Alex Masonry

I cannot express enough praise and appreciation for a job well done. The front of my house now looks beautiful. After removing the old asphalt driveway and concrete walkway and stoops, pavers were installed on the driveway with a Belgian block apron as well as pavers on the walkway with a darker color border around both. Two concrete stoops and stairs were rebuilt, expanding one and topping both with blue stone on top and stone veneer on the sides. Each step of the way, from proposal to completion, Alex was helpful, pleasant, polite, knowledgeable, honest, fair with pricing and a great communicator. His crew is very skilled, hard working and punctual - they cleaned up every day. I had interviewed and received quotes from 9 other contractors, and I am happy I decided on No. 10: Alex Masonry.

It went very well. Alex Jr was very easy to work with. He listened to my concerns and told me what he could do to fix the issues. He explained that they weren’t just going to put cement in the gaps. They were going to grind out all of the old cement and then add the new cement. They were hear on time and completed everything that same week. They even spent time cleaning up anywhere they worked. I’m very pleased with this company and know very well that I’ll be calling them again.

Alex fit my job into his schedule and came in on budget despite having to do slightly more work than he initially realized. Just a genuinely nice guy who sticks to his word.

Job was just finished and we couldn't be happier with our new garage floor. Alex was professional and explained exactly what they were going to do each step of the way. He kept us informed of when the job would start, and once they arrived they remained on our job until it was completed. They were skilled in their craft and very pleasant to work with. They cleaned up nicely each day and the end product was exceptional. He wanted to be sure we were happy with everything before he left, and we were. I highly recommend this company. Every part of the crew was amazing – start to finish! We worked with Alex as we discussed our vision for the masonry work we desired. He was so patient and helpful as he came out several times during the consultation phase as we had more questions. He had lots of pictures of his work that also helped inspire us and spoke to their level of expertise. We met with Alex at the masonry yard to pick out our materials and his knowledge and experience was evident when answering all of our questions regarding texture, longevity, and price point. He brought samples from the yard that we could lay out where desiring and that made a huge difference in our decision of materials. Our work was (understandably) delayed due to lots of rain and Alex was great in keeping us posted about the expected timeline due to the unforeseen delays. The crew was respectful, kind, and hard-working and Alex was there the whole project supervising. They left the work site cleaner than when they arrived and kept me informed throughout the project. In addition to the aesthetic value, they also were able to fix some preexisting structural issues related to gradient/directing the rain water flow away from the house. Now, the outside of our home finally looks as updated and pretty as the inside of our home. The work gave our house instant curb appeal that it was missing and seamlessly incorporated the detached garage to the rest of the yard/house. Alex Masonry takes pride in their work, provide extremely fair pricing, and have a great work ethic. It feels nice to give good people your business.

He was terrific! There was a delay in setting up the starting date that was all our fault. He checked back often to ensure all was still on schedule. Today was the day he completed the work. It turned out better than I had even hoped for. Not only is he a really nice guy, but he is reliable, neat, and a superb mason. I highly recommend him if you want quality work at a reasonable price.

They did a great job placed a cement floor in basement in a very difficult area repaired a stone wall and repainted a 219 year old basement. They were professional on time and did an amazing job will use again if needed

We saw work that Alex Masonry did in our town and called them to request a quote for the exact same job. Alex Jr. was exceptional to deal with regarding the estimate, the project scope and timing of work. He returned my calls and texts promptly and pleasantly. His team of masonry experts did an awesome job! We are thrilled with our new front entryway and walkway. Our neighbors are jealous!

From the moment Alex met with us we knew this was the mason for us. He was very polite and informative. Alex took the time to suggest design and materials in a way that we could visualize. He was also augmenting the design with pictures and he was open to our suggestions and vision. Ultimately we went with paver stairs and walkway which is beautiful. we are extremely satisfied with the workmanship, honesty and integrity that Alex Masonry brings to the homeowner. We were so happy with the front of the house that we asked them to quote and do the work in the back. We ripped up some concrete and added a small paver walkway to the deck stairs. Everything they said they were going to do they did. There were no hidden charges and the cost of the project was fair. 10/10 would hire and recommend.

Alex and his father were professional, thorough, and produced excellent quality work. The price was very reasonable for the size of the job. They had a large enough crew to do the work quickly and efficiently with minimal disruption or inconvenience to us. We were very happy with our experience and highly recommend this company.

Excellent extremely professional gave me ideas of what could be done. Very impressed with the grading work as I was having water issues and now when it rains the water no longer puddles in that spot but drains the way it should. Appreciated that he asked if I could use the dirt as I took out two garden beds for the walkway and even moved the dirt for me. As I have many garden beds they were extremely careful as not to disturb them and told me which plants I needed to move. This company is all about making the customer happy. Would use him again and recommend him. Received many compliments on walkway and the workmanship of walkway

Bluestone was installed in front and pavers with bluestone trim on back patio. Everything looks amazing.

