+ -1 moreThough we had (we thought) a good connection when Charlie Leogrande came before Thanksgiving to give an estimate on fairly simple work of remodeling our kitchen (resurfacing cabinets, countertops, new sink, new outside door, floor tile replacement), and I got to work right away choosing counter surfaces, doors, etc. Everything should be ready to go by January, okay Charlie? February? March? Some of the phone calls, he said he'd call me right back. Then in late spring, he let me know that he was building "the largest mall in America" in New Jersey! Acted (on the phone) like I should have known this! Gave me a number of someone else to call to do the job. Charlie flunked. I realized (too late) that the Angie's List high recommendations he had were all related to costly fancy remodeling jobs. We were too small I guess. Wish he told me that six months earlier.

+ 7 moreWe highly recommend Leogrande Development and would hire them again if we were to need remodeling in the future. We feel that the price was reasonable and that we received good value for our investment. It was a pleasure to work with Charlie. He is flexible and accommodating. He took us seriously and kicked around ideas with us, listened to our thoughts and made valuable suggestions. We were also very satisfied with the work crew. We were comfortable having them in the house, and they kept the work areas neat, clean, and orderly. They tried as well as possible to minimize dust and disruption. We are pleased with the workmanship, and Marty especially seemed conscientious, with good attention to detail. We were satisfied with the subcontractors, and Charlie even recommended people we could hire for work we needed outside of the remodeling project. We especially appreciated his putting us in touch with a painter who helped us out on short notice.
Description of Work: No structural changes were needed. The spaces to be finished all existed already. We wanted bath, laundry, and TV/exercise rooms over the garage, and an alcove finished off the guest room. Some of the features which make the bathroom are a large (4 by 7.5 ) 2-person shower, radiant floor warming mats underneath the floor and shower floor tiles, direct pipes from the basement to the bathroom, and recirculating hot water so we would not have to waste time and water waiting for hot water. The bid for the project included generic commodities such as the wood, drywall, etc.; we supplied almost everything to be installed, such as lighting fixtures, cabinets, plumbing fixtures, windows, etc. We had spent a lot of time nailing down exactly what we wanted in detail, and designing the layout of the rooms. Although we did make alterations and substitutions as the project progressed, this preparation contributed greatly to having a successful project, with few surprises.
