The response from Ray Lodato (Customer Service and consequently Warranty Services) at PHRG following my filing the review expressing our disappointment and anger at the reaction to our ice damming problems after installation of a new roof in Dec.2014 has been extremely helpful! If we could have gotten that response when the initial inspector came out to investigate our problems this review would probably have replaced the first one. I was assured by Ray Lodato that they were looking to resolve that particular issue as well. PHRG sent a very competent young man to fix and patch the water damage done to our ceiling. He also reinspected the section of the roof and made some adjustments. He did an excellent job. The only downside was that it took several weeks of about 1 visit a week because of scheduling. A little inconvenient but no problem! We used the $500 to offset the cost of having a company install new heating wires on that area of roof, along the gutters, and down the downspouts. When that company suggested the two downspouts needed to be larger to accommodate the runoff generated by the pitch of that area of roof PHRG changed those out at no charge since they had initially installed the gutter system along with the new roof. Upon cleaning my gutters this fall I have a couple of other questions I now feel comfortable about calling and asking. All in all I am satisfied with the response and help from Ray Lodato at Power Home Remodeling Group. Thank you!
Description of Work: In response to my initial review and the issues we had with Power Home Remodeling Group I am very happy to report that the company completely repaired the ceiling damage resulting from the water leaks. They also gave us $500 to defray the cost of installing new heating coils on the section of the roof vulnerable to ice damming. 2 larger downspouts were also installed at no charge.

We were considering replacing the rear two doors to the house when PRG called (by total coincidence). We made an appointment and salesman came out and we went through the catalog. Even though the doors are on the pricier side they are made in America which is an important point for us. The workers arrived on time and started the work. Other than the foreman smoking on our porch, everything went fine. We are non-smokers and don't like when outsiders smoke even on our property let alone inside our home (I consider the back porch inside). The smell lasted for days. We reported the issue to PRG and they assured us that someone would call to get details and take care of it for us. NO ONE ever called. This is disappointing since in the past PRG has always been very responsive to our issues. One of the workers also had a cold and my wife got it. He failed to take proper precautions of keeping his hands clean and covering his mouth when sneezing. These seem to be minor things but it can make a big difference. The doors themselves are great. We were hoping to get the "auto-lock" for both doors but unfortunately, the outer door didn't have the room. This apparently wasn't obvious at the time we ordered. The doors were also "lost" at some point. PRG called and told us they needed to reorder the doors because they could not find them in the warehouse. The install was delayed a week. I have no reason to doubt them but still. Although we had some bumps in the road the doors are great and the install team was very efficient.

They removed the old roof and installed the new one including all cleanup and disposal. They arrived early (around 7am) which is fine since I was already up and working. They stayed a full 14 hours to finish the job in one day (good thing was the summer with long days). They were careful in making sure they did not trample the landscaping in the front and after the installation I found no issues there. This was very much appreciated.

Everthing went splendidly. The crew arrived on time and organized their tools and materials straight away. The crew "chief" first made sure that the custom designed windows matched the windows to be replaced. The other two crew members seemed to be responsible for removing the old windows and getting the correct windows into the hands of the installer. Most of the windows were fairly straightforward to replace. A large window in the kitchen was difficult to access, sitting as it did just behind the kitchen sink complete with "tall" fixtures. Using large plastic tarps, installer protected the kitchen from detritus. With almost surgical precision, he jockeyed the large replacement window around the obstacles and into position. Before, during, and after the installation process, project managers from Power provided rich communications, informing me of all the timing of the steps and posing questions to me to assess my perspective on the project. Midway through the installation, one of the project managers appeared at the house to review everything that had been done up to that point and to review the plan for the remainder of the installation. They completed the project in exactly the amount of time predicted. I should mention that after signing the initial contract, a manufacturing and installation assessor looked at every window to be replaced to make sure all the measurements had been made correctly. Once satisfied, he ordered the new windows to be manufactured. Frankly I was surprised by the involvement of so many from the beginning.

Each time someone has called to confirm the appointment either the evening before or the same day. During the call the representative asks about my credit. When I indicate that it is not great, I get later a call cancelling the appointment. I was not looking for financing. My impression is that the company doesn't feel that they can make enough from doing business with me. Their free estimate offer is a marketing scam.

