Arnold's Masonry and Construction LLC

I hired Arnold Masonry to find and fix a water leak in my chimney that had somehow survived two previous masons / chimney repairs, re-flashing twice, and replacing the roof. The good: * He was the only mason (of this round) who even returned my call. * He was the first to suggest that he starts by finding the leak with a garden hose. * He found the leak on the first day, and identified that the problem was a crumbling chimney cap due to inferior construction. * He replaced the chimney cap, and the leak has stopped (even through two hurricanes). * Total time: 3 days of labor, totaling about $4500. The bad: No complaints about the masonry performed, but * The leak-finding method only works if he actually sprays water into the leak. I didn't mind-- The interior stains were so bad that I didn't mind making them worse and I was pretty desperate to fix the problem-- but it makes the damage worse before it makes it better. (And you need to sign a waiver for the damage.) * He wants to be paid cash, on a daily basis. However, he does not seem to like to make predictions about how much each day will cost, so you either need to have a lot of cash on hand or run out to the bank when he finished for the day.

I had a difficult time finding someone who knew how to repair my old fieldstone retaining wall. Fortunately, I contacted Arnold who assured me that he had experience repairing this type of wall. When the work was scheduled, he and his crew arrived on time and I was informed of the work that would be completed each day. The repair work on the wall was skillfully done. Not only was Arnold's work meticulous, but he left my driveway cleaner than when he and the crew arrived. I'm very pleased with all the work completed by Arnold and would recommend him for masonry work without hesitation.

Arnold did a great job at our home, we hired him to fix part of our exterior wall that had worn over time, he and his team patched the wall and refinished the stucco, it looks good as new. He also re-appointed parts of our entryway stone, it also looks great. We received several quotes from other contractors, Arnold’s was one of the most affordable, and the quality of work was extremely high. We are going to hire him again soon to fix our back patio.

We had Arnold and his team repoint the mortar in the stone foundation of our old (around 200 years) house. They did a wonderful job and it looks fantastic. They worked quickly and were very personable. We look forward to having him back during the winter to fix the inside!

Arnold's Masonry did an excellent job fixing the front entry stairs to my house. They were cracked, had portions missing and in general, deteriorated. Excellent quality and professional attitude, and a personable family man to boot. We had Arnold replace our old falling-apart brick patio with paver stones and the results were fantastic. He had a handful of questions along the way as he came across minor issues (how the last row of blocks would lay out, things like that), and was attentive and careful around a shallow electrical conduit underneath the patio. Highly recommended.

Arnold did amazing! He was right on time, and worked efficiently throughout the day. He checked in with us to ensure that the work he was doing was what we wanted and up to our want/need. He was very kind and respecting of the residence and all of us coming in and out of the house. The stone size that we needed was not available but Arnold made sure to accommodate and provide us with an alternative using 2 stones that worked perfect and the walkway came out beautiful!

Arnold’s Masonry was a pleasure to work with. Arnold is a skilled craftsman and took my very vague concept of stairs and enhanced my outdoor landscape incrementally. He hand picked the stone and seemed genuinely invested in making sure I was engaged and collaborating in the process. I have many future projects and look forward to working with them again.

I had been looking for a mason for a while and I am very glad I finally found Arnold. He is very conscientious and detail oriented. We used Arnold's Masonry for a new patio installation. From the first contact, the communication was outstanding. We had them install a "paver" patio and it looks incredible.
