I got three quotes, M&J was right in the middle of the quotes. After talking to Louie there were certain things that he said that made more sense. I hired Louie, he and his crew were right on time. Finished the job sooner then expected. Cleaned up when finished, couldn't tell that they were even there. I would highly recommend M&J Roofing and would hire them again. Louie threw in a few extras which saved me money. Thanks Louie.

M&J was exceptional. The many positive reviews here was one of the reasons they were awarded the job and they lived up to them. The crew arrived on time, were professional, cleaned up the area every day, and did a great job. I'm happy with the appearance of the house and quality of the workmanship Louie was excellent to work with. He's professional, communicated well across all phases of the job, and was always concerned that the job was done right. I would definitely hire M&J again.

Louie was very easy to work with. Provided estimate on initial visit, and honored estimate when work was completed. He and his team arrived on time, and completed the work when he said it would be completed. Louie also reviewed the work with me when everything was completed to ensure we had no questions about the work.

Arrived as scheduled with all needed equipment and necessary workers. Covered and protected house, deck, and all landscaping near the house. Removal of the debris from the old shingles was excellent. Job was completed in one day. Louie also provided excellent advice for our choice of the new shingles.

Louie called back within 4 days and said he would like to start Friday and wanted to know if that was alright. We were perfectly fine with him starting. (within 6 days of the estimate date). Louie was here promptly with his crew on Friday. We went to work and he worked on our roof. Came home in the evening and Louie was finishing up the job. Yard was clean, he even cleaned our gutters out while up there! He showed pictures of the finished job. NICE JOB! Matched perfectly! Ready to pay him but he did not take it. Louie said, "It is going rain real hard Sunday into Monday, call me Tuesday and let me know if you have any leaks." He said this with confidence and a nice smile on his face. He wanted to assure us that we will no longer have an issue. We have not seen this kind of service in a long time! We anxiously waited for the rain. It POURED Monday and the interior of our home was DRY! So happy we choose MJ Roofing! Louie takes pride in his work and loves his trade. When you like what you do, you do it best! Definitely would recommend!

What can one say about a contractor who not only does what he says he is going to do, but does it it in the manner and time period he has promised to do it? More than that, how does one faithfully "rate" one that goes above and beyond the call, whether in terms of patiently answering a customer's many questions, offering invaluable advice as to how best to perform a project or making a point to ensure that the customer is completely satisfied with his work? All I can say that anyone such as Louie who exhibited all these attributes when helping us to solve the many problems extant with our roof is that we we extremely fortunate to have found and then hired him to do the same. Indeed, of all the numerous contractors we have worked for us over the years, I have to say Louie and his company rank among the very best. I am comfortable saying, therefore, that anyone looking to have work performed on their roof ought to seriously consider hiring Louie's firm to do the work. Get a number of quotes for sure, but I doubt you'll find a better contractor to do this type of work at what, in my opinion, was a fair price; a price that, while not the lowest, was nonetheless certainly reasonable, especially considering the expert manner in which our work was performed.

We had our seamless Gutter and Stainless Steel Gutter Guard installed last week. Again, Louie and his team did a nice job. Louie even went up the roof and blowing the leaves off before he left. What a value added service and thank you!

Fantastic. Work was completed on time and on budget (actually slightly ahead of schedule). All our questions were answered promptly. Workers were courteous and neat and the company representative was helpful, accommodating and friendly. We could not have had a better experience.

Louie (the owner) and his crew did a fantastic job from start to finish. Louie's proposal was very fair, and he provided the estimate the same day without needing to go back to the office and calculate. His workers began the following Monday exactly when he said they would. After starting the job, we found out the much of the plywood was rotted underneath the shingles, so Louie took his time and explained all of the options and how he could help with keeping the price reasonable. The roofers stayed late when necessary to finish a portion of the roof that needed to be done before bad weather came in, and they cleaned up everything without leaving a nail on the driveway. Louie even offered to fix a portion of our chimney that wasn't even originally part of the deal. I would absolutely recommend using this company, they are professional, top notch, and the nicest guys. Thanks again!

The work went exceptionally well. The team completed the work in one day, within the written estimate and left my yard cleaner than when they arrived. The roof is beautiful and the repairs have kept the birds and squirrels out if my attic for a while now. I have no complaints and highly recommend this company.

Went great They finished the roof in 3 days and when done they cleaned up everything.!!! My patio was covered in roof dust and thought we would need to power wash it when we got back. When we returned, it was completely washed and the furniture was put back in place. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who needs a new roof!!!!

We hired Louis to replace our roof and chimney, We were pleased with his competitive estimate and explained exactly what work he would be performing. Louis is easy going and courteous and always kept us apprised of his arrival times. His crew were all diligent, hardworking and respectful of us and our property. The entire job was completed in two days and they all worked long hours in the heat to get the job done on time. There is no worry concerning clean-up - both days the property was left immaculate. Louis is knowledgeable of his profession and was helpful in explaining to us exactly what work should be performed. What I appreciated the most was his openness to any questions. He was always available to address any concerns, Our neighbors are already complementing us on his excellent job. We plan to renovate our garage and when we do - Louis will be the one we call for that roof as well.

Exactly two weeks after giving me the estimate, Louie's crew was here and completed the whole job including the chimney. They did have to replace the plywood because of the leaks with the prior roof, but he made sure I saw it and agreed to the extra work and cost before he began replacing it. M & J did a great job in replacing the roof as he had explained. In addition,, they also added extra drip edge to make sure the water does not continue to run down the house. They also added vent caps for free to the two vents on the roof. They were very thorough and had me view the progress they were making as they went along to make sure I was happy with the work. He has assured me verbally and in writing that there is a 10 year no cost warranty on both material and labor. The crew was very diligent in cleaning up before they left and was a pleasure to deal with. I will have M & J do future roofing jobs on my house and would definitely recommend them to others.