This was a very positive experience!!! The installers of the Windows were on time, polite and very professional. They responded to my requests and did a great clean-up job. When the project manager came, we reviewed what was done. A mistake was discovered in my bedroom. Needless to say, that error is being corrected,at no cost to me.Even better, it was done without a hassle!!!This company stands behind their product and their commitment to providing a good product, a responsibility to the consumer makes them a top-notch dealer!!I would have no qualms about singing their praises!!!!

First off if you are thinking of having this company come to your home for a consultation get ready for a long night. The representative was very nice when he first arrived, but the presentation turned into a 5 hour marathon. Its good he knew his stuff, but 5 hours really. I originally made an appointment to see about getting additional insulation installed in the attic and eves, however when the representative came by and took a look, he looked up in the attic and proceeded to convince me that my roof needs to be done (this is what they primarily do, roofing) due to an infestation of white fungus in the attic. So he went on his 5 hour long rant about the roof and how good they are and such and when it came to pricing, the roof alone, never mind the insulation, would be around $15,000 for a 1000 sq foot roof. Seemed like way too much money, but he convince me it was the only way to take care of the "white fungus", and the fact that it was now 11:00 at night tired me agreed to the roof and insulation, which came to around $23,000. So I woke up the next day rested and sane and decided to call in someone else to check this white fungus problem. Turns out no white fungus could be seen and I was certain the fungus he showed me on his camera was from the glare of the flash. So I call to cancel within there 3 day grace period to find out someone has to come to my house for me to officially cancel, great. So another salesman shows up and tried to convince me to go with other services they provide, such as slider doors and garage doors. So after telling him I'm just not interested in getting work done about 4 times (he kept lowering the price everytime I said no) he made me an offer I agreed on. However this is not the end, representative has to come back to my house for measurements, turns out the attic insulation I was getting, solar eclipse, needs 4 feet of head room and I have less than that in my attic, so the representative told me they couldn't do it. At this point I'm pretty irritated and ended up canceling all together successfully. You would think that all their service representatives would know more about the products they are selling you. So in the end I would not recommend them, I'm sure they do good work, but it's not worth it to me. Plus the company contracts out some of the work such as the garage door, so I would just get those things done separately straight from the makers. Also they will not give you a break down of all the work that is to be done, it comes in as a lump sum, so you have no way of knowing what each item costs.
Description of Work: This company came to give us a quote for attic and eve insulation, but it turned into more.

It was a fantastic experience. They had everything delivered the Friday before the job started. The 1st day of the project, they were 3-4 hours in and the project manager showed up to make sure things were going well. While we were speaking, the Quality Control manager showed up on site. I was shocked. We spent about an hour talking about the project that day, and the Quality Control manager came back the next day as well. The crew cleaned up thoroughly every night. They raked around the entire house, and even had a magnetic device that rolled across the yard to pick up any additional nails that could have fallen. They gave me the best service I could have ever imagined. I was amazed that the project manager and the quality control manager came on site. The pricing was in line with what we had estimated with other contractors, but their service was beyond exceptional. They went above and beyond anything I could have expected. I have never seen such cleanliness, and they were incredibly professional. I was thoroughly amazed, and I would recommend them to every one I know.

We purchased 14 windows out of 24 in our house, we plan on doing the other 10 next year, because windows are a huge cost. Anyway, the windows are vinyl type and are excellent quality. A (3) man crew arrived and installed all 14 windows in about 7hrs - they did not stop once - they were professional, friendly, clean, and best of all HAPPY to be doing their job. I believe the foreman on my job was Norbert and he was great. They installed all the windows flawlessly - they look great inside and out. They put down drop clothes and taped up the windows, removed them from the outside in and there was not a single speck of dirt or debris left - they cleaned up everything, even vacuuming up afterwards. During the project, a quality assurance person and project manager both called to see how everything was going. I am very happy with the windows and I am looking forward to the colder weather - I'll really be able to compare performance since I have a set of ORIGINAL 60 yr old windows in place as well as a new set of windows. If I could have the same team who worked on my windows work on all of my hosue projects, I'd be thrilled.
Description of Work: I contacted Power Home Remodeling Group to get an estimate on windows. They came and provided a lengthy presentation of their windows, discussed our concerns, and presented various pricing options. The salesman was very personable and knowledgable and we did not feel pressured, but it was a hard sell type of scenario - sort of here is a price you can only get today. That was the only aspect that is a drawback. I'd advise getting prices from other vendors first, and Power last, so you have more to compare. However, many vendors have this sort of tactic. In any event, they always answered every question, a live person answers their phones, and they follow up great.

