I picked this provider based on the recommendation of several relatives who had used them, as well as the good reports I read on Angie's List. To start, I'd have to say this their work is excellent. I have a beautiful driveway that I expect to have for many years. The cost was expensive, but fair for the work that was done. The only complaint I have is that the company seems to have some difficulty in scheduling their work. I signed a contract on August 27, 2013 for the work to be done and was told by the owner that he expected to be able to complete the job before the end of the season, barring any unusual weather. He did not guarantee that it would be done, but expected it would be done. We had unusually good weather that fall and I expected a finished driveway before the weather got cold. I made several contacts with the owner throughout the fall, asking when the job would start. They did not begin the work until November and it was quite obvious by that time that the job would not be done until the spring of 2014. As it was explained to me, having the driveway settle through the winter would insure a better base, and if the owner had put it to me that way from the beginning, I would probably have instructed them to wait until spring to install the asphalt. As it was, I felt frustrated in the waiting. If my review were based on the quality of the job, I would rate J Fragale & Sons as "excellent". Taking into account the delay in getting the job done and the unfulfilled expectation of having it done before winter, the overall experience was much less than excellent. If I have another project involving asphalt, I would certainly contract with J Fragale & Sons, but I would not expect the job to be done quickly.

Dan Fragale was prompt, courteous and friendly. He was extremely thorough in his examination of the driveway, the surrounding yard and obstacles. He paid a lot of attention to pitch details and was great at explaining all he would do to address the issues. His install specs seem to exceed all other quotes we received. Dan says he is personally on all the jobs. I have hired contractors before who you think will be there only to find out they hire subs and you are working with strangers. I would have had no issue hiring Fragale - except for price. Unfortunately, our quoted price was more than 2 times what we received from 3 other contractors. Don't let this stop you from giving him a chance. Perhaps something was askew in our quote, but it was beyond the money we budgeted.

Absolutely fantastic. Dan Fragale is awesome. Fragale Paving is a third-generation paving company. Dan takes so much pride in his work - if you need a driveway - do not go to anyone else. You will get the best job possible. Awesome job. Great work ethic. It was a joy to work with Dan and his crew. We are thrilled.

Contractor was quick and responsive. Came and gave us an estimate with 2 different options for a new driveway. We decided to wait another year, but will consider using them.

The whole process took approximately two to three weeks. The crews came promptly when they said they would, were neat, and really knew their stuff. Fast and efficient, and very friendly. They were also very clean and neat, and there was never any messy unsightly stuff around to upset us or our neighbors. We are very pleased with J. Fragale and Sons and we would highly recommend them. We obtained three estimates from various local companies, and all three were within $300 of each other. Fragale was smack dab in the middle but we liked his demeanor and sincerity and his explanation of how he would do what we wanted when we spoke with him. He addressed all concerns we had, and executed them fully. We give him 5/5 stars and would give 6 if we could!

They did a great job. They have great work ethic. They came when they said they would; and they did what they said what they would do.
