Description of Work: Jason is great. He was onetime and did his best to fit us in his busy schedule on the day that we spoke on the phone for the first time. He did a very professional and through job of inspecting our roof and offering honest and educated diagnosis. He even offered some additional consultation and possible resolution about a problem, he noted about our chiming while he was on the roof. It's reassuring to find honest reliable professionals with great work ethic. I definitely recommend this company for your small or large scaled jobs.

Description of Work: Needing a total rip-off and gutters I interviewed 4 contractors, 2 from Angie's and 2 from other sources. We have a 2 story Dutch Colonial that had the original wood shakes that predated plywood for the wooden substrate. On top of these 4"x12" shakes there was 2 separate layers of asphalt shingles. House was built in the 1930's. Talking with general building contractors and researching roofing systems on the net I was ready to ask for the correct roofing applications, 1/2 inch CDX plywood, vapor barriers, roof venting, GAF brand architectural shingles, etc. While all 4 contractors knew what they were talking about, Jason of M&J Services shined. I feel I am a pretty good judge of residential contractors, (I was a professional house painter and restorer), I felt confident in Jason's presentation and promises. And I was right. The day before Jason's workforce arrived at 730 am, 30yard dumpster and roofing supplies arrived. Yep, 30 yarder, I told you it was going to be a total ripoff down to the joists. Jason has to be a great technician, work-trainer, and employer because this 4 man crew's work effort was inspiring to behold. As I said I was a professional painting contractor who had stripped and sanded many houses down to bare wood, so I know what a day's work is like and always encountering problems as you proceed. The crew was fantastic. They worked till 700pm that first day and another 11-12 hours the next, aided by the addition of 2 more workers with the house complete at about 730pm the second and final day. The gutter crew showed up the next day, and, voila, the house looks pristine! They raked the entire circumference and on a close inspection I haven't found a nail or fastener yet. Folks, this was a big, nasty job and M&J was impressive. Kudos to Jason and his professional crew. Oh, by the way. A 4 foot unused chimney atop the rear of the roof was dismantled and carted away. No charge. Jason's price was very competitive- and with a great, engaging personality Jason is a pleasure to deal with. He is super busy and I know why. Jason, please spend an extra week in the warm sun this next off-season, you're definitely working too hard. Thanks again Amigo.

Description of Work: M&J rebuilt my chimney above the roofline, and repaired my roof, after serious damage from a fallen tree. They did a great job, new chimney looks great and the shingles matched perfectly. Highly recommended. Good guys.

Description of Work: Our roof was leaking, so I looked into recommended roofers on Angie's List. I called several and M & J Roofing came right out and gave us an estimate to repair the roof.

Description of Work: I had my roof stripped and replaced with architectural shingles. The roof was a very difficult one to shingle due to uneven additions which had caused many roofing issues in the past. Jason imediately identified the issues and give me his best recommendations along with a guarentee for resolution. The crew showed up on time and worked diligently completeing the project within 2.5 days. Jason was on site for the entire project. In addition, I had them rebuild my chimney from the roof up. The workmanship was excellent and great care was taken with the stucture and appearance. I don't think I have every been happier with a home contractor. The price was a little higher than some others but the responsiveness and quality of the workmenship was well worth the slightly highter price. I highly recommend this company for their professionalism and workmenship. A+

Description of Work: My property manager called to contact company several times to get an estimate for roof repair and new roof. The Company was unresponsive and did not return calls.

Description of Work: They did some roofing repair work a couple of years ago. They also installed gutter screens. In one of the storms, the snow and ice had pealed a couple of them back. I called a few days later and they fixed the problem at no charge.

Description of Work: We not only had our roof replaced by M&J, but we also had both our chimney's almost completely taken down and re-built by them. We were very pleased - the work was completed in a timely manner and the employees worked constantly from the time they got here in the morning until they left in the evening. Every single day they would clean up the area before they left for the day. Very friendly and competent. We were extremely pleased and would highly recommend them.
