We live in Fairfield. I was with a big local HVAC company and they kept sending low level service people that never fixed anything. Appointments were hard to get and proposals took forever. Their invoices were a mess and for a big company the tech was really outdated. A good friend recommended Hulse after working with them for many years and I can say I they are the best HVAC company we have ever used. Their team is knowledgeable. Their prices are very fair. They are honest. They generate clean proposals. They run service titan so their scheduling and appointment confirmation system is modern. The invoices are super clean. Their office picks up the phone. They are friendly. They have done small fixes and big projects for us and all has been done with craftsmanship. I don't know what else anyone could ask for with a HVAC company. Best HVAC company in Connecticut.

This company is corrupt and take part in shady business practices. We purchased a home where they had serviced the AC prior to closing. They zip tied opened the dampeners that weren't working and pumped the system full of Freon to cover up a leak. The first night we spent in the house the AC went out, we have a 2 year old son that we almost had to take to the hospital for heat exhaustion. When we asked them to send the service notes they said it was confidential and wouldn't supply them. We will be taking them and the previous home owner to court for fraud. !!!!!Stay Away!!!!! Also, none of them no how to work a computer or send an email.

They did a good job and I would hire them again.

Work done promptly, but won't know if "fixing" was best choice until some time elapses.

I would give them excellent grades. They are the ones that installed my HVAC so I called them. They have always been very prompt and, again, they were very prompt. I know everybody practically by their first names over there so I can't give them any bad grades. They did not charge me. Their quality was fine. They are good. It took them 15 minutes to get the work done. The worker that came out was excellent. They go way back with me. They were the ones when I bought this house nine years ago and installed the new plumbing and heating. At that time they were not tidy. I have not dealt with them in any way that would say they changed or that they are messy now. I don't know. Nine years ago when i used them they were messy and left things unfinished.

I'll give them A's just right across the board. Would I use them again in the future? Yes, I've used them a couple of times already.

They were excellent. They were really knowledgeable and experienced with Navien and their pricing was very reasonable compared to other companies. Our unit was under warranty and we didn't have to wait and pay the $3000 replacement charge that Navien usually requires for the return of the old unit, because they have a good relationship with their supplier.

H. Hulse and main contact Chris P. did an excellent job. They did the job promptly, in the timeframe estimated, and heating system seems to be working fine. They were courteous and cleaned up the work area nicely after the job was done. They also included a few extra things for no extra cost (i.e. adjusting our air handlers, getting our propane fireplaces to work). I thought they did an excellent job and I recommended them to a friend, who also hired them to install a new boiler.

Please make sure to see our other review about Hulse's repair service, which has a different rating. We hired Hulse for two air conditioner installations, because we have been very happy with their repair service. The second installation went very smoothly and was a good price of about $3500. The first installation was for a furnace and air conditioner (approximately $6500 - equally good price). However, we encountered the following problems with this installation: 1. They didn't install a necessary electrical outlet (as per code) near the air conditioner unit. 2. The furnace blower was installed on the same electrical circuit as our existing water pump, thus the circuit breaker would trip every time the air conditioner and water pump turned on. We ended up having to install a new circuit breaker ourselves. 3. They didn't insulate the air plenum, as per code. 4. Although they did pull the permit for the work, we found out weeks later that it was never inspected (although they were responsible to get the inspection completed). When we did call the inspector and he came, we found out about problems 1 and 2 above (missing plug and insulation). Overall, we would not hire Hulse again for installation services again.

Every time we've called Hulse for an a/c repair, we have been pleased with their prices and their work. We always trust their repair work and will definitely call them next time. We are writing a separate review about their installation services, as we have a different point of view regarding that.

Hulse was the highest of 5 quotes but we decided to go with them because they were recommended by a work colleague and we didn't want to take a chance with such a large investment. Their representative came over to provide a quote and left behind brochures. When I did more research online on American Standard air conditioners I realized that model numbers were not provided for which I had to call them. On the day of installation they tried to switch to a different older type of air handler than the one that I was quoted for. I could not have caught them in this if I had not insisted on the model numbers. It took them almost half a day to get the correct hyperion air handler and since it was a Friday before a long weekend, their workers just rushed through the whole process doing a very shoddy job of the install. I can provide pictures of how play dough or some putty like substance was used to fill in all the gaps in what should be a brand new air handler. There was air leaking from all around the air handler and so we could not use it for the first week till they could come back to fix it as the air conditioner only cooled the space around it and no other room. It took them seven visits to try and find parts to plug all the leaks after which they threw their hands up saying that American Standard keeps shipping them wrong parts so they are asking for a company representative to come and complete the install. The American Standard rep came,poked around and declared that the install is good , completely ignoring the air blowing away at his face. I complained via email and phone to American Standard and the only response I got was that they work only with their dealers and that I should work with Hulse to solve my problem. Its been more than a year after I paid $9000 for a brand new 5 ton 15 SEER American Standard air conditioner with TAM7 air handler . We now run up a huge electric bill to freeze our air handler room as the air continues to leak in hopes of getting some cool air upstairs. I will never ever contract with Hulse.

This company is excellent. They show up on time and are very professional. I also feel they are reasonably priced. I highly recommend them.

They were here when they said they would be here. They did a fantastic job. They gave me a good price. They also told exactly how long it would take them to do the work and they were right on in that estimate. They were really nice and polite people.

Hulse did not perform the service because of the reasons stated above.

From start to finish, a good experience. A rep came right away, explained what I needed and why. Explained options, costs. Came right as scheduled, crew was polite, professional, worked steadily and finished in one day, as promised. Cleaned up after themselves and even disconnected another gas heater line for me at no extra charge. Got a follow-up call to see that everything was alright. Would definitely recommend them.