Alex was very responsive to any questions. The work was done very professionally and looks great.

It was wonderful. Alex and his team are professional, honest, competent, extremely friendly and pleasant. My job was challenging and had a few tricky situations and Alex handled everything very professionally. I interviewed 7 contractors and I am glad I selected Alex because he had the equipment and specialty to work on the patio properly and timely. Situations came up that weren't his fault but affected his job but he was patient about it. The approvals from the city made the job stop for a day, the stone we ordered didn't work and we had to re-order...in all that Alex was patient and provided professional advice. He answered the phone each time immediately and always returned text messages. We had no extra cost, and initial budget was accurate. I recommend Alex and his team to anyone.

We contacted Alex Masonry about removing a very small old patio and replacing it with a new stamped concrete patio. Alex suggested that we go with pavers as it would last longer; Alex asked why we were interested in stamped concrete and when we advised it was due to cost, he worked with us to get a stone paver patio within our budget. Communication with Alex was great, he always responded quickly, and within just a couple of weeks of providing a quote, we had a date for the work to be done. Alex's team was punctual, in fact they were 30 mins earlier than they were scheduled to be there and finished exactly when he said they would. The patio came out beautiful, we are so happy with the result. The team was fast and efficient; it was especially helpful that Alex and his team removed our old stones, placed it in a spot in the back of our yard for future use, and placed all the dirt in another area as requested so it too could be used for other projects going on in the backyard. We would absolutely hire Alex Masonry again and have provided their name to a few people interested in the same type of work we had done.

Ours was a small chimney job but one that needed to be done. I had a couple other estimates but wanted to wait the two weeks to get one from Alex due to great reviews on Angie's list. A little concerned we would get lost within the big jobs but Alex treated us as if we WERE a big job. Took care of a sidewalk issue for us while he was here as well. Very impressed with both the customer service skills, reliability, and the work quality. Definitely will be our choice for our patio and front porch work. Highly recommend !

The crew did an amazing job. Our patio looks like brand new. Alex did everything he said he would. They showed up when he said and delivered on everything we agreed to. My wife and I couldn't be happier with their work. We also added a fire pit and that also looks great. Their work was worth every penny.

Alex installed a new patio at our home recently, along with a small wall and added facing to a foundation wall. Alex and his crew did an excellent job, and we are very pleased with the results. They showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves, and overall did a great job. I would definitely recommend Alex Masonry.

From the first phone call asking for an estimate, Alex was tremendous. He came out right away for the estimate and took time with us to talk through the options. Quote was provided immediately and upon acceptance he scheduled us for a job on short-notice. I do not have enough nice things to say about Alex and his crew (including his father). He is extremely responsive (answered/returned all calls quickly), attentive, knowledgeable, considerate, and detail-oriented. He was punctual, arriving on time every day on the job. He stayed on-schedule (started the job when he sad he would...finished the job when he said he would) and did top-notch work. When we had questions, or made changes to the scope of the work Alex took time to listen and address our questions with respect. He offered his opinion forcing it down our throat. On the last day of the job, Alex and his crew finished the work around 6pm. Shortly thereafter, some unexpected rain entered the area. Even though I knew a light rain at that time most likely wouldn't have affected the concrete, Alex surprised me by rushing back to the site (just after the rain started) just to lay down some plastic to protect the surface. He had already been paid, and had been several towns away but still had the pride in his work and consideration to come back and make sure there were no problems. Not only that, but he stayed on-site during the rain just to monitor the conditions. While waiting, he even helped me on a totally separate project I was working on! Absolutely fantastic family-owned company. A+ work and service.

Words can now express the wonderful work the company did. I am now the envy of all that have seen the new backyard. If I could I would rate his work above you stated scale. Also, the owner took his time to help me dig out a tree stump. This was not in the scope of work but a reflection on his wonderful character. I am so happy with his work and can do attitude.

I needed to complete the concrete work before the weather was too cold. Since Alex was in demand I had to wait about 4 weeks before he could do the work. He kept me informed of the schedule and weather delays. He patiently explained what he needed to do to fix the cracks. We scaled back the work because the existing cement on the chimney only needed a patch vs a full replacement. When he left after almost completing the work, he left me a message with what needed to be completed down to straightening the chimney cover that I didn't even notice was crooked. When rain seeped in the garage he came the next day to help figure out where it was coming from and pointed out a hole in the garage trim that was letting water in. He promised to come back if the trim fix didn't solve the problem. I am extremely pleased with the work and time spent to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend him to others and use him for other work. I even got a Xmas message from Alex!

Alex and his team are fantastic. The quality of work was impeccable and we could not be more pleased with the outcome.
