Louie, the owner of the company, was very responsive. He was on site 75% of the time and his son was on site 100% of the time. They did everything they said they were going to do plus more. I would hire them again and would recommend them. The roofing job was complex because it is an older house, had 3 layers of old roof, and also has flat roofs.

the job went great. they showed up on time, cleaned up afterwords. I've learned in construction to remove the lowest and highest quotes you receive and go with who is in the middle and that is how I ended up with M&J Roofing. They offered a longer warranty than any other contractor. I received a 50 year roof shingle which looks amazing. I will never have to worry about my roof for the rest of my life. I would highly recommend them to anyone. excellent price with two skylights installed and re-flashing around the chimneys which wasn't included in my other quotes. The job was started and finished on time. Louie was a pleasure to work with beginning from the time of estimate to completion of the job. Mike and the crew were very friendly, courteous and it was clear that they took great pride in their work. The yard was thoroughly cleaned up after each day of work and when the job was done there was absolutely no debris left behind. They did a great job and the rebuilt chimney and roof look great. Also, the price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend this company.

Started out with a leaking skylight, Louis got back to me same day and scheduled an estimate for later that week. During estimate, it was determined that the skylight itself was leaking and would need to be replaced. Noting that the roof was looking older (over 20 years old and near/past life expectancy), Louis explained that if we planned on doing the roof any time soon (we were planning on doing it in the next couple of years), we'd save about a grand by doing it together with the skylight, since the roof would have to be ripped up in 3 feet in each direction of the skylight. We agreed and after going over available shingle options, he provided an original estimate of $13,600 for the skylight and roof, including removal of two existing layers of shingles, installation of a water barrier and drip edge to ward off ice-dam related leaks, and installation of a ridge vent along the peak. This estimate reflected the 10% off deal from angie's list, even though we never mentioned how we found him or any deals. The skylight was then ordered, and once it arrived a week later, Louis scheduled us for only a few days later. During the work, he noted (accurately) that the gutters looked horrendous, and were probably original to the house (they were), which was built in 1971. He provided an updated estimate on the spot, an additional $2300 for the new gutters, $500 for downspouts, and $600 for mesh metal topping (to prevent leaves/debris from getting into the gutters). Louis also noted the 3 passive vents on the bedroom side of the house, and suggested replacing them with a single electric vent fan. The crew removed the 3 vents, replaced the plywood where the front and side vents were, and installed the vent fan free of charge (didn't even charge for the vent fan itself). All work was done in 2 days, and Louis himself even did a final sweep for nails/trash/etc. when he arrived on the third day to review and discuss payment. During all of this, I myself was busy doing a bit of remodeling inside, meaning a LOT of trash from spare materials and boxing from shipments. Louis' crew offered to take as much as I could give them, which was fantastic, since it would have taken weeks to get rid of it all through the normal trash schedule. All told, the process was expedient, and the crew tremendously professional, and the cost was very reasonable (I got a quote a year or two ago for nearly double the price from another company!). The total ended up coming to $17,012, and he had us just round it off to $17,000 for simplicity. I certainly had the consistent feeling that the needs of my wife and I were the first priority through this process. If I or anyone I know is in need of roofing services, I absolutely know who I'll be going to/recommending.

They did a good job, finished quickly. I have used this company on three different occasions. This time major work needed to be done including sistering a rafter and replacing all the plywood before shingling.

Louie is a pleasure to work with. He was the only contractor who got up on the roof assessing the issues, taking pictures and measurements before presenting his quote. Louie worked right along with his crew who were both friendly and courteous. They cleaned up the whole yard to perfection. Any and all of our questions were answered every step of the way. The service was great from beginning to end. My initial email was returned with a phone call within 24 hours. They came out to quote the job on a Friday afternoon and were able to start the following Tuesday. The job came out great, was done within the quoted time and did an excellent job cleaning up after the job was done. I would not hesitate to use M&J again.

The work performed was exceptinal. All promises kept. Very flexible and reasonable. Total clean up after completion of job was meticulous. Extremely happy with quality of work done. Loie, Nick, Mike and the whole crew were very professional and polite. Thank you.

