 + -1 more2 men came and got right to the work. They did everything we asked of them, were professional and cleaned up afterward. Only one thing: they painted over everything inluding light sockets but left doors in rooms with the old color, which looks a bit funny.

 + -1 moreWe first spoke with Sean about mid-August to get an estimate for the job. He was on time for our meeting. After getting other quotes which were considerably more expensive, we decided to hire Pro Painters for the job. Sean and his assistants arrived on time at 9 am, as scheduled; they did an excellent job and were finished by approximately 5 pm the same day. We are very satisfied with their work and would recommend them to anyone. (Sean - thanks to whoever fixed the loose stairwell railing - we know that was not included in the job!!)
Description of Work: Painting of living room (including a vaulted type ceiling), dining room and kitchen (not much wall area, no ceilings involved), small bathroom (including removal of small area of wallpaper), small hallway (no ceiling involved), basement stairwell and trim and doors. We supplied paint for living room, hallway and basement stairwell. Pro Painters supplied the paint for the other areas. Two coats of paint were applied throughout.

I felt sorry for them as they obviously wanted to acquire more money for the job but this could have been avoided with more detailed information given in what the special deal "did and did not" include. They also informed me that your service charged them 35% of the job's cost which I was later informed by one of your reps that you only take 10% of the job to cover the administrative portion of setting up the special deal to your subscribers. I will be completing the work - painting the cellar door - and "staining" my 2 small stairways/deck portions on my own. It was still a good price -but I would have liked been more informed as to what the special deal "included" or "excluded This would have avoided any discord totally. Description of Work: When I purchased the "special deal" for $1249 thought it was exceptionally good since this same outfit had painted my 3 bedrooms previously for a very fair price and had done a very good job. Clean and efficient. After several follow-ups, months-almost 4 months - when painters showed up (manl guy was incapacitated due to a recent accident-=broke foot) finally sent his partner to do the job in August. When they arrived, they did not want to do a part of the house's below the surface lattice work, but then did so. Original person wanted additional $300 to "scrape" house - said it was unusually difficult- which I agreed to - but when they arrived, they did not want to include painting the 2 small attacked stairways/deck areas nor the Cellar door. Wanted an additional $400 for same. Also did not want to paint the overhang on the porch/deck areas. Note that my house has a brick front, so only 3 sides to the house - so this should have made up easily for doing these 2 areas. Since I purchased the paint which was $280+, the above amount is what it actually cost me because I refused to pay them additional for painting 2 small stairways from porch and the cellar door. Lastly, before I could catch them, they spilled their leftover paint & brush clean-ups onto my lawn leaving a totally dead area. When I told them that was not acceptable, they simply ignored me and continued to do this act to my lawn. The partner came with 3 additional people - they used spray-guns to do the paint job which of course was why I had to purchase so much paint - it was easier for them but more expensive for me. The paint job was okay but would suggest in the future, more details of what exactly the deal included or excluded.

 + 0 moreJacob responded promptly to our request for a bid, arrived on time, and was courteous and professional. His bid was in line with others we had received. Once we hired his company, he even brought an interior designer to our home as color consultant at no extra charge. His crew began by power washing the entire house. They worked hard during a stretch of hot, humid days and were always courteous. If I had any questions or concerns during the job, Jacob and/or his crew responded immediately until I was satisfied. One man on his crew was also a professional mason who did a great job repairing a few areas off of the deck that needed stucco resurfacing, and he went above and beyond the scope of the job by also repairing part of our front walkway, which was a great surprise. After completion of the work, we noticed a few relatively minor areas that had not received a second coat of paint, as well as some excess paint splatters here and there, so I called Jacob and he came out immediately to review the areas in question. He sent a crew out to take care of it within a week and they did a great job. I would hire them again.
Description of Work: Paint the exterior siding and trim of a 4,600 SF house including the resurfacing of some areas of cracked stucco.

 + -1 moreOver the winter I had purchased the painting services from Angie's List Big Deal - 3 rooms painted for $399. Jacob contacted me right away and although I didn't plan on having the work done until Spring, hew was very agreeable and we set a call back time for March. The final scheduling hit a few snags due to a health emergency on the part of the contractor, but Jacob kept in constant contact. He always answered any questions rearding the work to be done. I contracted to have our Kitchen, Dining and Living rooms painted. The deal included 2 coats but no trim work and I was to supply the paint. His crew of 2 painters arrived on time 8:30am. They listened to all instructions. I was unable to remove the border in the kitchen and they took care of that for me. They also moved the appliances in the Kitchen. The work was finished by 3:30pm. They waited until I had reviewed the areas to be sure there weren't any spills or additional clean up needed. They did everything in about 7 hours and the walls look great. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again in the future.

