This is the only plumbing company I will call when we have an issue! Over the weekend, our well pump stopped operating, and our home was without water. Another company gave us an astronomical estimate for replacing the pump and pressure tank. Within hours, Jack had us on his schedule, and the next day, his crew had everything replaced and operational for a fraction of the cost. Everyone was friendly, helpful, competent, and extremely efficient. Hire this company without a second thought! They will exceed your expectations. Thank you, Crawley Plumbing!

After going through the long process of funding using Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority Jack Cawley was ready to go. He said it would take about a week to install 2-furnaces, 2-heat pumps and a hot water heater. After interviewing 5 other contractors and listening to their stories I found that hard to believe. But to my great surprise, it took just 6.5 working days for his team to complete the work. They were amazingly professional and probably the most technically competent of all the contractors I interviewed. Many of the other contractors left me wondering about how well they'd perform, but after the first interview with Jack, I was sold on his abilities. Jack is presently the President of the State of Connecticut Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Association and teaches plumbing classes. The team arrived promptly at 8AM every morning and went straight to work. The job supervisor would report to either me or my wife (whoever was available) exactly what he intended to accomplish that day and then at the end of the day, he'd go over everything they did. They were incredibly clean! There was NEVER a mess left behind at the end of any day and all of their work was neat and orderly. Everyday, the company owner, Jack Cawley would stop by and ask if we had any problems, questions and if we were satisfied with the progress. You will not find that kind of professionalism anywhere around Norwich. One of Jack's subcontractors was Burnside Plumbing who specialized in HVAC Heat Pumps. The owner of Burnside Plumbing is Andrew Ladd. As many reviews about him will say, he is honest to a fault. He will not stop until the job is perfect and he will never take any shortcuts. If the hardest way is the best way, that's the course he'll take. He'll return to show you how to operate the system and by the time he has completed his work, you'll feel that he should have charged you more. I can't say enough good things about him and his team. If you choose Jack Cawley and/or Burnside Plumbing for any work, I guarantee, you WILL NOT be disappointed. I highly recommend this team and would use their services again, in a heart-beat.
Description of Work: Cawley Plumbing was the general contractor for our Oil to Gas Conversion. Cawley installed two 2-stage100,000 BTU furnaces, two 18-SEER Heat Pumps and one 75 gallon Heat Pump Water Heater.

I called their answering service and Jack called me back almost immediately. He explained that his schedule was backlogged and recommended I call a local competitor. After waiting almost a full day for the competitor to get back to me I wasn't comfortable working with them and called Jack back the next morning to explain my concern. Jack came over to the house within 10 minutes of my call walked me through his replacement recommendation and said he could get the work done later the same day. His team showed up as promised, removed the old system and installed a new tankless system. Work was completed as promised and the crew was courteous and did a great job cleaning up after they were done. Would not hesitate to recommend them.

Jack really knows what he is doing. He is an expert and he is a person who cares very much when people are distressed by the lack of water due to the failure of their well or plumbing. He also installed a pump to redirect the water from my washer into the septic and that has made a huge difference in the quality of my life. Jack Cawley is a person you can count on. His prices are fair and reasonable for the work he performs. I highly recommend Cawley Plumbing.
Description of Work: Repaired my well pump by replacing an electrical component that had worn out. The bad part was located in the well housing not in the well pump itself.

Our pump failed on Thursday evening. We called Cawley Plumbing and our call was returned in about 30 minutes. Jack said that would call and come out the first thing the next morning. He called just before 8 a.m on Friday and he and his associate were here in about 30 minutes. They checked the power supply and determined that the pump needed to be pulled. They pulled the pump from its 300 plus foot depth. The pump was seized and needed to be replaced. We were given the option of replacing the wire and we decided to replace it while the pump and wire were already out of the ground. The pump and wire were replaced and the system turned on and checked. The entire job took just 2-1/2 hours to complete. The pump has a five year warranty.
Description of Work: Replaced a submersible well pump at a depth of over 300 feet, including replacing the electrical wires to the pump.

Responded to call promptly. Quote was inline with others and included materials. Work was done by two of his workers. Jack was there at the start and went over again all that would happen. He came back several times to inspect progress. Workers were very polite and very skilled. I have done several remodeling projects and it was very clear that care was being taken to do the job correctly. For example, extra time was taken to prepare the floor substructure to properly seat and support the shower base to prevent later problems. Work was done properly and promptly and we are very happy with the results. We will now use Jack for all our plumbing needs and recommend him to others.

GREAT
Description of Work: Jack was called in to quote on a hot water heater. We had aplumber for a few years, and recently had noticed that his prices seemed to be going up, and also that he was being unethical by working for a company but doing work for us at the time he should have been working for the company. Needless to say, we weren't comfortable with him. Anyway, he (the ex egads! plumber) quoted $3,000.00 (not installed) for a super-duper water heater that we simply HAD to have. I got curios, looked up the company, and found the EXACT water heater was $1,700 RETAIL. Called ex - he said wholesale was $3,000.00. Call to Jack Cawley - over he comes. Mentions same water heater. I ask what he can get it for. He says "Around $1,200, I think - I think it retails around 15 or 16. I ask when he can install it. The next day, we had a new water heater, installed for about $1,800 - well, actually, while the fellow was here (not Jack, but one of his sweet guys), he also fixed several other niggling things we asked about, and would call Jack for a price. Each price was so fair, we went ahead with it. So...the tale of the water heater taught Ed and I that we don't have to be besties with our contractors, but it is VITAL that we can trust them. Jack? Trust him. Good guy. Good work. Good price

Description of Work: We lost our water Saturday night. Sunday morning we called a few plumbing/well drilling companies. Those that we talked to said it would be $250/hr to come out on Sunday. Crawley's said it would be a $150 service charge, which would be applied to the total if he was hired. He arrived 30 minutes before the scheduled time and diagnosed the problem as the pump. He hooked us up with water from our neighbor (helps to have nice neighbors) so we were good to go until the well was fixed. He arrived this morning on time and began working on the well. After pulling up the pump he found that wires were broken. He asked if we wanted the wires fixed - probably a savings of at least $1K - or install the new pump as the old pump was installed in 1995. Although we are putting the house on the market in a few months, I told him to put in the new pump as it was the right thing to do. He could have just as easily not said anything. That's what integrity is all about. Great job to Jack Crawley and his crew!!

It was a difficult job and they had to come back a couple of times, but they stuck with it until they got it fixed. There was a broken sewer pipe and the toilet pipe was too close to the wall. He did a good job.
