We went with Pack-Timco to install a new central air conditioning system. We had previously used them to install our previous one. Options and pros and cons of various systems were discussed. Job was done professionally on the date promised for the installation and rapidly and professionally performed. We could not be more pleased.

the compressor did not come on when the thermostats were switched to cool. We called Pack-Timco and they responded within the hour and fixed the unit with small repair. We have been using this company for 14 years and they have always provided top rate service. Their technicians are all top notch.

These guys are organized, diligent, thorough, polite, knowledgable… etc etc. Great experience working with them.

The HVAC system was down in my mother in laws apartment. They came during a bad snow storm and promptly fixed it.

The service technicians I have had from Pack-Timco have all been competent. They know their stuff and work efficiently. The work has always been done right the first time. The price was high. They charge over $100 per hour for the service tech, and that charge includes the time they spend at the end of the visit, sitting in their van writing up their detailed report. The last time they sent a tech, he brought in his shop-vac, set it on our white carpeting, and vacuumed out the air handler. Then he went outside. As he was going out, I noticed a big black stain on our carpeting where his vacuum had been. I pointed it out to him and he replied and quot;don't worry, just let me borrow your vacuum for a minute and I'll clean that up. We provided our home vacuum and I heard him using it a few minutes later. He wrote up his report, gave it to me, discussed the condition of the air conditioning system, and left. He did not mention anything about the big black stain on the carpet, so I assumed that he had successfully removed it with the vacuum. Imagine my surprise when I went upstairs that evening and found the big black stain still on our white carpet! The tech had snuck out of the house without mentioning that he had been completely unable to remove the stain! I called the company and spoke to Mike. He said and quot;sorry about that; please hire a carpet cleaning company to take care of it, and send me the bill.and quot; I sent the bill to Mike on June 28th, and have been calling him every month since then, but they have not reimbursed me for the cost of the carpet cleaning. I even tried leaving a phone message for the owner of the company, Mr. Glenn Pack. It has become clear that Pack-Timco has no intention of reimbursing us for the money we spent cleaning up THEIR mess. Which is too bad, because if they had been a bit more responsive, I would have continued to use them for our annual air conditioning service for many years to come. Not now. I now go elsewhere, and suggest that other Angie's List subscribers do the same.

The initial quote was done by a man we had known at the company, but surprisingly was for another brand of unit, different from our current HVAC system, which they had always maintained for us and had always assured us was a great brand. I asked them to requote with my preferred brand, and after a couple of follow-ups on my part, the owner let me know that my usual guy was no longer with the company, no explanation given. And then I was gently stalled on my request for a requote to replace the same brand they were taking out, that had been such a great workhorse for us. The owner pointed out that the installation was more important than the brand of the unit. If I wanted the same brand that I had now, it would cost more. Fair enough, but having my usual guy go missing in the middle of the deal, and then a seeming reluctance to install what they had always recommended in the past, made us decide to go elsewhere. Did anything go "wrong"- not really, but we just weren't comfortable that they were the same company they had been in the past.

The technician (very friendly) arrived on time and performed the maintenance on the gas boiler. He asked to check out the two air conditioner units while he was there. I agreed. The entire process took approximately three hours, hence a larger total bill than I was initially expecting. Overall, even though the price seemed a bit high, the quality and thoroughness of the work more than justified the cost.

The quality of their work was great. I would recommend them because they provide good service and good quality work.

It was time to replace our antiquated HVAC units which where over 24 years old. I got several quotes from several contractors each offering a variety of solutions. I selected Pack Timco because Glenn Pack, the owner provided the most detailed proposal and demonstrated a real understanding of what my requirements were. He was SIGNIFICANTLY more knowledgable about HVAC than the other gentlemen who provided quotes. It took a little bit of time to get the job scheduled, but once we set the date, he and his crew showed up right on time. Over the course of the 4 day installation, everyone was extremely courteous and professional. They were also very neat, the first thing they did when they arrived was line the path from the door to the work area with plastic and tarps. This was a very big project for us and I couldn't be more pleased with quality of components selected for the job, the workmanship, and the communication provided by Pack Timco. There guys are real pros.

They are very expensive, which is primarily why we left. The technician's varied in expertise. If you received someone who did not do a good job, there would be a redundancy of people coming back to fix the problem.

Always excellent customer service! They are reliable and a pleasure to deal with! They are coming to install a new hot water heater in our new home when we move in.

Poor customer service. They had to return 5/6 times to get the system to work properly. No matter how the thermostat was adjusted it would not work. I made multiple phone calls to them but they were not returned to me. Just poor communication over all. The furnace was fixed finally.

The installation was good but they had to come back to replace the condensation pump. Very importantly the new system heats and cools the upstairs properly which is a huge improvement

Very prompt, very responsive, but... didn't have parts on hand and made no effort to schedule a follow up. Advised me to order my own parts and fix. Service guy seemed very "unprofessional" sloppy, slow-moving.

THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS AN A. THEY CAME OUT. THE PEOPLE ARE PROFESSIONAL AND CLEAN. THE TRUCK WAS CLEAN, AND THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. THEY DRESS FOR WORK. THEY GOT DOWN TO BUSINESS AND CLERLY EXPLAINED WHAT WAS WRONG AND HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST ME.

I WAS NOT HAPPY BECAUSE IT SEEMED LIKE THE PEOPLE WHO CAME TO DO THE WORK WERE NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE OR PROFESSIONAL ENOUGH TO DO THE WORK. THEY MADE NICE HOLES, BUT THEY DID NOT PUT THEM IN THE RIGHT PLACE, SO TO SPEAK. I AM STILL NOT HAPPY WITH THE WAY THEY INSTALLED THE SYSTEM. IT IS KIND OF HANGING OVER THE PLACE IN THE ATTIC. MAYBE THERE IS NOT A BETTER WAY TO DO IT BECAUSE I AM NOT AN AIR CONDITIONING PERSON.
