I called M&J for an estimate and they responded quickly. The person that showed up to do the estimate was one of the owners and he was very knowledgable and professional. All work was completed in one day. The company and work team is incredibly professional and everyone knew there job. Best contracter experience ever. I had no problem contacting the company and they kept me appraised of the scheduling, with plenty of notice. I wondered why this company had so many good reviews already and now I know they earned them. Everything was cleaned up nothing left behind. The final price was the estimated price. This does not gaurantee a similar experience for others because every job is different as are the customers. I received two other quotes, one was several thousand dollars higher and the concractor crushed my porch gutter doing the estimate so they were out. The other quote included other services and it would not be apples to apples, but it was quite pricey also.

As described above, they failed to even complete an inspection and quote, so no work was ever completed.

I did exstensive research before selecting a company to replace my roof. I got various estimates and delt with several contractors. When I went on Angies List, I was so impressed with what I read about M&J Roofing. Jason came to give me an estimate and I liked him immediately. He gave me a very professinal folder containing proof of his Connecticut license, liabilty insurance, etc. I was impressed and could understand all the praise of other Angies List participants. Jason informed me about my chimney, which I obviously couldn't see from the ground. I thought his price was fair for the work on the chimney and the roof. The work was done very efficiently, on time and with the minimum disruption to the family. I am so pleased and have only the best things to say about the company and it's owners and staff.

The job was done quickly (one day) and expertly. After the work was done there was no evidence that he had been there except for the new roof. The yard was immaculate, not a single roofing nail or or old tile could be found. Very happy with this company.

Jason quoted the job. I had one other roofer quote the job. The two prices were within 70.00 of each other so I decided to go with M and J due to the full disclosure of insurance, etc at the time of the first visit and the price being very close to the other price quoted. Jason seemed like an honest man and listened when I asked questions and he answered my questions to my satisfaction.What I especially liked was his statement that the phone number on the contract would be answered by himself 24 hours per day.The crew arrived today at 7:15 AM and completed the job by 11:00 AM. The area was left very clean. One could not tell that a relatively messy roofing job had been completed here today.

I had purchased an Angie's Big Deal for $199 last year for a roof maintenance package. The company representative came out promptly at the agreed upon time. I used this service as we had issues with our master bathroom ceiling. There was a small leak that stained the ceiling for a 1 foot section in the corner. The appeared to originate from an issue with a certain section of the roof . The water mark appeared every time it rained very hard. The representative was very courteous and professional. He got up on the roof and did a thorough inspection. He deduced that the issue was a crack on a ventilation pipe. He caulked the crack and guaranteed the work. He also inspected my roof and told me it had another 10 -12 years left. I was impressed that when he first arrived, he provided literature on his company. He also showed me certificates of insurance showing evidence of coverage commercial general liability insurance and workers compensation insurance. He also advised that he had many positive recommendations on Angie's list ( which is why I used his service). He was at my house no more than 45 minutes. In retrospect , the price was a little high for the time he spent working. However, it was well worth it if you consider the peace of knowing that the job was done correctly. The leak stopped and we have not had any further issues.

We have a challenging roof. The roofer we originally lined up backed out the week before they were to start the job because their work crew number dropped. He said the steep pitch and changing angles of our roof required a team of at least four roofers who knew how to work together. After all the time we had spent getting quotes and lining up someone to do the job, we were back at square one... except now we knew we had to ensure that the roofing company we hired had the manpower and backup crew to handle our roof. I searched Angie's List and found M-J Roofing. Jason answered the phone on my first call. He came out to our house the NEXT DAY to give a free estimate. Prompt. Very professional. This company does roofs for a living - they know their stuff. Price was higher than the quote from the first roofer, but M-J uses higher-end materials and was doing work the original roofer had not included: replacing skylights (necessary because of water damage), applying edging, counterflashing both chimneys (one was clearly identified as a source of an occasional water leak, which only happened when the wind and rain blew from a certain direction) and applying a water barrier material before installing the new roofing shingles. Day 1 and every day after they were on time (sometimes a little early). They always had a minimum of 4 people on the job - and on a day when rain was predicted in the evening, they put 6 men on the job to make sure the section they were working on was finished before the storm came. I was impressed with how fast and efficiently they worked. Their clean-up was excellent. They were always polite and friendly. The job took slightly longer to finish than originally quoted because a heat wave made work conditions too dangerous and they cancelled on those 2 days - a decision we completely supported. Neighbors have admired our new roof... and we agree that the new look of the architectural shingles is striking. So we have a beautiful roof that will last 40 years, our new skylights are better than we imagined - and nothing leaks.

We have a 100 year old home and the chimney was not in great shape from the roof-line up. The chimney is used for both boilers and fireplace. It was beyond re-pointing. We spent about 1-1/2 months interviewing different chimney companies and masons and found this company via Angie's list. Jason showed up for the estimate exactly when he said he would, even calling to say he'd be 5 minutes late.Unfortunately, given the location of the house and the chimney and our extensive gardens, all the other companies were adding thousands to the quote for the added labor to cart the demolition debris to the street and then cart the bricks from the street to the chimney without harming the garden. Jason proposed using the neighbors property and assured me that they wouldn't harm a thing. My neighbors agreed. The end result is that we got a new chimney from the roof up done quickly, professionally, with total respect for our house and our neighbors house. The father/son team that did the rebuild work on a Thursday, Friday, Sat and Sunday through sweltering 90+ degree heat, always showing up on time. I would definitely recommend this company and if we ever need other masonry or roofing will be sure to call them without hesitation. Rarely do I go with the lowest quote but in this case it seems to have paid off. (I forgot to mention we drove to multiple job sites to see their work, even speaking with one family, and all were beautiful work.)

