The installers arrived as scheduled, and took most of the day with the wired install. All of their work was hidden and I did not have to move anything out of the way. I was pleased with the end result. When I had to run an errand, they even stayed later to go through the system with me. One lesson I have learned is to insist on a complete set of installation, programming, and user manuals that the installers have for each system. After Rollins went out of business, I cannot tell you how many times those manuals saved my old system from being unrepairable. I also insist that the installers do not use any "tricks" or "trap doors" to prevent others from servicing the system. Michael readily agreed with these terms. I can tell you that most companies I talked to would not. The system is working great now, and I am confident that Michael and his crew will look after this system for years to come. The system he offers includes components readily available on the internet. If they go the way of Rollins some day, I am confident I can hire others to work on this system.
Description of Work: We were replacing a 23 year old security system made by Rollins, long out of business. ADT gave limited support for our system, but parts were essentially impossible. When one major component finally broke, we decided to shop for a new system. I was amazed how all of the major alarm companies are tagging you with a 3-year service agreement now. They are now acting like cell phone companies, but without the break on the up front equipment costs! It does not seem fair to me. Finally, our insurance agent suggested we look at Dynamark. Michael immediately allayed my concerns by telling us he did not require any service agreement. He said, you pay for a month of service, you get a month of service. Continue for whatever term you want. In addition, he was willing to offer a completely wired system. Everyone else had a wireless system. I have had experience with both, and I prefer the wired system. I think they are more reliable. The cost to install was higher but I think it will be worth it.
