We have used Hoffman Energy for the 38 years we have lived in this house for both Burner Servicing and hot water heater issues. We have never been disappointed. Someone always answers the phone regardless of the time of day/night and servicing set up when warranted in the most timely fashion. The Servicemen have been informative, knowledgeable, courteous, and mindful of home for cleanliness. I would definitely recommend Hoffman Energy.

As usual, our annual service went very well. We had to replace the furnace in this house almost as soon as we moved in. We went with Hoffman for a new furnace ten years plus ago. There have been no problems with the furnace since. Hoffman helped us get the original oil tank removed before it leaked. The house had been built around the big tank! We now have two small connected ones in the crawl space. No problems with that set-up either.
Description of Work: We have a service contract to annually inspect our furnace & its oil tank in our miserable crawl space. At the visit, which is easily scheduled & for which Hoffman phones reminders & then just before the technician arrives, the furnace is vacuumed clean. Every technician over the ten years here in this house & the 33 years at our last house who worked for Hoffman has been very polite & neat.

Starting in November, every month sometimes twice a month an oil truck would show up and try to deliver oil. Every time I'd call the rep would say he's probably just in the area. They finally managed to get in 2 extra deliveries against my wishes. I now have a bill twice as much as I usually pay. The rep. Finally admitted that the company is doing this because they're not making enough money. Never again. They are thieves

The people are decent and sociable. It was Hoffman Fuel and they changed to Hoffman Energy. If I had to do the job again I would do it with other people. They tried to make it up to me.

Hoffman provided the best rate in the Danbury area for fuel oil. I checked rates from at least 6 local oil companies and Hoffman was almost 50 cents less per gallon than the highest competitor price. Staff were professional and courteous over the phone. No issues with deliveries or billing.

If you are an heating oil customer, they provide air conditioning services also. They are a very good company. They come in when they are supposed to and give very good pricing. They are clean and efficient. They don't drop any oil on the floor. They are excellent and their technicians are efficient. They have 24/7 service so, they come out anytime you call them.

They are little bit more expensive. They are probably not the cheapest around. We liked their service so we kept them.
Description of Work: I used Hoffman Fuel Co for heating oil. We used them for twenty eight years. They did refueling and couple of times when the furnace went out in winter, they came immediately.

Salesman was sleazy. They sub out the excavation. Their pricing was terrible (use tank masters instead). They wanted to match prices until the time it came to do so and then they weren't interested in doing so. Note, this report is only about their tank installation and removal service. We had used them for fuel and burner service for 40+ years. They seem to do a good job on that, though I cannot speak to their prices.

Do stay away from these people!! Various co-ops cover fuel oil, electricity, and propane, and prices much better!! Go online!! Several of them in Tri-state area!!
Description of Work: Have a delivery contract with them from 7/2010 til 7/2011, locked at $3.51 per gallon. Received bill last month charging me $4.44 /gal!!! (@ $1000 for a tank fuel oil!!!). Looked at past invoices, and found they had charged me on average $3.96/gal. Called billing Dept, told they would fix problem and send me revised bill. Ten days later received same bill for over $1000!!! Either they're incompetent, or dishonest; I can't figure out which. This 25 year customer will not be renewing contract again, but will join Citizen's co-op in July.(Oil company charges you $499 if you cancel a contract early!!!)

THEY HAVE COME OUT DAY AND NIGHT AND EVEN ON HOLIDAYS IF IT IS AN EMERGENCY. I HAVE GONE THROUGH SEVERAL REPAIRMEN, BUT USING THEM KEEPS THEM AWAY. SINCE SOMEONE TOLD ME TO GET IT CHECKED OUT YEARLY THE OVERALL REPAIR WORK HAS GONE DOWN.
