It went beautifully. Let me start with the fact that M&J Roofing was incredibly responsive. When I first called, I left a voice mail and they responded in less than 10 minutes. They set up an appointment to give an estimate. They were on time to the minute! I had sought out other estimates from other Angie's List providers, but M&J had such rave reviews and their estimate was the best we decided to go with them. I also appreciated how kind and thorough they were in looking at the job to give an appropriate estimate. Other estimate providers only looked at a distance and complained about the workmanship from the previous roofers and saying it was going to be expensive to replace and did I really want to go through that effort (please note - we bought the home and the previous roofers were contracted by the previous owners, the house came "as is"). M&J got up on the roof and talked to me through the open window. They said the previous roofers were not up to par, found the issue and asked if I was looking for temporary or permanent fix. We wanted permanent. Our schedules were both packed in the upcoming weeks so he did a quick fix and we set up a date in the future for the repair work. The day of the project the M&J crew were again right on time to the minute. They started at 8am and were dine by 11:45am. It was a side overhang flat roof. They were courteous, quick and thorough, and clean. All the debris was gone. Not a single nail or residual piece of roofing was left behind. I am planning on using them in the future for my chimney and gutter work. Call them today! They are fantastic.

Having had roofing experience I can say they simply did a great job.

I actually just needed an estimate of the age of the roof for my insurance company. Louie came out and, luckily, pointed out how the flashing was coming off the chimney. The price was reasonable, and he waived the inspection fee and even fixed a hole in the roof for free.

We were very pleased by the work we recently had done by M & J Roofing. They put a new roof on the house along with new gutters as well as removing the old roof and gutters. Also, they did the same work on our two stall barn. We got numerous estimates for the work and M & J was reasonable and closest to what we were expecting and hoping to pay for the work. When we signed the contract, Louie went over everything that would be done with us as well as how they would handle some of the things we wanted fixed (especially some valleys in the roof that we were having water issues with). When the start date was set Louie told me they would be here at 8 am and they were right on time, the old roof was being removed by 8:15. As I was expecting they did find some issues while removing the old roof. Every time they did Louie would come and get me than he would show me the issue and go over how they would fix it. I really appreciated that and he was very thorough and went over everything about why it should be corrected now. Also, if Louie had to leave the site for any reason he would let me know and who on the site would be able to get in touch with him if that was needed. They also told me everything would be done by the end of the second day which I didn?t think would be possible because of the size of the job but they did. Everything was completed including the cleanup around the house. Also, when done, Louie walked around with me to make sure everything was done to my expectations. It was and we are very happy with the way the new roof and gutters look.

Jason came to give estimate and was very helpful in defining and explaining what needed to be done. Recommended roof fan to help cool the house which we were glad we did - it has made a difference. Also listened to our other items that were needed and included in the total estimate so there were no surprises - added bathroom vent, removed obsolete stove pipe, and re-built chimney from roof up. Due to the rain and our schedules, Jason and crew came on 2 separate days, each on time and worked diligently. The first day they removed and replaced the garage roof before the afternoon rain. Several days later they came back to remove and replace the house roof, rebuild chimney and add fan. They worked all day, finishing around 8 pm and did a beautiful job and clean-up. They were careful in laying tarps so as not to damage our new deck. It has been several weeks since the roof was completed and everything is fine - no leaks, no problems, just satisfied customers! We called and scheduled a time for an estimate. Jason arrived on time and had an estimate for us a few days later as promised. Jason is smart, courteous, and has a vast knowledge about roofing and he is a true professional. Once scheduled, the crew arrived on time daily and wasted no time getting to work diligently. He and his brother Louie, along with the crew, were skilled, hardworking, and respectful of our property. They replaced, improved, and corrected the roof on our midcentury modern home which had a long history of problems. They are hard working, honest and dependable good people. We highly recommend this company and are so happy we contracted them. Peace of mind is a good thing.

I highly recommend M&J Roofing. Louie is exceptional, honest, and unlike anyone else we obtained a roofing quote from. After being so turned off by the sales people sent to us by other roofing companies, it was refreshing to have an expert in roofing, a partner in the company, and a good & honest person such as Louie take the time to help us make the best choice for us. A roof is a huge investment, so the people who build it have to care about that investment as much as you do. We truly felt that way about M&J while working with them. We love our new roof and we very much appreciate M&J, Louie, and their whole staff.

I can only say that I truly believed until doing business with M&J Roofing that the days of companies caring and being very professional were long gone. Not so. Doing business with Lou and his crew was a great experience. They did everything as promised, on time and very meticulously. The roof looks great and we couldn't be more pleased. Excellent. Found and fixed significant issues other contractors did not notice. Went the extra mile and fixed missing vent shingle, improperly installed bathroom vents, and cleaned out the gutters! Work was done faster than originally estimated and was on budget. Would definitely recommend.

Lou, Jason and their crew are professionals. I was very pleased with their work, commitment to the project and commitment to making me happy. The crew is very hard working, courteous and efficient. Lou and Jason are excellent at project management and customer relations and they are very nice guys. They have all the latest tools and equipment and this includes their trucks. The project was completed in a day and a half which is a testament to how hard these folks work. Some extra work beyond the contract was required and it was completed at a very low cost. Lou also completed some siding work to improve the flashing on my back porch and did not charge for the effort. It was a pleasure to do business with M&J. I have already recommended them to a friend.