Jason from M&J was awesome!!!!! i had a leaky chimney. I originally thought that i had a problem with the roof and hence i called m&J. Jason came the next day after i called. He was professional and very knowledgeable and HONEST!!!!! when i explained the chimney leak, he immediately knew that it was the chimney and not the roo flashingf. Based on the fact that the chimney was an issue, he recommended that i call the chimney man that does his work on roofing jobs. He could have made a quick buck and repaired the flashing, but he didn't. There also wasn't a charge . The chimney man was AWESOME!!! He double checked the flashing with a water test and as Jason had surmised, the flashing was good. We then determined that the flues were quite large and was the issue with the water. He put on slate covers fir each flue and did additional waterproofing. Knock on wood, but we haven't had a leak since!!! And he was very professional and explained everything.

Went very smoothly - no major problems (clean-up could have been a little more thorough, but not a big deal).

This is an honest businessman - he could have easily come over and charged me a fortune for this repair and I wouldn't have known the difference but he didn't, instead he did the right thing. I would recommend this company to anyone, enthusiastically.

I was very happy with M & J and I give them an A rating. He was just perfect, he answered all my questions and calls. He was there on time, their guys did an excellent job and he had like eight guys working on my roof at one time. It was just a very good experience.

I called this company to provide me with an analysis of my home roof condition. He arrived on time and fully explained the situation of my roof. He was very knowledgeable and professional about roofing and answered all my concerns and questions while here. He also provided me with his company folder which included a copy of his state department of consumer protection registration along with a copy of his certification of insurance. Very professional!

I called Jason and he made an appointment as soon as he could. He had to cancel the first meeting but came promptly the day after. He inspected the roof and confirm it needed to be replaced. He gave me a quote that was significantly better than the three other quotes I received. He explained what would be done and why he was doing it. He listened to my questions and agreed to complete what I asked for. He was friendly when I told him I was going to get one more estimate. I called him back the next day when he was still the best price. He came over to sign the contract and said I would pay him when the job was complete. He said it would take about 2 weeks to start job and it would take one day. He asked us if he could do it on weekend and we said sure. He called 2 days later and said he could do it the upcoming Saturday. A truck dropped off supplies on Friday. He arrived at 7:30 AM with his crew. They began immediately. He showed us how bad the wood was and suggested new plywood. It was an unexpected expense but it was necessary. There were 5-6 guys working on the job. They were friendly when we came outside and gave us an update. They covered the front and back with a tarp. I left before they finished but Jason called me and said they were done. When I returned the yard was completely clean and the roof completed. Jason came over two days later and inspected the roof. He answered our questions and looked at one spot that from the ground looked different. He confirmed it was good. He reviewed the work done and thanked us. He was friendly to my entire family.

I Signed a contract with Jason in October to perform the worked cited above, and explained to him that I would be leaving town for the winter and needed to work performed prior to my departure (my roof was in very poor condition and has leaked the last few winters). I was VERY disappointed when my project was continually pushed back, until I was contacted by Jason in December explaining to me that the weather was too cold to replace the roof and that my project would need to be completed in the Spring. With that being said. Jason and his crew came in April of 2012, while I was away on business, and completed all the contracted work. While I was not present to observe the work being completed, I was informed by my next-door neighbor and roommates that Jason and his team were very efficient, clean, fast, and left the property looking spotless when they were finished. The work looks good, and seems to be of very high quality. When I left for the winter I was VERY disappointed with Jason and that he was unable to find time to fit in my 1-day project in 3 months. I am happy that he completed the work as soon as the weather warmed, and that the work is of high quality.

The service was excellent. The price was good compared to other companies. They were very professional. I would use them again.

The team at M&J is courteous and professional. They were always on time and returned calls promptly. Communication was great and they were patient and generous with their time in order to answer any questions and concerns regarding the project.

I called M&J Roofing for possible roof leak. James came the following day as promised. A quick inspection found that there was no leak on the roof. He found that the rain sipped in through 2nd level window due to lack of aluminum wrap. James recommended another vendor for the job because window repairs and installs are not their specialties. Also because they did not perform an actual repair James firmly refused to be paid. They certainly won my confidence and I will use them for any roof repair in the future.

I was very satisfied with their service. They were very good. They were a little pricey, but they did a great job. They did when they said they would; they did it in half a day. My husband was very pleased with the work. They left everything clean. I would most definitely use them again in the future.

The house is a coloinial. The workers arrived about 8AM and the main house was done by around 4PM. The garage portion was completed the next day by lunchtime. There was a crew of 4 or 5, never really counted; there was so much contiuous activity. Moreover, it was unnecessary for anyone to be present other than observation if desired. The shingles were delivered on a huge truck with a crane to lift the packages of shingles to the roof. It was here for only about 20 minutes. The old shingles were cleared immediately as they came off the roof. They had a mobile dumpster attached to a truck which they backed to near the house. So there was no stationary dumpster on the driveway. Tarp was used to cover plants and outside units. A mesh cover was suggested and accepted for the rain gutters instead of re-installing the Gutter Helmet covers. Good move by the way. The Gutter Helemt units were never really satisfactory, had to call every couple of years or so for cleaning. Also had some adapters installed for eventual connection to bathroom fans. Paymnet was made upon completion of the job. Personable guys, worked efficiently. highly recommend them.
