COMPUTER OBSESSION

Description of Work: Dean Benton is a right and left brain guy. He is a computer n***, but cool about it, and appreciates the creative nature of technology in the hands of humans. We have, after 2 other IT support entities, contracted with Mr. Benton for annually renewing IT support services for our small Family Medicine practice. He initiated our first real firewall protection, saw us through the change to an entirely new EMR (electronic medical record) system, and steered us straight re: new hardware. He will probably agree that we "broke him in" to the medical IT field, but he is now the expert. We (my husband and I) were understandably gunshy about tech support, having been overcharged and misdirected for 6 years, and Dean remained patient and unruffled by our many second-guessings and skepticism. As regards accessibility, Dean always picks up the phone during business hours, and will always address an issue, even if it is to set up a better time to deal with it. He is very responsive to email, and I would say that if you have a quick question, it is just as prompt to send an email, as to call on the phone. And by the way, if it is not business hours, by all means, use email. Dean is a good business man in that he hustles for his business, and will always have a product to offer. By the same token, he is cool with "trialing" a product if you are unsure, or just giving you specs to go out and do your own research. But consider yourself warned-you will usually go back to him for your needs. Dean's services are an excellent value because of his truly extensive experience in computers over tme and variation, and because of his accessibility. His location is easy to get to, and his hours are suitable. Finally, he is a really nice guy, and a fun conversationalist.