They were very thorough when they came out for the estimate. They did the roof quickly, on time and for the price they quoted. All seems good with the roof. They cleaned up and left everything as it was before they started. They have been very good with support after completion of the job. We noticed a leak that had nothing to do with the roof in one of our windows. Even though it had nothing to do with their work (the leak was in a window, not the roof), they came over and fixed it anyway. That's great service !

Jason and the guys were prompt and very professional. The job was done start to finish in 2 days.

We explained to Jason that we plan to tear down the carport in a few years and build a garage onto the house, but we need to stop the leaking in the meantime so the carport roof holds out until then. He said that it wouldn't be worth redoing the roof if we only plan to take it down in a few years and to take that money and put it towards the garage. He then showed us exactly how we could fix the leaks ourselves with roofing cement. We really appreciated Jason's honesty and willingness to explain how we could DIY fix to have it last a few more years. He easily could have charged us a few hundred dollars to repair it, but said he wouldn't want to take our money for such a small job that we could do ourselves. An honest contractor is hard to find sometimes, and we will definitely be calling them again in the future for any other roofing needs.

Starting from the time I contacted M & J Roofing till the time they finished the project, everything went great. Louie was very prompt in answering my call and gave me a quote instantly on the same day he came to measure the roof. I received quotes from 3 other providers but I was impressed not only with M & J's quote but also their professionalism. Louie came on Saturday 7th at 8 a.m. with 3 of his staff and stripped the entire roof on one side of the house and worked on it till 6:30 p.m. They finished the project on Monday 9th in the morning. But one of his staff came back on Sunday 8th late afternoon to cover the part of the roof they were working on with tarp as there was forecast of rain for Sunday night. All the people who worked on this project are hardworking, professional and punctual. I did tell Louie that I would hire them again when I need to replace the roof on the other side of the house. I am happy that I hired them. In one word M & J Roofing is awesome.

It went fantastic! It was a pleasure doing business with Louie and his roofing company. Louie and his roofing team were professional, organized, clean, and responsive. They have a systematic approach to replacing roofs. To watch them replace a roof is like watching a symphony at work, only with out the music. Louis gave me peace of mind and that was huge. Louis would say "don't worry about nothing we will take care of it". They have great value pricing. I no longer have to worry about finding a roofer. He will be my roofer moving forward. If you need a Roof, please call them! You are crazy of you don't call M&J Roofing for at least an estimate!

Seriously, this company is amazing, don't even look anywhere else, you will be completely happy with these guys. They came out to do an estimate the day after I called, and gave me a price that I was expecting, and felt was reasonable. They dropped off sample shingles following the estimate so that I was sure of the color choice I was making for the large investment. At the estimate they told me I could be on the schedule in about 2 weeks time, but just over a week later, they called and asked if they could come that weekend - just over a week after my estimate! These guys were so friendly, polite, professional, and did an excellent job cleaning up. The roof looks absolutely amazing, it made such a large difference in the curb appeal of our house! They completed most of the roof in a day, and with a few hours the next day, it was completed. They even hauled away some scrap metal we weren't able to transport ourselves for us. Very friendly people, great quality, and great product. The best part is you don't even need to be home for the replacement, and they just give you a beautiful roof. Would 100% use again or recommend to a friend.

They showed up within the time window given and were in and out quickly and efficiently. The estimate for the work needed after the inspection seemed fair.

I had a small leak in roof just before Christmas and called M&J. Louie came out the next day at 8 AM. WE examined the area of the leak and agreed the old decking was in a deteriorated condition. Sure he could stop the leak but it would be a band aide. I knew the old decking was a 3/8" and on rafters set 24" oc. This is not current code and to do a good job the entire roof would need to be replaced. Louie gave me a price that I knew was very reasonable (I have construction background). M&J would start work as soon as weather mitigated. Surprise we got 3 days in early January when temps reached above 50 degrees. Louie and his crew showed up at my door at 8AM and began work. I was taken back by the coordination of the crew and how they worked together. By noon the rear half had been replaced and work started on front half. I almost forgot to mention that I have solar panels on the roof which they removed and replaced. Short story - by the next day the roof was replaced, chimney rebuilt and all debris removed. Louie is coming back to install gutter guards at no extra cost. I have also recommended M&J to other friends. Thanks to Angie's List for recommending this company.

Provider took order over the phone while I was out of town. He visited the house without requiring access and took pictures of the places that needed work (except for the roof). He also did the work before I was able to return to New Haven and completed the work beautifully, sending pictures (except for the roof, probably for safety reasons). He sent me an invoice by email when the work was finished, but I wanted to come back and look at the work myself, and I arrived in New Haven about a week later. Provider did not mind that I had not paid yet, and he told me it's fine to mail him a check, which is what I did. Because of the situation, I did not drive a hard bargain for the price, but I was very impressed with the work and I personally think it was worth every penny!
