+ -1 moreDon't bother with ADT. I moved into a new house and asked them to come in and quote for a new ADT system as I was unhappy with my existing provider. The ADT technician came in, gave a quote and when I called him a few days later to ask some follow up questions, he didn't bother to return my call - twice. I then called ADT and told them about this and they said the local CT office would get in touch with me to find out what happened and address questions I had. They too didn't call me so my conclusion - they simply can't be bothered.
Description of Work: Came to quote for installation of new security system.

+ -1 moreADT is not very responsive and is extremely expensive. Even with the maintenance package, they charge you for everything. I am in the process of switching because I don't feel protected with ADT. Customer service is horrendous (except for the sales people) and you get different information depending on the person you happen to get at any given time. I thought I would pay more to get more but that is absolutely NOT the case.

+ -1 moreWe are totally unimpressed with ADT...appears they are spread very thin from sales people, to managers to installers. We feel the salesperson was all about the sale and did not make sure the job would get done appropriately in a timely manner. We had to leave messages numerous times and only when I requested speaking with supervisors, did they respond to our messages. Further it did not appear there was any communication between sales and installers to makes sure there was enough time booked to install the project effectively. The sales area did not appear to understand the scope or time the job needed to be completed and therefore did not allot the number of installers or number of hours needed to complete. The installer was very honest and professional, but was unable to begin job with the short amount of time he was given to complete. I would not recommend this company, nor will I do business with them again in the future ,
Description of Work: We just moved into to a new home in Suffield, CT from East Longmeadow, MA and although there was a security system at this home in Suffield it was not active by previous owner. We had ADT, who bought out original Brinks system, for the seven years we owned our MA home, with little or no problems. So when we ended our service with ADT in MA home, their customer service encouraged us to give them a chance in our new home. This discussion with ADT customer service was over a week prior (7/16) to our moving and the first appointment we could make ADT's sales person came out on 8/2, over 10 days after we moved in. OK, no problem, we did look for another quote from a local company, who came out within the first two days in the home, but we wanted to see what new technology ADT had to offer. The sales person came over and walked through our home and we had a lengthy discussion of the options, costs and installation. They assured us that they would call us after returning to the office and reviewed all our homes security needs by that afternoon or at the latest the next day to discuss how best to set up the system and an installation date. After waiting almost three days and leaving at least two messages for the sales person, I called customer service to find out an installation date was set up, we were not aware. The installer came today, reviewed the job to be done, stating would not be able to achieve installation in the time allotted and would need at least another 4-6 hours over the 2 hours that was slated. They would not be able to complete for at least another eight days. We cancelled the entire job.

+ -1 moreThey have been adequate, but lately I have been perturbed by them. When the batteries go weak, they beep. It did this in the middle of the night, and it was annoying. I have been a customer for over twenty years, and it took me six months to get a refund. I had to call them back repeatedly. The price goes up every couple of years.

+ -1 moreHaving an alarm company offers my wife and I good of peace of mind. Why just on the news this week, you here of countless break-ins and harm done to innocent people in there own homes. I like the service but we don't really hear from them unless there's an alarm call. Unfortunately, our cat set the last one off. At least this way we know it works.

+ -1 moreThey told me someone would be here in a four hour window. No one came. I called them back and they said someone was on the way. One hour later, I called again and they said someone was on the way. I called a third time and they said that the call had been mysteriously cancelled. Eventually, the battery did get replaced. They are very friendly when the technicians come out, but the scheduling leaves much to be desired. I think they lied to me about a person coming out.