I don't give 5 stars too often. If you need a roof Louie and his team at M & J Roofing is your best choice. I had 5 quotes, and not only did Louie come in at a fair price...but my gut told me he was the guy for the job. I was right. I was impressed from the moment they arrived (20 minutes early) to set up till the moment they left, leaving my property in the same shape they found it. I can not recommend M & J high enough....look no further if you need a roofing contractor; you'll get integrity, honesty and a team that is professional and does a perfect job.

This was the 2nd time I hired MJ and am again very happy. They re-did the roof on our large horse barn, and repaired several areas of rot related to poor initial construction. They also replaced skylights, rebuilt the cupola, installed new siding and deck rails along a balcony. and added gutters. All the work was done in just over 2 days and at a reasonable price for the size of the job. Louie and his crew do a really nice job and the barn looks great With 3 inches of rain the next day, everything was dry.

Louie and his crew came to my home today and completely replaced my roof and my gutters, installed new vent penetrations for my bathrooms, and repaired my chimney cap and flashing. I truly appreciated Louie's honest and conscientious approach to the work. I was a little worried about the upcoming weather and he personally helped his crew complete the job in just one day to eliminate any of my concerns. Despite the impressive amount of work is such a short period of time, the attention to detail and the care and customer service displayed were excellent. They paid special attention to the pool area in the back, ensuring minimal debris was allowed to fall back there and did a thorough cleanup regardless once the job was done. The roof looks great, extremely professional and I've already received compliments from the neighbors. I wish they did other types of work because I would use them again and plan to recommend M&J to others in the market.

The crew from M&J Roofing was excellent in every way. They know the value of providing good customer service, a reasonable price and a high-quality installation. They arrived just before 8 a.m. as they said they would and, with an eight-person crew, finished the job in one day. The quality of their work speaks for itself: Our neighbors came out to admire their work throughout the day. Louie is such a pleasure to deal with, and as others have said, required no money until the job was done. How often does that happen? Also, the crew was top-notch, helpful and laughed a lot. Job was done very professionally and in two days. Everyone was very careful about dust and debris. Details and options were explained to us in a way that was easy for us to understand. They even corrected several mistakes made by a previous contractor at no additional charge. We could not have been more pleased with the entire experience.

If you need a new roof, stop looking right now. Louie and his crew did a fantastic job. It was quick, high quality, and at a reasonable price. Our roof and chimney were in bad shape. We discovered many problems as the job progressed. Nevertheless, In just 3 days, he addressed all our concerns and made our 33 year old house look brand new! What Louie says is true, he repairs your roof as if it were his own.

Louie came out the same day I called for an estimate, he explained the condition of the chimney and also took photos and gave us a competitive price. After we decided to go with them, he came back and went over all the details again. Had to wait for the weather to co-operate and then he came with his brother-in-law and another worker as scheduled and they completed the job the same day. They were very professional and courteous, and cleaned up everything. Very nice to deal with. The new chimney looks great and we would hire them again.

The job went very well, especially considering fluctuations in the late-season weather. They were great about showing up when they said that they would, and the whole M & J crew worked very hard for four days to finish the job. Their price was very competitive, and they made valuable suggestions for solving a couple of existing problems with chimney leaks and gutter/downspout drainage. The crew was particularly attentive to bushes and trees surrounding the house, and we appreciated their very thorough clean-up when finished to eliminate any nails, screws or other debris that could easily have been left behind. They also took pains to explain what they were doing and why. We very much enjoyed working with Louie, Mike and the entire crew!

Fantastic. Louie, his son Nick and their crew did a great job. On time, clean, professional. I'm very happy and satisfied. Finished on time, used a magnetic to pick up any nails. Nick was the last to leave, but not until his finished cleaning up. Their crew were great. They started cleaning while the others were still on the roof finishing up. I need siding and they will be the first ones I call. if you need a roof, you need to call Louie and Nick. You will not be disappointed! I'll post some pictures when I'm able to download them.