 + -1 moreI was never told the exact day they would be here.....just "next week" I thought they should have called ahead of time to let me know the specific date instead of just showing up. They did not have enough drop cloths to protect the area (so we provided some) Area to be primed (oil primer) was not completed as expected (one of the painters told me "no primer just paint") When I questioned the owner .....he said he only primed those "spots" that were down to the bare wood However this is NOT what was represented in his written estimate.....or what we expected....we thought entire trim should have been primed. He tried to tell us that this is what he meant....and it must have been "trouble with communication" (implied that english was not their primary language). Then he told us that he used one coat of latex prime and one coat of paint ( when two were specified) They did work h****** very hot days and completed the job in two days ( originally told me it would take 3-4 days) It rained part of the last day but they continued to paint ( reportedly did not effect the quality of their work) Only time will tell how long it lasts. Though some of the workers were sloppy, the owner did call them back to do a better job cleaning up after themselves at the end of the job. If you hire them....be sure to review the written estimate with them before they begin the work so that there is total understanding of what you expect and what they agreed to do. I also wished I had asked to see the can of oil primer, (reportedly used on the "bare spots") as well as the cans / number of cans of paint used to complete the job.
Description of Work: Exterior painting of trim on perimeter of house including front door and garage door.... Contract specified prime coat and two coats of paint.

 + 0 moreA superb job by Pro Painters, all around. They were responsive, immediately returning my phone call and then coming by the next day. They provided a sufficiently detailed quote. The price could not be beat. They were significantly less expensive than the competitors. Despite this price difference, they performed professional work, using top quality products (Benjamin Moore) and primer and two quotes on all surfaces. They offered to work around my schedule, even waiting until our vacation started to begin their work at our request. Their workers were courteous and an owner was on-site at all times. Their wallpaper removal and dealing with the plaster issues were impressive. They obviously know what they are doing. Their work was very good. They removed wallpaper and painted a 2000+ sq. ft. home. With that, there always come some small issues (could have been a little more neat and a few (2-3) edges are not 100% perfect). However, we could not be happier with the job they completed. They immediately resolved any question we had. In fact, they allowed us to change a significant color in our house in the middle of the job, with only the charge for the materials (paint). We were impressed with their ability to turn our old wallpapered house into "Pottery Barn" perfection. Sean and Jacob are a pleasure to deal with. I verified their license and insurance and do not hesitate in recommending them.

He showed up right on time and after I showed him the areas that needed painting he gave me a price that worked for me and we set up a 2 day schedule. Sean showed up with his partner on time to do the work. They were very professional and polite the entire time. After completing the work on time we walked through the house and they touched up a few areas that we spotted needing touch up. After the paint dried I noticed a few spots that were light and contacted sean who came out the next morning and repainted the aera. I would use them again.

He powerwashed and prepped the house including replacing rotted window sills, and painted the entire house including the windows and doors. The did a professional job over 2 weeks and did a nice job of cleaning up. Good communication. Good quality. Reasonable price. I would recommend them highly.

 + -1 moreAfter my wife & I painted the entire 2nd floor of the home we just moved into, we decided to hire painters to finish the 1st floor of the house. We contacted Jacob of ProPainters on a Tuesday or Wednesday, we scheduled an estimate for that upcoming Friday. Sean & Jacob arrived at the scheduled time, we agreed to a price, and they scheduled the job for the following Friday. Their crew (2-3 guys) arrived promptly Friday morning and finished by Saturday afternoon. We did a thorough walk-thru after the job was complete and pointed out a couple drips and overage onto the trim which they corrected on the spot without hesitation. Throughout the job the painters were cordial and attentive to any possible inconvenience to us (e.g. - unplugging phones/TVs/etc), always making sure it was okay to disconnect items at a time that would not disrupt something we were doing. I'd recommend ProPainters to friends and family, we were very happy with their service.

When the job was completed he came back for another walk thru and we pointed out that there were a few areas that we noticed needed another coat. Jacob remedied the problems by the next day and we were pleased with the job overall. Our one recommendation to Jacob would be to use more drop cloths or floor coverage. We had the floors refinished just before the painting and we noticed several paint marks that we have been unable to get up.

He said he would work on it and get back to me. He called the next day and said he could have a crew out the following day. Sean showed up on time and was very professional and courteous. I had a heavy piece of furniture that needed to be moved away from the wall, and they did this very efficiently. I am very pleased with the overall results. Sean was trained in Germany as a painter/decorator through the professional 3-year-apprenticeship scheme and it shows. I would buy Pro Painters' services in the future.

 + -1 moreSean & Martin arrived promptly at 8:30 and got ready to work. Sean assessed the job, which was painting the walls and after discussion we decided to have the ceiling done as well. We have popcorn ceilings which that were scraped flat in spots from previous reconstruction. Sean ran to the store to get popcorn additive and did his best to blend the spots. Although not perfect, it is a huge improvement. They worked diligently throughout the day stopping briefly for lunch finishing at ~4:00. The walls had scratches and dings that were patched / filled expertly. The two guys worked very efficiently together. The rooms look better than expected. Overall we were very impressed with the job and would not hesitate to recommend them. As it stands, we plan to employ them for a wallpaper job in the near future.