They did an excellent job and it's helped tremendously with energy efficiency in the condo. They had such a hard time trying to get the old windows out and they remained professional and cleaned up everything. I also had them replace windows in my home. They were fantastic. If there was a problem with traffic or anything they'd call and let me know. My windows came with a guarantee and if I sell my home the contract for the windows transfers to the next home owner. I know you can probably find lower prices, but when you put the whole picture together you get the best deal with this company. The other contractors just don't back up their work like this company does.

We contacted Power Home for an estimate to install a new roof on the house, mind you they were the 2nd place we called - The initial visit was impressive and the salesman seemed to know his stuff. About 2 weeks later there was a follow up visit from another salesman to entice us to sign a contract. They gave us 3 tier pricing and came down about 4000.00 in the their intial price. However we felt like we were being pushed and after a heated discussion he left. We called another company to give us an estimate and using all the SAME exact products the price was considerably less. Shop around!

Power Home Remodeling Group The crew that came were excellent. They did the work and did an extremely great job. The company is a piece of crap, when the salesman was here he misrepresented himself. What happened was that, he came here, looked at the attic, saw the roof and gave an estimate of $14,400. I could have had it done for a couple of thousand less but I said "okay." They did it. They come with the truck, with all the supplies, they unload everything and they started to rip my roof off. He said "we got to replace the plywood." I get a local call saying they need another $4,000. I told them I was only going to pay them what was on the contract, I'm not paying anymore. They finally agreed to do it for that price. The people soliciting the work, I think is dishonest in what they do. They were in time. The people who did the work were very professional and the were good people.

Response from Power Home Remodeling
Member, I would like to respond to this review, as their are a few inaccuracies that do not reflect the reality of the situation. When this project was originally installed - in May of 2011 - Power was just beginning to make its way in the roofing industry. Since that time, we've become one of the largest residential roofing companies in the United States and have changed our policies considerably to take into account situations such as this. When installing a new roof, determining the structural integrity of the decking is paramount - it is the foundation of the roof and if it is not strong, all that will be built upon it will ultimately an exercise in futility. It is almost impossible to determine the quality and strength of a roof's decking until we begin to tear off the old shingles and underlayment. At this point in the process, we became aware of the considerable issues this customer's decking had, which forced us to replace the wood used for the roof's foundation. Today, we make all customers aware of this possibility during the signing of the original roofing contract - each customer has to initial a portion of the contract that refers to this eventual possibility. Power offers 300 feet of wood replacement for free with each of it's roofing projects, but if the wood necessary for replacement exceeds that allotment, we must add to the price of the project in order to cover our costs. Ultimately, we decided to not charge this customer the additional $3,100 - which was the actual figure - because we did not make them aware of this eventual possibility in the same fashion as we do now for all of our customers. Incidents such as this have caused us to modify details in our approach to roofing projects so as to make the customer fully aware of all possible outcomes at the onset of the project. If you'd like to discuss your experience further, please feel free to reach out to me. Yours in Service, Ray Lodato Customer Advocacy Manager Power Home Remodeling Group 610.874.5000 x 2260

Last week we made an appointment for an estimate today for replacing all the windows in the my house and also probably two doors.. Today Frank called and refused to do business with me, the sole owner, unless my husband was present for the estimate (I'm single and informed him of that, though my marital status is none of his business). He also got my name wrong (he thought the name of the street was my name). I'll get someone else for my job.

My experience with them was good. I am not jumping up and down for joy because my expectation was that our roof would get done in one day. I was told it most likely would. But, it took two full days. However, they did a good job. The crew was good and worked very hard. (nearly 12 hours the first day and about 9 hours the second day, which was also a saturday.) I wish I had better communication with the project manager or foreman on the job. I didn't meet the foreman until the very end when I had to sign a check. And, the project manager contacted me half way through the second day of work. So until then, I just spoke to random members of the crew. One of them was even kind enough to keep me posted on the first day while I was out of my house. Once I did meet the project manager though, he was very responsive and answered all my questions. I just wish he was available throughout the job, rather than at the very end only. Overall, I am satisfied with the work they have done, and would consider using them again in the future for other jobs around the house, like redoing the siding.
