Description of Work: I contacted them and they immediately met me for an estimate. They actually got on the roof to walk around for the quote. The quote might have been more than I wanted to pay, but I've gotten estimates before, and it was reasonable for new roof and gutters. They said they would do work on Saturday/Sunday for the roof and Wednesday for the gutters. I was worried that they didn't show up the morning they said (it was a saturday after a very rainy week), but they did everything on Sunday. They finished the gutters earlier--either Monday or Tuesday. I didn't have to pay until it was all done. This was a rental property, and the guys who rent the house said they were very professional and knew what they were doing. No complaints.

Description of Work: Tore the roof down to wood (and replaced three plywood panels that had rotted), installed vapor barrier, and re-shingled the roof with architectural shingles. | |The principals at M and J Roofing provided a good -- and no-pressure -- education about roofing practices and materials, provided me with copies of licenses and insurance coverage without being asked, and offered references (which I did not take, since I'd already read many testimonials on Angie's List). Once contracted, they arrived as scheduled, performed the work in a single day, and cleaned up impeccably. My roof looks lovely, and I would recommend them without reservation.

Description of Work: Professional, good price, fair, honest, clean, and did a few extras which we were so grateful for. These guys took the time to do it right and a little extra for no charge. They were kind to my 5 year old son who was worshipping the the workmen, and did a great job. Another company told us the work couldn't be done and that the whole chimney would need to be torn down and rebuilt for $8000. MJ said that was ridiculous and did a beautiful job flashing our 200 plus year old chimney in copper. It looks amazing! I'm so thankful that were honest and fixed this for us before the winter.

Description of Work: They rebuilt part of chimney, added waterproofing and a cap. I appreciate the owner's straight forward manner and professional follow through. The men who came to do the work were good and did a nice job. I'd recommend them and the pricing was good too

Description of Work: I had my entire roof replaced my M&J and I was extremely impressed with their professionalism and reliability. Of the three estimates we got, M&.J's was the lowest by a considerable margin and they adhered to the quoted price despite the fact that the job turned out to be more involved than originally anticipated. At least one of the two brothers who own the company (Louie and Jason) were on site every day. They were friendly, responsive and attentive. The entire job took only 3 days which was remarkable in view of its scope. The crew was here on time every day and stayed late on the 3rd day to make sure the work was complete which I appreciated since I was having company the following day. They clearly respected our property and were very careful not to damage plants, pool, walkways, etc. The roof looks great and I am so pleased that we hired M&J. I highly recommend them without any reservation.

Description of Work: I asked about a job and they recommended me to someone else who specialized in what I needed. I applaud them on their honesty.

Description of Work: I have used M and J Roofing twice now. The work they do is outstanding. I have a section of flat roof on my home that had a leak and only M and J Roofing fixed the problem.( had two contractors before M and J that still left me with a leaking roof.) The second was a gutter/ rain pipe problem and I knew that the work would be to excellent. If you want a professional job done at a reasonable price look no further than M and J Roofing.

Description of Work: While I haven't had the chance to use them yet. i fully intend to use them. of all the Roofing companies that I interviewed and met with, they were far and away the most straightforward, honest, informative, down to earth and on time with their appointment and following up to confirm. These are the type of people I want to do business with, real people and old school values. They treat you respectfully

Description of Work: We were extremely pleased w/ our experience w/ M & J Roofing. Louie came to give us an estimate one evening right after we called. He was very polite and professional. He took pictures to show us any part of the roof that was a concern. He gave a complete explanation of what he would do, answered our questions thoroughly, and recommended that we not sign a contract until we had had enough time to consider all aspects. When we did sign, he did not want a down payment, saying that it was his responsibility to buy the materials. He gave us a start date of 3 1/2 weeks but he was able to do the job a week sooner than that. He and his crew started at 8 am on a Saturday, and except for a brief lunch break, they worked steadily until they finished cleaning up around 8:45 that night. Periodically Louie would ring the bell to give us an update, sometimes with pictures, on their progress. A couple of times he asked us to come out to the yard so he could explain what was going on. While it wasn't enjoyable being in the house with the constant sounds of manual and power equipment and 5 men clomping around above our heads, all of the noise was associated with actual work. There were no loud radios blasting, or people having casual conversations that we'd prefer not to overhear, or foul language of any sort. While we wouldn't have been terribly upset by a little of any of these things, we were very appreciative of their absence. Before they left that night, the crew did an excellent job of cleaning up the site. And before Louie left, he said to be sure to call him if we ever had any questions or concerns about the roof, and he would respond right away. Based on the work ethic displayed, we believe that Louie would respond quickly and would make every effort to ensure that we were happy with the job done.

Description of Work: If it is possible to have a perfect experiance with a contractor this was it. I could not have requested for a more intelligent professional than Louie to deal with. |My roof was a complex job which required an experinced contractor...two of my neighnors (contractors themselves) commented on the quality and the neatness of the job. M&J Roofing arrived on time and demonstrated a professional team work quality that was commented by all who witnessed the job being performed.
