M & J Roofing LLC

We hired M&J to install our new roof. We had plenty of companies come out and give us quotes but not as detailed as the M&J quote. The owner came out himself and explained to us in detail what our roof needed. The workers were professional when they were working. In two days we had a new roof. They removed our old one in a day and installed the new one the next day. The workers were all in uniform the whole time they were here. The owner was hands on with the project. We are very happy to have done business with M&J and to have an M&J roof!

I needed my roof which had two layers of asphalt shingles replaced. I received several estimates on the job and decided to go with M&J. They were not the cheapest bidder but they had so many good reviews on Angies List I decided to go with them. After they started tearing off the roof, they told me they needed to rip off all the plywood and re sheet the roof. I thought that was probably over kill since I had been on the roof many times, and I was raised by a man that had worked as a roofer. I knew some of the wood needed to be replaced, but not all of it. Since I did want a good job and the house is a small ranch I agreed to the added cost. Big mistake! Not only did they crack the drywall on two of my ceilings in the house, but they also broke 2 x 8’s! If you are not familiar with roofing, this is a big deal! While they had all the plywood off the house it would have been easy to fix the 2x8s. Instead they tow nailed some plywood to the side of the 2x8 and continued working. By doing this they were able to cheat and attach the new plywood, but they have left the roof structurally unsound! They KNOW they cracked the 2x8 since they did the quick cheat, but they did not tell me they cracked it! This job was on a small ranch, any roofer will tell you its an easy roof to work on, but they made a mess of everything! I’m now left with an unfinished job that will need to be fixed! As a Christian I know not to get angry, I’ll leave it on God’s hands. I just pray God deals with them the way they dealt with me! So much for Angies List! Do not hire M&J!

I had quotes from 3 other roofers and all I can say is....YIKES!!!! One wanted to go over top of the 2 other roofs on the house, one gave me all of the estimates and I never heard from them again despite like 20 phone calls, and one was 30 grand for 2600 squares soooooo, yeah....he wasn't getting the job. M&J came recommended by a friend and that's where everything started to go well. Louie came out as promised for the quote, made a recommendation to replace the gutters so he could do a better job of protecting from ice dams and was super reasonable. Over the past few years we have had a few things for Louie to do and he ALWAYS makes time for us. He is kind, punctual, thorough and absolutely the most competitively priced roofer in the area. As far as the work goes, the are efficient and NEAT, NEAT, NEAT. There was not so much as a single nail or scrap of material to be found anywhere on my property after a full tear-off and gutter replacement. I would recommend these guys to anyone if you want the best warranty, price and overall experience. I threw some photos in of the job with before and after to give an idea of how they work. I will add that the tear-off on my house was a nightmare. :)

Outstanding price and service. Louie takes personally care of discussion and suggestions of the project, quotation, permit and overseeing the job. Team came and did the roof in one day, finishing the gutters and screens the next. The gutter design was much nicer and more thoughtful than what our house and most house use. It appears to be very solid work, a few plywoods needed changing and Louie took care that the uneven roof section where an addition was added to the main building was evened out by intersecting the plywood so that the roof now looks even. Everything was documented by pictures, especially the taping of plywood according to local code. Needless to say they stayed on budget and cleaned everything very well. Payment is only after the work was done and after I was entirely satisfied - so no prepayment of 50% when the contract was signed. Overall the quote was one of the most competitive and I am very satisfied with the apparent quality of the work and the use of highly rated GAF shingles. Total price including roofing, gutters and screens was $14,060 for a larger colonial house.

new roof and chimney came out amazing, Louie was very helpful in accomplishing this project, his crew were very professional and helpful with any questions, they cleaned up everything like they were never here. the price was lower than three other quotes didn't try to get me for more $ during the job. found them to be honest company to work with. First, I had received four different roof estimates (two general contractors the previous year and two GAF master certified roofers the year I actually had the work done). Louie was prompt, courteous, and he listened. I had a serious ventilation problem in my attic. My roof was about 24 years old, but because of the ventilation problem, I started to grow mold that was affecting my health. I had estimates that were on the low end $7500 all the way up to $15,000. Although Louie wasn't the cheapest, Louie was the one who listened to even the tiniest details and included them in his quote. I knew that of the four estimates, I wasn't going to have a problem with him. I watched them rip off the plywood, install new plywood, diligently cut soffit vents and appropriately spaced them, he added a ridge vent and covered up the louvers on each end of the house with the required materials and then matched the siding. They were done in 2 days and they cleaned up nicely. He also installed new gutters that look great. I had a couple of questions/concerns throughout the process and he addressed them promptly, and even came back to fix the roofing that was installed over a bay window. I've dealt with many contractors over the years and I have to say that Louie is authentic in his attitude and the way he runs his business. He returns calls and is fair with his estimates in comparison to the work and attention that he gives.

We hired Louie and his team to replace our roof after it was damaged by wind. We called him up and he stopped by our house that day while we were both at work. He gave us a quote the next day. He had to reschedule the actual work on us a couple of times due to weather, but we were informed every step of the way... and at the end of the day he and his crew were getting our roof done in the middle of December, so no complaints here! The quality of the work is outstanding, and we are very happy with our new roof!