They did an outstanding job for an excellent price. The entire job was completed in one day and though it was very hot, they did the work cheerfully and left the site completely cleaned up. I would recommend them to anyone.

Louie and his team are very professional from very beginning to the very end. Quotes were provided on the spot after Louie inspected the Chimney and roof. Very fair price with no hidden fee or surprises. No down payment either. Job was done beautifully to professionalism. They covered the bushes around the house and cleaned all the debris after the projects and left the surroundings cleaner than they were. Once again, very well. M & J installed a roof for me in 2014 on another home which went well, so I did not hesitate to reach out again this year. Working with Louie this time around, I had another good experience from afar (I'm in VA but both roofs were installed in CT). Louie visited the property within a few days of contact, provided a competitive estimate, and completed the job with his crew in a timely manner while keeping in close touch with me throughout, photos included. Louie and his crew are also mindful of satellites, removing and reinstalling them, and also clean up all debris very well. In addition to the roof, which did not need any replacement plywood (Louie had mentioned it may once they get up there and see what's underneath), we also had the gutters replaced, which Louie was also in constant touch about, providing downspout ideas, etc.

The job went very well from estimate to completion. The owner was periodically on the job sight. His employees were hard working and clean. They stayed within their estimate, started and finished when they said they would and did a great job at a reasonable price. The owner is a fine young business man who runs his business with integrity. I would recommend this company to my brother.

Wind storm peeled back the roof on a weekend the day before an expected snow storm. After calling several roofing companies Louie was the only person to call back and sent someone to tarp the roof. They arrive just before the snow storm hit and work though the storm to get the roof covered and protected. This quick action saved my house from further damage. After the insurance company agreed to cover the replacement of the roof, Louie created a very detailed estimate of the work which was more than the insurance company originally estimated. Because of the detailed estimate the insurance company agreed to accept the additional cost of the work. Once M & J got a good few days of weather, they did the work quickly and fully documented everything they did with pictures. This helped when we again had to go back to the insurance company with additional hidden costs. Louie did such a great job documenting everything they did and all the additional hidden damage the insurace accepted the additional costs with no argument. We paid M & J the insurance money but then had to wait for the Bank to get its act together and then we again had to wait on the insurance company to get the final balance due. Louie was very understanding and assured me there was no problem. Overall I have the following points: 1. Louie was great, professional and very concerned with doing an excellent job, answered all of our questions and made this whole process pleasant 2. M & J's crew did a very professional job, the work looks great, the inspector the Bank sent to confirm the work commented that it was the best work she had seen in a while. 3. The crew cleaned up after the work. I have not found anything from them being here, it was strange not having to clean up after a contractor. 4. We asked Louie to replace the gutters and fascia at our cost, they used high quality materials, and did an excellent job. 5. Every job has its issues and we did find a few items that we brought to Louie's attention, The list was short, owing to their initial high quality of work and Louie made sure to address each and every issue. Contractors like Louie are very rare and when you find one it makes the stress with getting work done easier to deal with. Louie was very concerned that we are happy with the work and we strongly recommend M & J Roofing. Thank you Louie.

Louie is a lovely person with whom to deal. "Customer is always right" seems to be his moto. While I originally asked for only part of the flat roof to be replaced, they convinced me to do the entire thing at only a fraction above their competition. Seeing the completed project I am now glad I did as the continuous roofline is much nicer than having had patched it. He warned me that the roof may need plywood added to it and I asked him the worst case scenario cost of needing to pay for this new wood, so when I got the bill, I was not surprised. M&J was surprised when they peeled up 7 separate roofs on my old house before being able to put down said plywood (!!!!!!). Many others would have wanted to create a change order, but these guys kept to their quote and did not charge me for the extra work - let me repeat - 7 separate roofs, including one made of metal! They suggested some improvements on other areas and of course, this came at a cost, but again I thought all of it was very fair. He even added some drip cap metal material to soften the look of a wonky gutter in the front of the house (put on by another roofer) at no charge. Louie was always willing to hear me out and I'm a picky customer. While our bill did come out higher than the original quote due to the add-ons, I am confident had I had the same service and work done by another roofer it would have been much higher. The team was incredibly efficient and the quality of work was exemplery. There were some problems with the financing. His original quote was $13,000+. The date was set. He delivered the material. That morning, before anything had been started, he told me I needed plywood sheeting replacement for most of the roof at an addtional cost of $4,700. The total price of $18,000+ just for the roof replacement was in line with other estimates I had obtained, but I felt pressured to accept. I thought he should have discussed the plywood in the original estimate. I insisted on a receipt and found an error in his tabulation of $125. I am sure this was an arithmetic error but I feel he should regularly give customers a copy of there paid bills. He was very prommpt in reimbursing me. In general, I liked them very much and I overlooked these problems. I would definitely use them again.

This is the second job we've had M&J do. Once again, the work was done in a timely, professional fashion, and in spite of our delayed closing. The decking on part of the house needed replacing, and we had an extra, unexpected layer of shingles. The gutters and downspouts were place, and new drip edges installed where neede. The work was done in two days, and they returned twice to pick up nails and other debris. We would not hesitate to use M&J again and have (and will) continue to recommend their work. They are professionals in every sense of the word.
