece was completely PERFECT - the wood was restored, the stuffing was medium firmness like she asked for, and the fabric perfectly placed, matched up, button and diamond tufted, as if it was brand new. I am super-picky, and I could seriously not find a single thing wrong with any piece. He even made my mom 2 custom pillows that were reversible - an excellent suggestion on Joe's part - because she couldn't make up her mind between two accent fabrics. My sofa and chair were completed within a month after Christmas, even though I told Joe it was really no rush. He did an equally perfect job on my medallion backed sofa and lady's chair. I can still hardly believe how perfect they are. After this experience, I would not trust my reupholstering to anyone else. Although the prices were high, the quality of the fabric was very high, and the quality of the craftsmanship FAR EXCEEDED my expectations. The price was totally worth it. Joe was polite and professional, and I'm completely appreciative that he and his business exist in the Hartford area. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND his work to anybody.

I had two chairs that I wanted reupholstered in ultrasuede for a custom look. I couldn't be more pleased. They accommodated me by getting them delivered by Christmas. The did a wonderful job and the chairs look like they cost twice that.

It went very well. The results are excellent and beautiful - better than I could have ever hoped. It was delivered early and I now have a beautiful and comfortable antique settee for my home.

Imperial does excellent work. They will take the time to do the job right. They have great reviews because they deserve them, though this means that they are very busy. Do not expect overnight miracles. Give them the time to do the job the way it needs to be done, and you will definitely not be disappointed. They went above and beyond on our project, and it shows.

They did a fantastic job with the re-upholstering work. I had significant cat damage on all of the chairs. I thought for sure that I would not be able to salvage the recliners which I had really enjoyed. The chairs and recliners came out better than expected. Joe was always repsonsive to emails. It took a while to get the work done but was completely worth it. I would highly recommend him.

Every step of the way I felt that my satisfaction was of utmost importance to Joe Gallinoto. This family business is very well run with the customer's satisfaction top of mind for them. I was able to purchase the fabric from a host of different options that are provided by Imperial. They came to the house to take measurements to be sure that a sufficient amount of fabric was ordered. The chairs were picked up in May and within four weeks we had two beautiful, better than new chairs! These chairs had been reupholstered fourteen years ago, they were good quality chairs and that's why I decided to have them reupholstered. One of the chairs was my husband's favorite chair and Joe and I joked that he was the one who had to be satisfied with how the 'new' chair felt when he sat in it and as it had conformed to his body. I was extremely satisfied with the quality of workmanship, and he is happy with the look and feel of his new chair. A win-win all around! This is the second time we have used Imperial and highly recommend them!

This is what I came to Angie's list to find, an upholsterer that I could trust. The previous reviews whetted my appetite, so I went to the showroom because I needed to have two chairs upholstered and brought along my ladder back chair. Joe is very accommodating and his workmanship, as he does all the rush work, is remarkable -- truly an art. The estimate he gave me came in at the low point and I have contracted to have my two wing back chairs upholstered too! This is a well-run family business with customer service being of the utmost importance.

They were excellent. I loved how forthcoming they were. They showed me their shop. They took as much time as we needed to pick out fabric. Their knowledge was beyond belief. They completely took my chair apart and fixed everything. They answered our calls immediately. They responded back to us via email within less than hour's time. They are always prompt and very professional. Their prices are fine. It's expensive but upholstery is expensive and well worth it.

From the initial contact for an estimate for the cane repair everything went very well. We first took the chairs in just for the cane, but decided after seeing how well that was done (and the contrast with tired upholstery and some 'wiggly' chairs) to leave the chairs for the additional work. Everything was completed well within the time quoted, especially appreciated because Easter was nearing. This is a family business in which the family clearly takes pride, as well they should. They were a genuine pleasure to deal with.
